Aaaaaand, I still say we're not getting Rainbow Road. Its too....spcaey. We already have a few series that are probably going to have outer space levels due to their nature (Like Star Fox) and even though that's no guarantee, since those games have different non-space locations (Like Sauria) it seems a tad bit redundant to have Rainbow Road and a SMG stage, and we all know there's going to be a SMG stage. Plus, if you really are insistent that Mario Kart must get a second stage, you can always believe in your heart that Bowser's Castle is that second stage.
I'm going to have to disagree, even on my poll Rainbow Road is one of the highest requested stages for the next game. Heck, even before Brawl it was requested. Especially after Mario Kart 7 I think Rainbow Road would make a wonderful stage. The Mario galaxy stage is probably going to be Starship Mario and revolve around going through various galaxies. You can have multiple themes without being redundant, all I was saying in reference to Kid Icarus: Uprising is it would be a shame to do something redundant when there are other wonderful areas you could base a stage around.

You also had Murasame Castle and Bell Tower.
I did not do a Murasame Castle stage as I do not believe Takamaru will be in. Also, it is Tin Tower, not Bell Tower. Technically that isn't a castle.

Serious question; Do you support a Liberty Island/Tower stage?
I guess if I knew what it was? I don't own Black/White, so I am not familiar with every area. Whenever I do not own a game I go off what I am able to research, and make a decision calculated by trends and how it weaves into my framework of existing stages. Which is a fancy way of saying I have way too much time on my hands.

Personally I think with Black/White 2 possibly introducing new areas there will be new areas being requested by the end of the year.

It makes me so so sad how true this statement is.

:phone:
If it's any consolation, I doubt Layton or Krystal would have a chance if it WASN'T for Sakurai.

Also Melee 2.0 would have been dumb.
Not ALL of us played as Falco and lost to Pichu in a tourney Oasis.

And SOME people wanted a new Smash, not Melee 2.0. They still do funny enough
True.

Good gameplay should be priority one

Long *** story mode and ****ty online priority two

It's funny, if Sakurai would have SAID NO to Brawl, we would have the smash we wanted
That's fine, but I was just talking about the SSE
And people wanted a new Smash, not Melee 2.0. They still do funny enough.

Well online is what I was referring to. As far as SSE most of the casual people I know loved it, so it could just be demographic.
Thought you meant the whole thing, So we agree on the online then.

Oh, okay, that makes sense, I suppose...
Here. It'll give you a basic idea of the area, along with the knowledge of it being Victini's home.

Shut up and take my money!

Was Melee 2.0 even going to have new characters? I forget.

I bet all the reviews would have said "It's fun for a while trying out the new characters, but if you played Melee then it will all feel like same-old same-old. You won't miss much if you don't pick it up."

"Oh, and the online experience is horrible."

Actually who knows about the stages....I mean, everyone wanted Bowser's Castle for Brawl, but nope. Hyrule Castle or Ganon's Tower or whatever from Twilight Princess? Nuh-uh, Eldin Bridge. Not to mention Metroid, Fire Emblem, and Star Fox. Sakurai seems to sort of be random, though I believe it is sort of based upon not doing the same type of place twice, or at least not with the same tone. The only real exception to that which I can see are the retro stages, 75m and Mario bros. I'd say G&W2 was different enough in looks actually.

I certainly didn't want melee 2.0. I actually love the Brawl physics engine and prefer ir much more over Melee's. However, it can't be ignored that Sakurai wasted unfathomable amounts of resources on ****ty features that A. No one wanted and B. Were totally half ***** and just blew. Not to mention the fact that if it were anyone but Sakurai, the roster would have been at least 10 characters more and probably more balanced. Not to mention with better online. Still a great game, but it could have been so much better.

It would still be a SEQUEL IM SURE, just not as VASTLY DIFFERENT like Brawl.

But go on, justify your dislike for competitive Smash some more

No. Would have just been Melee with online.

Yeah, I think the online issue is mostly blown out of proportion though. Seeing as how Kid Icarus: Uprising is being handled I have a little more optimism that Sakurai is going to advance Super Smash Bros online infrastructure. If I were able to make one recommendation to him I would take a page from Mario Kart Wii and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and be able to select regional or global opponents. That well help free up some of those problems.

From what I have seen Sakurai enjoys going for stages that offer unique gameplay opportunities. A lot of stages from Brawl were popular requests, or had some type of association with a character. I think with the Wii U Sakurai is going to try to push the artistic boundaries.

@Star: Here. I hope it helps a bit during your brainstorming. :3

Eh, not entirely. The gameplay opportunities didn't necessarily have to happen in the locations given. While Norfair may have been appropriate enough for the desire to bring back acid/lava, Frigate Orpheon wasn't requested or needed for its gameplay mechanic. It was a unique location amongst the game's stages though, which something like Phendrana Drifts might not have been due to the Summit (which sort of had to go to the ICs because...well you know its all they got) Bowser's Castle could have been the side scrolling stage for Mario instead of Mushroomy Kingdom (which no one really asked for) but we already had a castle stage for Fire Emblem and didn't have a desert.

So while yes there were a lot of locations that were indeed requested, I do think Sakurai tempered them with outside choices that would be different from a aesthetic point of view (as well as mechanics as you pointed out)

he also made Bandanna Dee, since he was an opponent in Megaton Punch in the original SS.

the remake booted him up even further by making him a miniboss in the stadium.
Read what I had said again. Bandana Waddle Dee only got prominent AFTER Sakurai left Hal.
Sakurai did not make Ultra.

Just rewatched a whole bunch of F-Zero GX TV interviews and profile videos

I think Samurai Goroh is in my top 5 of all my most wanted newcomers for Smash now

I'm with you, I really hope Samurai Goroh gets in too. We really need a second F-zero newcomer already.

I saw it to. Then got bored after 3 minutes and checked out Falcon's.

I'm so damn glad they didn't use that horrible voice in Brawl...

Imagine THAT saying Falcon Punch.

I hope we get like, 50% of the stages being BASIC, or more SIMPLE in terms of gimmicks, and then another 50% that are more out there. Maybe less out their stages even. Personally, I don't play on some of the Brawl stages because I don't like their PARTICULAR gimmick. So I would rather have at lest HALF of the stages be more SIMPLISTIC when we talk about gimmicks, or just have no gimmicks at all.

Asking a smash game to have less gimmicks is like asking a GTA game to not have prostitutes, drugs, or blood - it just won't happen.
