I actually was writing something like that, before my computer acted a fool. I suggested 25 or less characters, TWO B move options per character, and the team focusing stricly on balance.

(Ex: Pikachu could have Thundershock or Electro Ball, Skull bash or Iron Tail, Thunder or Double Team, Quick Attack or Volt Tackle ect)


And this is Smash, I don't think Sakurai has too much leaniency with the release date like he has with KIU.
25 characters only? That's not much. At the very least I would have 30. I'll make my roster right now.

Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong
Yoshi, Wario
Kirby, Meta Knight, King DeDeDe
Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Impa

i dont know i just believe the balace issue is just based on if the game developers pull it off.


hmmmm..

well shooter games are competitive

and they have nothing BUT customizations.

call of dutys BS is horrid though they dont know what balance is. so dont think of that as a refrence.:awesome:
Haha, but, my friend, shooters are completely different from fighters. Neither are they my forte of expertise but I'm sure shooters don't have mix-ups, fients, option selects, etc.

I think the best way to separate it is to make it a completely separate mode like Marvel's Heroes and Heralds mode. This could be that customization thing Sakurai was talking about for the 3DS version.

As for playstyles, yeah I agree that only a handful really stick out: Peach, Capt. Falcon, Jigglypuff, Marth, Fox, and Yoshi all come to mind.
  • Part 1: I think that would sastify both parties in this debate haha
  • Part 2: Don't forget Oli and Snake. That's why I want to look at a lot of movesets and see how we can change them so everyone feels like a completely new experience. Obviously, not every character can be some amazing surprise though.

@Poppy: I don't how GnW can be unique, he is as 2 demensional in playstyle (no matter how strategic a player you are) as he is a character concept.

this is just a thought, but it would be cool if there was an RPG mode in smash (won't happen probably, but:
Ike used Eruption.

Well actually....Smash does use the pokemon effective system, but only on pokemon lol.

:squirtle: gets more precents from electric attacks
:ivysaur: gets more from fire (Almost every character in Smash has a fire attack, so Ivy gets bodied)
:charizard: gets more from water (but aren't really any water attacks in Smash)

I was just thinking of some off of my head. Olimar and Snake definitely stick out. Though, do you think there should be some way to control which Pikmin you get (with the proper Pikmin balancing), and if so, how?

How would you make G&W a deeper character?

Do you think the type effectiveness thing should be tossed out to prevent some balance issues?

H&H is basically a mode where you equip cards for your team and balance is tossed out the window. There are things like Bursst X-Factor and a Parry card. Berserker might answer that one better as I don't have UMvC3?

Oh. I realize mentioning Final Smashes wasn't a good choice, but I mainly brought up items that were spawned by fighters to get my point across. Reflectors, Olimar and Zelda's transforming were things I thought would be seen as risky ideas when originally envisioned.

I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by "are even broken". I figured it was 'aren't even broken' so I went from there.

Idk how to fix, :gw: I guess it makes sense for him to be 2 demensional as a playstyle since he is a 2 demensional charcter.

My only ideas
Key
IASA Frames=Interrupt as soon as possible frames
  • Add tight IASA frames in certain spots of his moves like Bair and Nair
  • Slower smashes and make sure they have end lag so people have to actually think when using them, man how many times I see :gw:es get punished because they think because their move seems safe they can abuse it.
Idk about the effective system, I guess it can get removed, I think it was just a fan service no one really noticed. It's funny :pikachu: gets the best out of it because the only ground move is :charizard:'s rock smash. How many :pt:s do you see running around :smirk:

About :olimar: I think he should stay the way he is, I think it's perfect, if you watch players like Nietono and Brood and how they manage pikmin it adds some more skill base to:olimar: imo.


Wow. Me and you have the same idea goin' on :I I'm going to the official Pokemon Center in Tokyo (I think that's where it's at).
I'm going for the Smash community and more importantly to see if I want to live there, (I'll have to take my girlfriend with me too because she'll have say-so on it too...)

I plan on living in the Kanto region that includes Tokyo, I just hear living's expense there are crazy. inb4peoplethinkKantoisonlypokemon

As a general thought to everyone: I think Smash should add some more original stages :battlefieldb: and :fdb: were great ideas and I think they should do more. Also we need less walk-off stages and better platforming stages seeing how
  • 1, Smash isn't Street Figher
  • 2, It's PvPvS so platforming would definitely add to the versus stage part.

