That's because like... no one in Japan owns a 360. Almost all the big name games on the 360 are FPS and TPS, which most Japanese gamers are not interested in at all. That is Microsoft's identity (although I think it is fairly one dimensional, and those genres and games are, for the most part, extremely overrated and the FPS/TPS market is over saturated). Japanese gamers tend to like every other genre but those, such as action/adventure genre games, fighting games, and above all, all kinds of RPGs... although Japanese readers of Famitsu rating FFXIII the best game ever is a bit over the top. Seriously, have they not played Super Mario Bros. 3, the Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, Earth Bound, Chrono Trigger, or Super Metroid=??? All of those games are vastly superior to that game.

Yeah, and their first party support isn't great..

Rare:(

Halo really got me into shooters, but I began to notice every title I bought for 360 was a damn shooter, and I'm so sick of em now..

I dunno, I thought Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 were extremely entertaining games. Those games were just absolutely great to play. Regardless, at least we probably don't have to worry about Final Fantasy XIII's main character Lightning as a playable character in smash. Thank God. I already am sick of hearing people say Cloud and Squall for Smash. Screw them, they are just a crappy version of Terra. Comparing them to Terra is like comparing Gex the Gecko to Super Mario! :urg: :chuckle:

NSMB Wii was much more fun than Galaxy.

Fun sells.

Insert SmashChu.
I agree. Not too into the Galaxy games, but I enjoyed NSMBWii.

Im not much into Super Mario 3D Land either...

I personally enjoyed NSMB Wii quite a bit more from the Galaxy games as well. NSMB Wii was a rather quick and ready to go game while Galaxy was quite a bit deeper in my opinion. Both the Galaxy and NSMB Wii games were all great though I still enjoyed the latter better due to the better replay value as well as the multi-player option (most people dislike it, but I find it to pretty enjoyable). I just wished that they brought back the battle mode features from NSMB DS (like hitting your opponents with a fire flower etc). :(

For some reason, I also find Sunshine to be more enjoyable than the Galaxy games as well. Galaxy 1 and 2 just felt so...empty and vast in comparison to the other Mario games. The Galaxy games were good, but were still missing something....

God, you can be such a Nintendo fanboy.

There is one exception, though, to 360 games not being all that successful in Japan. The iDOLM@STER series went from arcades to the 360. Sure, it's not the biggest seller, but it does have a gigantic presence on Nico Nico Douga and spawned two anime, one was a mecha series that had nothing to do with the original and a recently finished 26 episode anime that pretty much follows the canon (I don't know if it is canon, but I assume it is). There's also a lot of cameo appearances in other Namco Bandai games and they collaborated with Sega for DLC featuring the Vocaloids and vice versa in their respective music games.

That's strange. I loved the **** out of the first Galaxy game. Everything was so pretty the first time I played it....although, I still remember the first few stages being boring. It does get a lot better when you leave that small garden shack.

Yeah Galaxy from the get go had me hooked. Once the silly story went into the background, I was completely absorbed into this. The same went for Galaxy 2. I love the heck out of both game, although I don't think either of them have the "Mario" replay value that even Sunshine (kinda) had. I can play Super Mario 64 for hours without getting bored.
God, you can be such a Nintendo fanboy.
The ignorance of this made me laugh. I'm not sure why this was said to be quite honest. :glare:

I don't enjoy the numerical Final Fantasy games post-VI because of the lack of quality (IX aside). I find the story emo, boring, and really uninspired. Plus it all seems borrowed from the Final Fantasy IV, V, or VI (and sometimes even I or II). Instead of just one annoying character, in that game appearing it's a ton, and they all get a ton of screen time (Tiffa anyone=???). I do love the Tactics games.

As for the 360 and PS3, I love those consoles. Heck, I own more 360 games (like 15) than Wii games (maybe 10). Personally I think the 360 and the PS3 are superior to the Wii in terms of games, mostly because of great 3rd party titles.

It's still not that big of a deal. The 360, by and large, is a Western console. It's success in Japan is still minimal at best, even with Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-II.

This was amongst the most ignorant things I have heard. :glare: This is also why so people on myself on this thread have a negative opinion of you, which up until now I did not include myself in on. Now I am unsure quite frankly.

Overall, this comment made me laugh. I just don't like the numerical Final Fantasy ga,es post-VI because of the lack of quality (IX aside). I find the story emo, boring, and really uninspired. And instead of just one annoying character, it's a ton.
My my... someone's got his britches in a bunch. Look, I don't care what your opinion is of me, regardless if the reason is all the justifying or not. What the heck do you want? Do you want me to speculate on characters strictly on their canon roles like everyone else?

