Yea, let's get a bunch of clones instead of fresh characters! Woo!

Until you realize that Sonic Wind was specifically copied from Shadow's Chaos Spear move. So Sonic had his own cloned move. Guess which one's canon.

About the only things that Shadow mainly does similar to Sonic is the Spin Dash and the Homing Attack. He doesn't even always JUMP the same.

He also is a lot more powerful, can use guns, Chaos moves(at will), teleport(at will), has two different Chaos Modes that Sonic can't even do, and they're more powerful than Sonic's special mode(Darkspine). It may be more powerful than Golden Knight Sonic too, but I don't know if he's invincible or not. Never really payed attention there.

He's also faster, and they're only canonically the same speed IF Shadow can't use his boots.

I will not deny that Shadow may be turned into a clone if made playable, but he broke out of being a clone a long time ago.

All Sonic did in Brawl was spin dashing. How farfetched would Shadow really be as a clone? They have more similarities than Falcon and Gdorf.

I didn't even want Sonic in, but I would be ok with Tails. And only Tails. Not anyone else.

I just find Tails to be such a generic and not too interesting Sonic character. Plus he does not really have any iconic moves besides flying.

For the record, I was ok with Young Link, cause it was quickly said he'd be a faster Link, and I liked him a lot at first to. Falco I never knew, but liked a new character for StarFox anyway. Just felt Diddy was a lot more deserving (that goes for all Melee newcomers sans Mewtwo and Bowser lol)

if shadow were to be included in smash 4 the most appropriate in terms of usage for his special moves would be the following imo.

Neutral B- HA(stronger than sonic's has better lock on but charges up slower)
side-B chaos spear
down-b Spin dash/charge (stronger than sonic's but ends sooner and has more knockback)
up-b Chaos Control
Final smash turns Super shadow and uses Chaos Blast
Then the rest of his regular ground attacks, smash attacks, and aerials would be different.


And if sonic were to get a moveset change for specials
Neutral-B HA
side-B Spin Dash/charge
down-B Bounce Attack (acts like TL's Dair but with less spiking ability and is jump cancelable in the air, On the ground he curls up and bounces)
up-b Spring

or

Neutral B HA
side-B Boost or Light Dash
Down-B spin Dash/Charge
Up-b Spring

Tails could be just as bad. Lazy route: simply replace Spring with Heli-tails and Homing Attack with Dummy Ring Bombs.
FS: Replace with Cyclone and make it a psuedo-Landmaster or even lazier, just Super Tails, despite only being in Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

shadow would only be a half clone in the respect of him only having 2 of sonic's moves. The reason shadow would have these is because those moves are kind of a staple in the series atleast for those too.

And shadow would probably run just as fast as sonic but with luigi like traction, though on a smaller scale due to his air shoes. His jumps would be higher and he'd overall be stronger than sonic in brute strength.

I mean look at falco, he has foxs specials but with different properties and they stand out enough form each other.

Though if tails was in brawl he'd probably receive the spin dash/charge as well although his would probably last longer than sonic be weaker and gain more height when jumping with it. he'd also be able to fly for his up-b and neutral-b would probably be dummy rings and down-b some sort of trap. side-b some sort of tail wipe attack or other electronic based move. Unless they would just put tails in the tornado walker from SA2.

Plus... ya' know... Shadow has a lot of haters. Myself included. After he was introduced, the Sonic franchise went to the poopers, and was largely forgotten.

That may be, but he as a character still bores me. Plus, he wouldn't use guns and stuff any way in Smash.

Im not a competitive player, and I only own Brawl, and I still think some of Brawl's stages are ********. It's not just the competitive scene that doesn't like Warioware and Jungle Falls, they suck.

What the hell kind of "non-competitive" scene is that?

Probably region differences, since I've yet to meet a european that hates those stages.

SEGA actually has erased most of the Sonic the Hedgehog games after Sonic Adventures 2 from their archives. One of the heads of SEGA also publicly apologized for Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. That is how bad the Sonic series got.

Also, Shadow is emo. I hate emos. If Shadow is in smash, he should be the sand bag.

Let me get this straight:

You're okay with

Fox/Falco: Shared Up UP B, Side B, very similar down B, Up smash, down smash, and near weight.

But shadow has an entire game series independent of Sonic, utilizing completely different tools to inflict damage and he's too much of a clone?





And Knuckles has incredibly unique characteristics that are almost spilled out for you if you played SA2 and Sonic Heroes.

Shadow gets hate because he was a good character in SA2 in many people's eyes (mine included). After his self-titled game, he's basically an emo guy who thinks he's cool and a villain, but all he is now is a Sonic tag along.

As for Rouge, she always sucked. I've stated that before. I think she should die. Silver, too.

Also, Falco is a much more awesome character than Shadow, there are no legal loopholes to go through, and he's incredibly awesome in smash.

Also, Donkey Kong needs newcomers most.

The way I see it, Waluigi will get his chance some day. But at this time, his priority is lower than Toad, Bowser Jr., and even Rosalina; those three have had mainstream appearances, which Waluigi completely lacks.

I agree. If Smash Bros. continues for the next few decades, Waluigi will make it, and IMO will deserve it. Pre-Brawl and for Brawl I opposed Takamaru. Not because I hate Takamaru, but because I prefer other characters over him by a considerable amount. Now, I would be totally happy with Takamaru being playable.

Although I would actually give Waluigi the edge over Rosalina unless Rosalina is in a future canon Mario title, or Rosalina would make a better late-add on clone of Peach than Waluigi would be as a clone of Luigi or Wario (in Sakurai's eyes).

Metal Sonic is pretty cool. Shadow, while somewhat cool in SA2, never reached Metal Sonic. It doesn't hurt that Metal Sonic was in Sonic 3D either.

Also did I hear Dragon=??? "DRAGON! DRAGON! ROCK THE DRAGON! DRAGON BALL ZZZZZZZ!!!"

I hope Smash 3DS doesn't have the controls like Uprising. It is so hard to play this game because I am left handed. I had to change the controller options to find a setting that suits me. Why Sakurai didn't include the lock-targeting in Uprising is beyond me. This is why I liked shooting stuff in Zelda 3D games and Metroid Prime.

That sounds terrible... but at least there's that Game Pro Pad. By the way, I'm a lefty, too. WE ARE SUPERIOR! BOW TO THE LEFTIES!
