@ ganondorf4ever
You sound familiar from the pre-Brawl days (I haven't changed my username, btw).
As much as I adore you guys, most of you cause of your sexyness... I ain't staying around for 2-3 years! At least not as active as now.
I tend to pop up and disapear.
Meah I won't disappear, but I won't be anywhere near as active.
Star Fox has not been good since 1997.
Star Fox Adventures sold over a million copies. Granted, that doesn't mean it was up to the quality of the previous two titles; it wasn't. It was a fun game, but I don't remember much of it.
I know Ridley is not a shoe-in. I have been saying it for years. Howeven, then again, Smash 4 has no shoe-ins.
I dunno, I think Ridley Mega Man, Dixie Kong or K. Rool (at least one of the two) and Mewtwo are shoe-ins or near shoe-ins. Of course, that is just my guess/opinion/view of things.
There was probably more common sense pre-Brawl than there is now (outside of the various support topic cultists). I still attest that a lot of Smash Bros. fans left the speculation scene due to Brawl adding practically all of the characters they personally wanted to see.
I have to disagree (considering the "cultists" was the majority it seemed, who felt a 500 character roster was inevitable). For example, a lot of people said "Wind Waker Young Link" had no chance. Then, those same people would get offended if anyone
even suggested that Skull Kid (from Majora's Mask) wasn't a shoe-in.
Just go to the old character discussion, and find the character support thread with all the links to the thread. There are support groups for insane choices. Not just Daisy and Birdo crazy, but Wrinkly Kong and BABY DAISY crazy! I don't see that level of insanity is here anymore (many even felt such choices were likely!). Brawl slapped some logic into peoples' brains. Now, while there are many wild card characters with support, there's nothing wrong with random old school characters like the Duck Hunt Dog. But when you start supporting Error from Zelda II, you need to see a friggen shrink!
Don't forget the awful "anti-character discussions" either. The character discussions became clicky like middle school that people made "anti-character" threads to counter them. Rather than accepting debate in the character threads, many trolled opposition (the Krystal fanbase on IGN and GameFAQs comes to mind). It was awful in several cases.
No way! There was tons of absolute ridiculousness being spouted pre Brawl. Gardevoir had an ENORMOUS following.
Hey... I actually... kinda... like... Gardevoir. I think I pitched the idea that she would make a fun character, but I thought she had next to no chance.
I think any (single) Pokémon support group isn't crazy. That is, unless they think some random Pokémon is "likely." Nothing wrong with thinking a character has a chance, but if you start dubbing random characters with minimal roles as "shoe-ins," you are just being silly. That is when things get a little weird, illogical, and often times overly emotional.
