EDIT: I did find Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Was published by Nintendo in North America, but I'm suspecting it's also seen in the Japanese and European version where Square published it. I'm getting the feeling that Square Enix may have tried to get something in for Brawl, but failed. If that is the case, I can easily imagine them getting a Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest rep in this time around.

I was actually thinking of on original character from a spin-off franchise. Of course, I know how obscure and unlikely this is, but I figure if we had a "Spin-Off representative" why not make it an OC?

Here's who I was thinking of:

Plum! :)

I was thinking she could use golf clubs, hokcey sticks, bats, dice you name a spin-off, it gets at least one attack. I could make a quick moveset for funsies if anyone is interested?
Lol, I actually thought of her before. I can't come up with a moveset though.

I see Plum as more assist material if you ask me :\
I wasn't viewing her as actually having a chance, just throwing an idea for a representative of an uncharted series.

I'll moveset her up!

@Star

Lokin' good, as always :)

Assuming you are referring to Matthew from Golden Sun. I've already done him.

As for "MyUnit", I'll add him to my requests que. I'm done making sigs for the night.

I think most all of us are aware of that. We are all kind of having fun with the early pre-hype. Right now I;m having more fun making signatures and working on stage ideas than discussing Ridley, Toad, 3rd party characters for the millionth time over.

Moveset: Plum!

In the land of Mario Spin-Off games we have very few characters who are Original. Plum is not only one of the ten or so that are, but she is memorable as well. Originating from Mario Golf on the Nintendo 64, she is a ready participant in smash 4. She has brushed up on her sports and party games, and is ready to battle.

Plum’s moveset is based around the idea of rewarding combo’s and juggling. So, for her sake let’s pretend that this Smash she is in has the right physics for those two things.

Up B: Catch! Plum leaps into the air with her pitchers glove. If an opponent touches her while she is using this animation they will be thrown down to the ground where they will be temporarily crushed into it. She immediately screams “OUT!” to troll you for being a n00b and if she let’s herself drop she will have time to get to your body an possibly hit you a few times, or prepare some sort of combo.

Over B: Foul Swing – This move will have Plum rapidly(and angrily I might add) swing her golf club as if she keeps missing the ball. This attack will be infinite like Fox’s infinite kick, except it can hurt foes in front, and behind her. It won’t do much damage, but is a good substitute for combo/juggling for newbie’s who don’t have a hold of that yet.

Down B: Tennis racket – Will do damage, but is more of a move to set yourself up for combo/juggling (Who would have guessed!?) She pulls her racket back and bops her opponent right in the head with it, causing them to be dazed. If you are behind her when she uses this move it won’t stun you, but will actually pull you in front of her. To, oh wait you know what, combo/juggle!

Neutral B: Mario Party Dice – This move will be based on how many times you combo or juggle your opponent before you hit them with this attack. Depending on the number or either of those, the strength will differ. This move could be a powerful KO move if you combo enough.

Other Notable moves:
Her A, A, A combo will reference DDR. She will turn facing the camera, and with the first A throw her hand in the air at an angle, hitting the opponent in the face. Second A she will bring her hand down, hitting the opponent in the chest, and last she will slide her foot out and kick the opponent. The move will have little knockback or stun, but can be combed with the following move which will cause the opponent to fall.

DownA: She ducks down and slides her foot out to the side tripping her opponent.

Hopefully this isn’t all a jumble and you can get where I was going with this! If not, please tell me if it was both this one, and my Suicune one. If so, then I'll know I need to be more clear when making these.

I never would've thought Plum could be given a moveset, you made a rather unique one! =)

I wonder if any Final Smashes will be changed from the Wii -> 3DS and WiiU transition. Personally I'd love to see Jigglypuff actually get a sensible Pokemon based Final Smash or Peach getting a Super Princess Peach type of Final Smash.

I wonder if movesets would differ between the WiiU and 3DS versions as well. Or even if the two versions will be released at the same time. So many different possibilities!

Umm,wtf do you think this is? This is a Wii U/SSB4 form right?
Everyone here got tired of stupid character discussions. All it does is fill up over 20 pages and pretty much **** everyone off.

In fact, that's the reason why I want Drake in SSB 4 :V
halo in smash is a pretty cool character. eh kills aliens and doesnt afraid of anything
Drake in smash is a pretty cool character. eh kills peoples and doesnt afraid of anything.

I had this song that I found off the internet a few years ago. Not untill recently did I discover the game of origin. Said song was a remix of the SMW2: Flower Garden found in Yoshi's Touch and Go! I stumbled upon the awesome baby yoshi and I wondered: why the hell wasn't this an AT?
Lolololol.......wut?

I will mention one thing, even though I've completed Master Chief and Nathan Drake tags. I will not be taking many more third party requests, unless the character holds a deep history or is a legitimate contender (as much as one can be). So no Kratos for SSB4 guys.

