Yep. One of his most infamous works.

Anyway, I'd personally rather have a DQ character from the NES games first. The first hero from the first game. Or maybe one of the battle mages from 2.

Goroh I'm honestly not sure about.

He's in the Melee intro (like Wolf and Ridley), yet he didn't appear in Brawl...

He's really the only shot we have at a second F-Zero rep.

Sounds a lot more complicated than a tornado but it looks really good. Much better edgeguard than Watergun/FLUDD. If there was a bit of a delay so that when pushing towards Link, there's enough time to charge a Smash Attack/deploy bomb etc.
As for Wind Waker exclusiveness, the counter sounds good. My old moveset had the Deku Leaf, Skull Hammer, and Grappling Hook. Bombchus and the Sword Beam could be used from Phantom Hourglass and that he has a costume from the 8-bit games. I didn't play Four Swords or Spirit Tracks so I'd have to look it up on the wiki
But yea, since characters seem to be judged off Specials most, Toon Link could use these items/attacks.

Now this thread is going to devolve into requests for Goku and other idiotic tangents. I should know better by now...

On to F-Zero, I am not sure if there is any character I truly support. Black Shadow is just stupid, Blood Falcon is the same as Shadow, Samurai Goroh is unappealing, Jody Summers could be interesting I guess, Dr. Stewart would be awesomely strange, Pico isn't going to happen, and everyone else is too obscure to count.

Which was replaced by Wario, who is a part of the Mario series, and has his own games. Toad is technically playable via Peach, so he has his appearances. Bowser Jr. is very likely, due to being what could be called a main villain now. He, along with any of the Mario RPG(SMRPG, Paper Mario, M&L) characters all have fair chances. Since Toad is atleast part of a move, he does something for the players in general. It'd be great if he got in, but he's only really playable in one main game, but countless spinoffs. I'd like to see him too.

Still, I'm thinking the lack of interest Sakurai has in adding more Mario characters TO ME, signals Wario being the final element. Although you never really know. I'm going to guess that we won't see Junior or that hack Toad playable, but I could be wrong.

Someone have a link to Sakurai's feelings on Mario characters, I swear he's not that interested in adding anymore. I mean, I think Toise is pretty dead on. The fact that mainstream Mario characters have a tough time getting in should say something about the RPG/Paper/Sports characters. Although I do think Geno is a cool choice. Not a big fan of Paper Mario though.

Well I guess the only hope for another Mario rep is what Sakurai stated about the West and how he does look towards it for some ideas.

Although I think our support will get Ridley and Little Mac in and that's it.

It really only sounds complicated because I was thinking of it on the fly. But yeah, the wind would definitely make for a playstyle around edgeguarding, and the only other character I can think of that would get such a treatment is Isaac.

I don't remember exactly but I do remember that Mario did have some stronger fire power then normal, especially during the combination attacks.

Probably just because they both wield katanas. I don't think they could be too similar, though. Goroh looks more of the BRAWLER type, whereas Takamaru would probably have more deliberate strikes.

I kind of wonder how Goroh would play. He should be fast, powerful, and heavy. I guess that means slow attacks? Poor recovery? I'unno.

Problem is he has to compete with Falcon's flashiness, which is a losing battle from the beginning, lol.

Playing Super Mario RPG after learning Mario's Final Smash I immediately noticed a similarity between the two. It was pretty cool to me at the time. Super Mario RPG influencing a moveset is not new or surprising. Several of Peach's moves come from Super Mario RPG.

I'd say ones that weren't clearly made up. Giga Bowser is made up via being a Smash-only reference.(I would've liked the Koopa Clown Car myself. )

Dunno why, but I can't see Goroh having decent recovery. Like, at all.

I was thinking Sakurai might incorporate some wrestling moves or whatever for him a while back. That sounds kinda dumb now that I think about it, but ah well.
