It's not like I'm making this up, I gave you a link to a bulbapedia page that tries to explain the timeline. But enough about Pokemon lore. It's time to move onto..erm...the actual topic. Smash.

IFF BLUE was going to be a character that wasn't a costume, I would be mad. I can't even suggest a smart Pokemon trio for him that would make sense. Evee would be in there SOMEWHERE. But the rest of his Pokemon don't really DESERVE to be playable. He can be a Red alt. Costume.

Now, N. I think he could make a seperate character from Black/White.

If we got:
Pika
Jiggs
Mewtwo / Lucario YOU PICK
Pokemon Trainer Black/White (You can pick the starters, no one likes my Tep/Sam/Serp)
Pokemon Trainer N (Zoroark/Resh/Zek is the only team I can think of that would be a worthy one)

AS FOR THE STAGES BY TIMELINE IDEA... I guess I'd go with Sootopolis City, Spear Pillar, Dragonspiral Tower, aaand Pokemon Stadium 3 to round it all off. Sorry Saffron.

I would pick Indago Plat, Spear Pillar, and N's Castle. The lack of IMPENDING DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM really makes me choose DPPt over GSC. And First gen wins out against third, even though I HATE THAT.

The SHEER EPICNESS THAT IS MM AND TP possibly being linked makes LoZ timelines ALL WORTH IT. God, I love Majora's Mask...

Link? I remember reading him raging in the "What does it take to be banned?" topic. Honestly. I understand where he's coming from, but the whole tyrant thing is crap. Expecting that a message board doesn't have a set form of rules is ridiculous.

I agree that it sucks for him. But seriously, it's a game. Play other tournaments and just leave the guys alone already.

I always like to think the Arceus thing had more to do with most of the main characters being 10 or so.

Edit: Relevant conversation: Mario reps seem to have stopped by Melee, do you think we'll get any more in Smash IV, or that our next Mario reps will come from a tertiary series like Donkey Kong?

Meh, I still Arceus as the god of the Pokemon series. Too bad chances are it'll be a Pokeball and will appear 1/649, but when it appears it will be Judgement day. :awesome:

Anyway, a Mario rep, while it is deserving, so far it has been shown that there is no real support for another rep in Japan, currently and during the Brawl hype.

From Mario's own world, I don't know. But if you combine his and Donkey Kong's together, then yes, we're more than likely to get someone new.

Even without the Japanese requesting another Mario character, I think Mario will receive a fifth rep. The question is, who will be it?

Can't sleep -_- and I've said this before, The Mario series doesn't need a rep. They haven't had one for a long time. Wario doesn't count in this because of the micro-hype.

I'm pulling for Toad as the 5th Mario rep, although I don't think it's entirely implausible for Mario to get 2 slots this time around, and Jr. wouldn't be a bad choice, either.

Sakurai has said the pool for potential newcomers has thinned. Mario characters are always a safe bet as they appeal to everyone, while typically having a consistent demand.

I think Sakurai should open his peepers a bit wider. The pool has thinned, but it's not that bad. I can name ten small franchises who could have a character, and ten characters from existing franchises.

Either way, the way he makes it sound, I could see Krystal getting in because he feels there is a lack of characters, when both her, and Toad could wait a round.

Still my ultimate roster guess is this: Zoroark, Deoxys, Mewtwo, Samurai Goroh, Ridley, Dixie Kong, King K. Rool, Palutena, Medusa, Little Mac, Issac, Shulk, Chrome, Roy, Young Link, Krystal, Toad, Bowser Jr.

Some of them have specific reasons behind them. I'm thinking about adding Saki...but I'm not too sure.

You know, I see Mario characters being discussed again and this is the perfect time to bring up an idea from the past.

I think what would be neat to help Bowser Jr. stand out is to use moves involving his siblings. Prime examples would be CapCom in the MvC series and Parasoul in the upcoming Skullgirls. Here's some of her and her army in action.

The bigger question is: who's left? Yoshi, DK, and Wario have their own series of games. So exclude them and other characters from their series.

From the Mushroom Kingdom, you have Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser as playable characters in Smash Bros. Waluigi, the Hammer Bro., and Lakitu are Assist Trophies. The Green Shell is still an item. Toad is used in Peach's moveset. And nobody wants to see Dr. Mario take up a slot as a "clone" character.

Who's left? There's Daisy, but no one wants her, as she'd be a "clone" of Peach. Paper Mario's possible, but he could very well represent his own series of games. That leaves Bowser Jr.

Dr. Mario is wanted as a returning character by many characters, so don't doubt him yet. Daisy can be different with ease. Hammer Bro, Waluigi, and Lakitu still are options because this is a new game. Peach's (B) move can be tinkered with.

How about this: If you had to make a roster using only veterans and bosses/assist trophies/pokeball mons, and you could add ONE more character, what would your roster look like? Veterans can be returning ones.

I'm one of them, and I hope he does come back. Just like in Melee. I don't care about "clone" characters. Never have, never will.