And I apologize for calling you a fanboy, but calm down. In the irony of all this, I own more Nintendo platform games from this gen then I do 360 games yet I play my 360 more on a daily basis.

I was totally calm when I said all that (including all my edits and original post) and I meant what I said. I have no tolerance to personal insults, directed at others or myself.

Honestly the only games I play on my Wii anymore are Twilight Princess (from time to time), Skyward Sword, Galaxy 1 and 2, and Brawl (from time to time). Even then I don't play these games much. There just isn't much replay value with any of these games like with several 360 and PS3 games. I have put tons of hours into games like MGS4, Uncharted, GTA IV, Skyrim, NBA 2K, and Madden (and I use to dread sports games), and I haven't ever been slightly bored.

However, I will say that the DS has so many great games with massive replay value that it overwhelms me. I said early on the DS is the best console of the generation, and I stand by it. That console has not a little, but a lot of very high quality games of just about every genre under the sun. That console has just a ridiculous number of classic games.

I still need to get the other Layton games, FF 13-2, and a few others.

Remember how crappy the DS lineup was until Canvas Curse came out?

I knew the DS was gonna be great once I saw how great Diamond and Pearl looked on it, and after the first excellent Castlevania came out on it. 400 Pokémon and Castlevania games later, I am now more right, and more glad I am right. I still need to get all those Castlevania games... and the DS Final Fantasy Tactics... and Chrono Trigger DS... and Final Fantasy III and IV DS... and Spirit Tracks... and a crap ton of other games...
Edit:
Sounds like something a homosexual would say.
No, I have never tolerated personal insults directed towards anyone about anything other than some tangible or understandable (ie: when someone is being rude to call them rude). I have expressed that multiple times on this thread. I'm not the most vocal person or the least vocal person, but I am very vocal when this happens.
Edit 2:
When I was the young, I never got in trouble. That is, unless you made fun of, insulted, or intimidated my friends or siblings. Then crap got real. Of course being tall, athletic, and a jock helped to intimidate and beat up people, along with my mean left hook and ability to work people to get minimal punishment. :)

Word. All the way to this day. That's only because I'm a protective person, though.

People pick on my *** just because I'm fat. I don't care that you call me fat, as long as you say it to my face first. Pick on the bros= You're in for some ****. Ironically, last week, a guy was picking on my little cousin who was visiting from New Jersey. He lost some teeth. Now, I'm in trouble with his dad, who actually doesn't care :laugh::laugh:

Honestly, it's not good to pick on a dude who's friend weighs 370 and is 6'3.

Yeah once my friend who was, shall we say "larger" (as well as quite shy and quiet), got some pizza thrown at him by some punk. So he went over to the guy, grabbed the pizza he threw, grabbed the guy, and shoved it down his throat! It was one of the funniest and most shocking things I've ever seen in my life!

Which makes me think, that should be a move in smash bros! Grab some food (like the apples on Green Greens) and you should be able to shove it down an opponent's throat to hurt them and/or stun them. Who says food can't be used as a weapon anyways=??? :chuckle:

Maybe a way to spice up Diddy's banana play perhaps?

Am not too much of a fan now of food ideas in Smash. Yesterday discovered that Kirby's Cook kills everything on stage. Including Assist Trophies and Pokémon. Ever wanted to try a soup based on Waluigi, Bumbers and Kyogre? Ask Kirby...

The fact that Wii Part 2 outsold Brawl is just plain sad. That and how the heck did NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii outsell Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2=??? Those were much better games than NSMB Wii.

Regardless, it is interesting. Judging by the sales of Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, Zelda isn't as popular in Japan as it used to be.
My guess is Japan actually plays multiplayer games for being cooperative, at least on the Wii front.

Bit late to find that out, isn't it? I mean, I thought it was common knowledge by this point. o_o

That's because those titles are packaged with the Wii itself, then these people fail at ever buying any significant main title games.

You act as if he should be crucified for liking a different series.

Come no, really? At least he's bringing new ideas to the table that at the same time would make Smash Bros look more like a competent fighting game and less of a party game.

This. As I've said in the past, Smash Bros. has the biggest potential to be one of, if not the best fighting game out there thanks to its simplistic design that allows for an array of possibilities. Sakurai just needs to not suck at fighters so much (and I'm not talking about execution) and stop catering to scrubs so much to get the big picture. Besides, who WOULDN'T like the idea of following up their attacks instead of constantly having to chase the opponent? It's enough work as it is to land that first hit.
