I'm really beginning to have a strange feeling Genesect might have a good opportunity in the near future. Which would be fun since he would be a better choice than Zoroark or Victini in my opinion. No, Square Enix is what it stands for. Basically, if any third party is going to be added, it will be from one of the Big Five, or, if you believe in the power of friendship, level-5. Basically, SEGA, Konami, Square, Namco, Capcom, and Level-5 kinda are the six companies that I think one of the third parties could come from.

Sonic, Bomberman, Black Mage, Megaman, Pac-Man. Perfect.

I got off subject. Uhm, basically, I don't put TOO much stock into Professor Layton's creator being buddies with Sakurai (Which could bite me in the *** later on) or Pac-Man and Namco in general. Even though Pac-Man has crossed over with Mario, and Link has crossed over with Soul Calibur... I still am not buying it yet. Shame really. Pac-Man or Nightmare could be awesome in Smash. Oh well.

So yeah, Megaman, and a SE character are my bets for a new third party IF WE GET ANY.

Shortie, I would consider putting stock in the fact that Professor Layton is a cultural phenomenon in Japan and is also extremely successful in the US AND the UK. Not to mention that Layton's creator has gone on record saying he wants Layton to be in Smash and Sakurai has at the VERY LEAST, heard the idea proposed(by a talk show host). Compound all THAT with the fact that they're buddies, and you have something to at least consider. At least over ****ing Bomberman, FFS.

I don't think the Masked Man aka Claus is very likely at all, mostly just about as likely or less than I think Anthony Higgs has at this point.

Mother has 3 games, of which we already have the main heroes from in from the 2 most noticeable games. Claus's chance is also far less likely cause of Porky, who appears in both Ness and Lucas their games, and was even in Brawl as a boss.

And its overall a rather selective list imo.

Best newcomers potential definitely still goes to Dixie Kong and King K.Rool though. No other character can compete to them to me. Only Mewtwo maybe, if he'd get a serious G&W-like buff.

There's also Impa and Anthony ofcoarse would be awesome if they where put in.

While I am probably a tepid Layton supporter, this might help emphasize your point.

In the midst of the massive collection of Nintendo franchises and games Layton is present among them all. I'd say that is a pretty surprising detail. Professor Layton doesn't seem like a character that would alienate people to the degree that someone like Cloud or even Solid Snake would or did.

Hey, I said if you believe in the power of friendship. None of this matters nearly as much as the fact that Hino is buddies with Sakurai.

Of course, I still think Namco, Square, and Capcom are better fits by far.

Hey guys, I'm gunna be honest...

I've been losing hype for SSB4's arrival. It's been a very long time, and it's just killing me that we speak of such great characters that might not get their chance... Victini, mainly in my opinion.
I fear such little things. It was obvious for Melee and Brawl; YLink and Lucario, but this time I'm voting for a character that's a risk of a Poke Ball because no one will open their eyes enough to see such a Brawl-defining creature (I say this because alot of people want him as a Poke Ball).
So, yeah, just wanted to get that off my chest. What about you guys that have been here longer than I that have been waiting for SSB4?

if they just add ridley, bring back mewtwo and roy, and don't cut anyone from brawl's roster, then anyone else they add will be no more than a nice extra for me. i mean, i have a few hopes like anyone else does, but if they don't add, say, ghirahim, i won't be too broken up about it.

my picks for third-party are both pretty unlikely, but i can dream...

asage: i wouldn't mind victini. my personal pick for a fifth-gen rep would be genesect, but victini's definitely high up there on the list.

Well, I mean in comfirmation time. I've followed it since I found out about it's announcement.

I mean, we all vote for at least one character to get in. Me, it's Victini. Diddy over there, it's Impa, I suppose. SSBF was once Victini, but is probably now Lil' Mac.

After all this time, all, some, one, or none could come to SSB4. To those who didn't see their hopes enter... It's crushing, I suppose. At least, that's how I felt when Young Link was replaced.

Krom is a threat to Roy. Which is something I wasn't expecting at first, but I think it's apparent he's a major contender now. I've switched my bets to Krom, something I never thought I would do. If FE13 comes out in NA, Roy is in major trouble.


Also, I hope Masked Marth shows up in Smash4

Both Roy and Krom are good choices for distinct reasons, so it's just better to bring them both back. Make Krom (and Marth) a starter and Roy an unlockable. Any objections?

At this point, I'm not really caring about who gets the last FE spot anymore. Just as long as we get Marth and Ike I'm good, which we probably will.

Both Roy and Krom, IMO, are equal to each other at this point (although I think Roy is in a slight lead due to popularity), so it's all up to Sakurai. And yes, I still betting on only 3 FE characters.

I wouldn't mind Shiida though. :3

No not for me. I either want in both Ike and Roy, or rather have them otherwise keep just Marth and Krom with a possible different 3rd character. All 4 sword lords are my personal choice though, though I'd love to be able to throw Hector, Soren and Shiida with em though.

Let's just say: I think Krom and Marth are the most likely. Next comes Ike, then comes Roy. I've always said this.

Actually, what would be cool is if we got three reps, one for each FE style.

Marth is... marth, so he keeps the sword.

Ike trades his Ragnell into a Ragnell-ish Axe.

And the new guy gets a spear.

This is just me though.

What new guy? If its a spear its gotta be either Shiida or Epharaim, the last being highly unlikely. Ike won't use the Urvan axe anyway. And I still say Krom is just about 100% sure to appear in at least the 3DS version.

I have absolutely no idea why Roy is as wanted as he appears to be. T3h phir3 never appealed to me whatsoever; the resources that would be dedicated to likely the third, or even fourth, sword user in the Fire Emblem franchise could be allocated to a character with a different weapon, or a character from a different series entirely. Diversity is never a bad thing in Smash.

EDIT: I also think those who want Mewtwo, an original character, to return, would be better-suited supporting him alone, rather than lumping him in with Roy as a two-part unit.
