They said they didn't want it to be the same as brawl and just add a few characters and call it a day. They wanted to change alot of things, Maybe it will have actual combos this time around. No not like that, but more of an idea that it looked unnatural. It was just a dream, but it made me realise that IF Smash will have combos, they must be implemented with utmost care as to not disturb the natural flow of Smash too much. But really, I'd like to see them try.

aaawww yeh!alright i just got medusa's ova, i'll try to upload it to youtube in 10-20 minutes.
not much major info, but here's a news article from IGN.Youtube link! Naow! >=o

Ehh hemSo how do you think they should be implemented? I still think there are some ways to preserve DI AND still have actual combos.
1. Have a juggle limit. On the Xth attack, the attacked player can escape with DI. If the attacker guesses right, they reset the juggle limit.
2. Have attacks scaled in combos. With number 1 in mind, the scaling continues.
3. Make it where only certain moves have DI in them regardless if they're standalone or in a combo. This gives you resets.
And KumaSakurai: But I had sensed that for a long time, so instead of asking players to pull off specific combos that require instant elaborate manipulation, I wondered how I could bring out an element of ad lib.
Iwata: To you, the element of ad lib was the fun core of fighting games.
Sakurai Right. Every time you fight, your opponent's reactions change. Instead of set combos, how to react to changing situation is more important. That became the basis of the idea of cumulative damage.
Iwata: Oh, so that was a reason behind the idea of being able to blow away your opponent when their cumulative damage had built up?
Sakurai: Come to think about it, didn't we talk about this before? As a matter of fact, it’s a really simple thing. Fighting games seems to be like it’s about making specific combos, but I wondered how we could draw out that element of ad lib that I liked so much and thought it would be fun to have the reactions change every time. The result was putting in cumulative damage.
Iwata: By doing that, what you need to do will change depending on the situation. Players will engage in more ad lib—including the by-chance happenings that occur when players who aren't very good are just punching buttons that can change the course of play. Is that right?
Sakurai: Right.
Iwata: Now so many people have played it, so if you told them that Super Smash Bros. is that kind of game, they would understand.
Sakurai Yes.
Come to think about it, didn't we talk about this before?
I thought I heard that they wanted 3DS to be more single-player oriented and Wii-U to be multiplayer oriented?I would expect the development of both to be closely linked. The CHARACTER BALANCE and PHYSICS and ALL THAT STUFF is going to have to be VERY SIMILAR if not EXACTLY THE SAME. At least, I would expect it to be since there will be connectivity between the two. And, y'know, it's just a much easier workload.
I'm guessing they'll have a Simultaneous release.
Is that all? How unimpressive. Here is something impressive though. Nintendo is showing Kid Icarus TV spots during some of the NCAA games taking place right now during March Madness. Pretty good time to be showing them since, you know, college ball is a big deal. Marketing done rightly.
Yeah, Yeah, blame my internet connection.Tryphen is too slow.
That's much better quality than mine. But then again that's what you get when you rent a camera.
Pretty much. And I didn't even have to explain why.My guess is that after Uprising is released there will be more people favoring Palutena than Medusa. However, what I am curious about is how many people will be in favor of two Kid Icarus newcomers.
Oh okay. I'm guessing it doesn't really matter since this is a reboot, not to mention people have been asking the exact same thing with Ganondorf/Ridley for quite a while now.TriHy, I'm pretty aware of that but what happened AFTER first KI... how she came back from her defeat after all these freaking 25 years?
No, that's it for Medusa. Palutena's story, however, will have two parts. Is there even a Part 2?
I FREAKING KNEW IT! Medusa is indeed voiced by Cree "Susie Carmichael" Summer. I knew the voice from anywhere. And hearing Palutena sound all serious gives me Lightning vibes.
Wouldn't a reboot imply that the previous canon is tossed out like from Starfox to Starfox 64?Oh okay. I'm guessing it doesn't really matter since this is a reboot, not to mention people have been asking the exact same thing with Ganondorf/Ridley for quite a while now.
The manual at least helps a little bit with explaining the original story.![]()
Restarting the series back up again then.Wouldn't a reboot imply that the previous canon is tossed out like from Starfox to Starfox 64?
That's still the same thing. Revival is a much better term.Restarting the series back up again then.![]()