I'm listening to Bowser's music from Mario Galaxy right now, and it would be AMAZING for him to have a castle level in space because this music is effing epic.

I HAVE AN IDEA: Y'all know how we usually have a Mario series castle level, right? And that the Mushroomy Kingdom has an above ground and below ground level chosen at "random" right?! Well, what if they had a Peach's Castle/Bowser's Castle level in one "slot"?! Peach's Castle could have the familiar setting on Mario's planet, while Bowser's could be set in space. It would work wonders!

Yea choosing which castle was definitely part of my idea though. It would just be random if you didn't specify.

What it amounts to is in Brawl the music was arranged in categories from A-Z in Brawl's coding. Two categories were absent in the list, the "O" and the "V" categories. If you look at the list below the "O" category falls in with new and miscellaneous series (L-S). Based upon this I have long speculated that there must have been a series (whether it be a stage or character) removed from the game.

C: The Legend of Zelda Series
D: Metroid Series
E: Yoshi Series
F: Kirby Series
G: Star Fox Series
H: Pokemon Series
I: F-Zero Series
J: Fire Emblem Series

I've also heard theories on why so many things were cut from Brawl.
I know I'm late to respond, but I think now that the "O" category was going to be a "Puzzle League" music category based on my inferences. They had Dr. Mario planned for SSBB, who would have probably got his own stage. And then there's a lot of puzzle game music included in the "Miscellaneous" category - Chill, Lip's Theme, Tetris, etc.

@Iblis- YYH was the ****. Toonami is what got me into anime. My absolute favorites will forever remain Cowboy Bebop and the original Dragon Ball, but that's a discussion for another time :cool:

I really do hope we get Melee stages back in Smash 4...

It's sad, but I think the Davy Back Fight is the only One Piece arc comparable to the Cell Games... theme.

Who else would like to see Saffron City, Poke Floats and Fourside recreated in crisp HD graphics? I know I do

Also, Battlefield Melee will forever remain my favorite of all three. Dat BF theme

Buu saga was enjoyable but ****ing pointless as hell and drags on forever, kinda like the Transformers movies

Game and watch is impossible to fix unless he gets a total revamp.
He has rediculous hitbox's and KO power (2 1hko's even). but he has nothing fancy to throw people off there gaurd. The main stratedgys against him is "Don't run into ****" :V

Maybe if he had more set ups with his nuetral B.

Yeah :gw: is a cold case I guess. He's fell into a state to where only way of fixing him is extreme changes.

What's the problem with Mr.Game & Watch then? He totally sucked in Melee. Now is strong in Brawl, can't they just go with a middle of the road approach?

Actually :gw: is slowly dropping because of every figuring out how 2-D he is. Nothing is wrong with him imo. The discussion of him just came up.

He received some major power boost from Melee though. What's so 2D about him though...?? Don't understand.

It's weird, I actually DISLIKE Game andd Watch by his appearence. He's lame, unimaginative, and all around plain jane, but in Smash, I love HOW he plays. Smash is really one of those games that opens doors to the players. I would probably have never thought of playing a FE game if it wasn't for Smash. Ness? Mother? Never.

I like playing as Zelda Sheik Ganondorf, and even Link in 64, but I doubt I would have bought SS if it wasn't for Smash.

Me personally? Still at the first temple. (I don't plan on ever buying another LoZ game again) But when I went home for Christmas, I watched my brother beat the second temple, so thats how far I am. Why?

I wanna finish SS but the motion controls get annoying.

I have the same problem with PH. I can't work with those controls. I can't beat Jolene, and thus, the rest of the game. Action Replay does nothing since the problem is only the controls.

Here's hoping the 3DS strictly uses Control Stick for the main game. I'm tired of the extra controls put in that don't even work that well.

I don't care who gets in this game. I love reading speculation on characters. I have never come across a character who I thought "NO WAY!". There is no character who could turn me away from the game. Hell, they could put David Suzuki in this game, and I wouldn't give a crap.

Go back to whatever you were talking about now.
