marth's shadow dragon design is pretty awesome, but i don't think i could get used to marth being so masculine in smash.

is the new game really going to have so much emphasis on past characters? i've been meaning to try a fire emblem, and this might be a good time.

I just had a huge thought guys, does anyone else feel that character-specific costumes should actually vary within that character (like warios different costumes, but for every character). Instead of just changing colors, that would be pretty sick don't you think?

another thing is balance, don't even get me started on the balance issues with Brawl..

The main argument seems to be that it's a weird console. Who cares? It's an HD game system from Nintendo, and their first console since 2006. People are gonna buy it anyway. And it "Dreamcasted" itself? I thought the Dreamcast was really succesful. A lot of people like it in my experience mainly because of Sonic Adventure.

@Poppy- I know a lot of people that liked the Dreamcast, too. But Dreamcast's run ended up being cut short by the PS2's launch and most people associate it as the console that ended Sega's run as a console manufacturer (BTW, the console only ran out for about 3 years and sold about 11 million consoles worldwide). I guess Pachter is trying to say that the Wii U is going to go through a similar situation as the Dreamcast where the later-gen consoles (Xbox 720 and PS4) will cut the Wii U's life short and maybe even Nintendo's run as a console maker, which is pretty much completely ridiculous, in my eyes, but hey, that's what he thinks

We did have a Misty trophy in Melee and this Misty looked more like the Misty from the anime and not from the games. We also had a Meowth trophy in Melee and this Meowth was holding the guitar from Meowth's Party and Meowth's Party originated in the Pokemon anime. And besides Meowth, Arbok, and Weezing did not originate in the anime. They came in the games first anyway.

The later generations can have Zoroark and Pokeball Pokemon. The first generation is where the money is at.

The guy who's dissing the Wii U must be a major PS3/X-Box lover to say that it will be a complete failure. It's kinda weird he looks so girly now compared to his earlier re designs. But I infact would like if this where to be Marth. As the first Lord of Fire Emblem, and seeing as other Fire Emblem characters will return in this, why shouldn't he get a special role?

And I said it before: but Marth and Krom will be the main Fire Emblem reps in Sm4sh anyway. Roy and even Ike would be good extras, both being pretty similar to each other and Marth and Krom. 4 FE characters would rock, but I somehow doubt it'll happen.

At most, it'll be 3. And as said before: I think they rather keep Ike than bring back Roy.

And I'm still baffled as how people think Roy will somehow make it before Krom. He won't. :\

That being said: FE13 seems to me will be the best FE ever so far.

That's an excellent question. While it seems that the anime versions of a character in the games can show up in some form, it does beg to question whether or not Canon Immigrants can show up or not. My only concern here would be licensing issues. Supposedly, that's what kept Karin out of SFxTK since she debuted in a SF manga.

Krom will be used to unlock Marth in an event. Calling this now. Or both will be starters, and Ike and Roy are unlockable.

This is the pot calling the kettle black cause your usually on that side. You are the guy who tried to argue Impa and that the TxSF DLC on the disc was a "technical" reason.

Have you played Assault and Command or did you block them out of your memory?

And why not look at what they can contribute to the game instead of their arbitrary roles? Even Sakurai has acknowledged that Krystal was the only one out of those three that stood a fighting chance in a brawl. That, and she's the least likely out of the entire cast to not get the shoto treatment because of that staff of hers.

As Mr Golden said, Krystal did nothing in Assalt, and Command isn't even canon (also, it is very silly).

Sakurai's first rule for adding characters is "will it make people want to play the game." Krystal is iffy because, yes, she does have a lot of fans. But Krystal also has a lot of hate from multiple places. She may not be the best candidate for a character that would make people want to play the game. Slippy and Peppy probably have more people that like them now and more personality and would make better additions.

I'm not sure Ice Climber has much room for evolution? I mean, it's kind of neat that the type of game it is depends on your level of ****ery; race to the top or help out your friend. Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like New SMB Wii.
