I think there's definitely room for evolution in the series. Uprising takes very little from its roots as a platformer (gameplay wise), so an Ice Climbers revival could be anything.


I'm just spitballing here, but how about this:

Ice Climbers: Sub-Zero (or some other silly subtitle) could be an 3D Action Platformer with minor RPG elements where you trek up mountains and into caves. Sometimes it's to escort an NPC to a certain location, sometimes it's to find treasure, and so on and so forth. You can take a party of four (the main character can be played as Popo or Nana), and fights take place in real time. The game would best be described as a cousin of Super Paper Mario, but with a tremendous focus on action sequences and quick platforming. Partner moves would have a large presence, with certain areas only being reachable with your Ice Climber partner present (belaying, lifting up your partner, catching partners if they're in danger of falling, etc.). New party members could lend new abilities, and the extra party members could be Nintendo characters from similarly themed games (Balloonist, anyone?). New weapons and equipment could be acquired, modifying the real-time batlle performance of characters. The story would be whatever, blah blah blah evil force at the top of Icicle Mountain, blah blah blah.

Huh, I actually kinda like that.

In Skyward Sword she did. **** tons of more stuff Sheik did as well. Which isn't hard to do at all in the first place.
Like what? You don't say. All she does is follow Zelda, almost gets ended by Ghirahim, and wait in the past while Link (and Ghirahim) do a bunch of stuff. What is curious is why you argue Impa when Ghirahim did far and beyond more and was promoted more.

Because you learn everything about Impa just right after the final battle, so promoting that would've been major spoiling.

Her role at the end of the game? You ready for what her role was. It was being OLD. She had no other role. Groose did more. Ghirahim did more. I'm sure Zelda's Dad did more. Like, every other characters in the game is more important than Impa. The only thing Impa really did was make a bridge.

Groose explored the ground and fought off the weird Grimace creature
Ghirahim was at your heels the entire game
Fi made your sword not suck (and tell you things you already knew)

Impa did none of that. And these "points" you make are "Impa should replace Sheik because PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF" Your only argument and reason is the character everyone loves MUST be replaced by the character no one cares about out.

Everyone disagrees with you. No one thinks this is a good idea. So likely Sakurai also thinks it's stupid.

I'm only saying this because you think your dumb ideas are somehow insightful. I'm done.

Pretty sure I heard Geno wont ever be in SSB because of the past copyright thing. They have to work something out with the final fantasy ppl.
And if they had the time to do that they should just get the rights for the original mario rpg as well.

As if this thread could not become anymore bizarre...

I like the idea Chrono posted a couple of pages back that maybe the Marth in Awakening is really one of the zombies revived by the shadow dragon and wears the butterfly mask to hide his eyes. If so I'm almost sure we will get a zombie Marth palette swap with glowing red eyes. Which would be awesome.

I don't know about less girly, but I could definitely see him getting a dark blue palette swap with red eyes. Then we could have a Shadow Link / Zombie Marth battle. If Krom was playable we could have a Krom / Zombie Marth battle similarly to what is shown in Awakening.

Better yet Krom stumbles across Ike and engages him in battle, mistaking him for another zombie force.

Or maybe Metaknight would be a better choice?

Yes yes yes a thousand times. Athletic trainers are awesome (Doc Louis), and I'm totally not saying that just because it's my major.

Not at all.

Besides, I think some NPC appearances in the next Story Mode would be cool, and Doc Louis should get in on the story.

Meh, I'd just rather have an Adventure mode that features more characters. Really don't want to see a bunch of NPCs start showing up. Just bosses and playable characters.

Here's some food for thought on DLC. Thought this was a really good comment on the SFxTK DLC controversy.
It might not seem fair to have to pay for content that is already on the disc, but if you ever worked in game development, then you will see that it is actually justified.

You can't think of it in terms of not getting the full game unless you pay additional money for "DLC" that isn't really DLC. The term "Downloadable Content" is misleading in this case and adds to perception that consumers are being deceived. A more accurate terms would be something like "Overbudget Content."

Instead, think of it this way: If Capcom was not able to charge for the additional 12 locked characters that is already on the disc, then they would not have the budget to create them for the game in the first place. The budget for the full game does NOT include the locked characters. BUT they essentially went over budget in order to create the additional 12 characters intending to recuperate the costs by later charging for this extra content.

People would not feel deceived if the content was not included on the disc already and it had to be downloaded later. Why? Because doing that implies to the consumer that the content was created outside of the original scope of the game, outside of the original budget. But guess what? That is exactly the same case here, the extra content was created outside of the original budget, it just so happens to be delivered differently. Nobody complained about the DLC for Super Street Fighter 4 because of the release timeline in that case, but the economics involved are for that game and this one are exactly the same.

To many, this practice will always be viewed from the perspective of ripping off the consumer but for a reputable company like Capcom, this is not the case.
At the same time, here's Nintendo's views on DLC.

I am still betting that "Marth" is actually Martha. I would hate if people start suggesting for "Martha" to replace Marth just because she calls herself Marth anyway and because "she is female and the most current incarnation of Marth".

Gimme some Ike as DLC for Fire Emblem already! At least then I have a legitimite reason to own a 3DS. Which I don't. I don't own a 3DS. Anyone wanna give me a 3DS? :c

Marth will stay Marth. Be it zombie Marth or not. This will in fact not be a Martha or an imposter I think, this is the real deal.

The three Fire characters from the previous games seen on the in-game cards in the trailer are:
Ayra (FE4, Seisen no Keifu)
Claire (FE2, Gaiden)
Innes (FE8, Sacred Stones)

I do know for a fact that Ayra is one of the most popular characters from FE4 (there was even an official poll where she got second place).