You must be an English major...? Forgot to capitalize "Baby Yoshi" as it is a title. lol

Well according to Sakurai these are the basic standards he goes off of for most characters:

1. Relevance to current generation.
2. How easy/hard it is to implement them into a fighting game.
3. Whether or not they bring anything new to Smash personality wise.

This is basically all we know and everything else is speculation to help pass the time by. Heck, development for the game doesn't start for another three months and it's probably going to be about eleven months before we see some kind of trailer.
I thought they were:

1. Must be someone people want to play (can be interpreted somewhat as someone not hated).
2. Must be adaptable for Smash (meaning 1980s Pac-Man is a no-go).
3. Must be able to do something that only they can do. This can mean that the character provides a new playstyle.

If I dig it up in the old thread. I'll post the Muddy Mole idea I had.

Ok. I found the Muddy Mole moveset from the old thread.

B: Iron Ball
Pulls out an iron ball. This has the weight of a barrel or crate and can be picked up by anyone. Muddy Mole is unique with him being able to press B on the item as well and enter a grab state similar to the one in his game. Press forward and you throw the item higher than you would a barrel. Press backward and you do a suplex that turns the ball into an anti-air with an arc. This is ideal for edgeguarding.

Side B: Dig Forward
Digs a hole in the ground and digs forward. Press B while going forward to to launch out. This is to counter projectiles while being on the offensive. While digging forward, you have the ability to time when you come out. There is a predefined max range and pressing B while digging forward will have you jump out and you can go into an aerial or double jump right from there. If you can predict your opponent, use this to counter his/her dodge rolling patterns.

Down B: Dig - This is the center of Muddle Mole's playstyle.
Dig a whole in the ground, but this will not work on platforms where you can go under (like Battlefield's platforms). With this hole, you have the following options:

Down B where the hole is and you can go into the hole. From there, you can use this to dodge ground attacks and projectiles, but this state is vulnerable to aerial attacks (think something like Link's DAir). You also have access to a stronger version of your Up B that goes straight up and comes up quick, but a well spaced and active aerial will stuff it.

You can set up to two holes at any given time. If you try to dig a third one, the first one will disappear.

Despite the defensive uses, this is a strong zoning tool. If your opponent walks over the hole, he'll fall into a pitfall like state. This is key as this is where you start your combos or perform K.O. moves. If the opponent jumps over it, a lettuce ball will shoot out and hit the opponent for minimum knockback.

If you Down B in the air, Muddle Mole goes into a downward drill state that keeps going until he lands and makes a new hole. If you do this next an opponent in the air, you'll enter a command grab state with both of you drilling into the ground. Both versions of this attack goes through transparent platforms like the aforementioned BF platforms.

If you're already in the hole, you can do Side B and have a significantly reduced startup time on it.

Up B:
Mole Drill
Works essentially like Wario's Up B.

Who wants to help figure out this riddle:

What character's name starts like this: V A (blank) (Blank) (Blank)

They have to have appeared in a 2001 or earlier title.

All I could think of was Vaati, and I don't think Minish Cap came out in time.

On a side note, Smash Land is done and it's a pretty freaking fun game. It actually feels like smash once you start getting into it. It's a rendition of Smash, as if it was made for the Game Boy. It looks awesome.

Don't forget the more recent guideline that he has shared, fighting must not be something unnatural for the character. Not in their nature.

I'm interested in Muddy Mole as of late, so I'd enjoy seeing your idea when you have the opportunity to share it.

I newer tried super smash land. I only tried out smash crusade.

Minish cap came out at around 2003 or 2004. It can't be Vaati.

:(Starphonix, you do know who Human Smoke is right?plz make one of him.
I would certainly hope that no one here knows who Human Smoke is. A Scorpion recolor? Really? REALLY?! I think that is on the same level as Popeye the Sailor.

K Rool for Brawl. Hopefully tiki idiotic generic boss never sees the light of day again.

Actually I do like the tiki's. Just Kremlins are so much better

Edit: This was actually relevant to the current conversation at some point, but my thoughts wondered and eventually arrived at the above

I'm stumped then :( There are two secret characters in the game and I already know one of them! The other is hard to get and that's the only clue we have! It can be a third party as well. 4nace was fun because he actually let us vote give a pitch on the two secret characters :awesome: Which is every SSB4 weirdos dream. I pitched Metabee, Geno, Bubbles, and Demille I think.

But yeah, the game is better than SSBC IMO because he sprited everything himself. Crusade looks to wonky and out of place for my taste.

I will always think Mortal Kombat is a pos franchise who relys on nothing more than the "OMG factor" of their goreporn fatalities, Smoke isn't a re-color anymore. He actually has his own character. Still think the game is gimmicky with it's "LOOK MOMS HATE US! LOOK HEADS COMING OFF!" crap.
