Hmm... I was looking at something.

Smash 64 introduced 12 new characters.
Melee introduced 13 new characters.
Brawl introduced 15 new characters.

So is it unrealistic to think there will be 20 new characters in the next Smash? Given the capabilities and power of the Wii U, and the game also being designed for the 3DS, I think it could happen, making a total of 55 characters, although there might be returning veterans within that (Mewtwo, Roy, etc.), bringing the total of newcomers to something like 18 instead.

I've said this before. I think a 55 character roster is something that could totes happen.

Ugh... You know, on one hand I am glad to know there is a new Smash Bros. on the way, but on the other, I kind of wish they would have saved the announcement for when they had some of the actual game done. Now it is just going to be months of debate over which characters "make sense" or are "relevent enough" to be included without any confirmations.

Though the debates on the next Smash Bros. probably started as soon as Brawl came out.

It had been going on for three years at the time, it wouldn't have made a difference.

I just had random yet hopefully badass idea for James McCloud (F-Zero, not Star Fox):

What if he got into Smash with a similar moveset to Fox, BUT... these moves would be a more human take on Fox's moves?

As in, instead of the small blaster that Fox has, James would have a machine gun/rapid fire-like laser blaster or instead of Fox Illusion, his version of it would be a really fast dash followed by smacking the opponent out of the way (as in, literally using his hand/strength to smack them in the air)

Like I said, really random, but what do y'all think?

Human? Last I checked, Fox fights much like a human while Wolf is way more feral in his fighting style. Are you sure you just don't mean realistic as opposed to science fiction?

And yet.... Toon Link's Smash personality is clearly based on Wind Waker. His taunt? He pulls out the Wind Waker. His victory poses? He conducts with the baton and chases after the pigs from Wind Waker. Where's Ezlo the bird-hat from The Minish Cap? Where's the Four Links Final Smash? Where's the gliding with Roc's Cape?

Personality doesn't mean that they have to have those things present. If you were to mix up where all the Toon Links were in Zelda games, they'd probably be all the same if you go by nature instead of nurture.

That's a shame. I haven't particularly followed Megaman's recent tumultuous past, but I do know it's been unfortunate (Legends 3, anyone?).

As to the Backroom, that makes me I suppose I'll just wallow around in here. It's not like I do anything here other than on this board, anyways.

Believe it or not, it was Inafune's idea to put BBA Megaman in. Unfortunately, with all the "shafting" Megaman's gotten in the last few years, it comes across as a mistimed joke.

I don't know how good he is, but in terms of personality, he's most definitely a joke character. Despite his quality, I wanna say he and the other Sony exclusives are banned from tournaments, but Pacman and Megaman might be unbanned when and if they're officially made available on the 360.

Actually, the Mega Man situation in SFxT was Inafune's idea, Breadbug. It wasn't intended to "troll" the fanbase as people like to say.

And from what I've seen on his gameplay, he doesn't seem like a Joke Character in the TVTropes sense of the word. But he definitely is a Butt Monkey.

When they originally put him in the game, he was supposed to a character in Mega Man Universe, but then MMU got cancelled, so now he just seems like an extra FU to Mega Man fans.

Bad Box Art Mega Man is the #1 reason I am going to buy Street Fighter X Tekken when I buy a PS3. Other reasons being Bob, Kuma, Poison, Hugo, Guy, Cody, Rolento, and Pac-Man. I like Final Fight. I got all three of them on my Wii.
