If you have to make the the tournament time later in the day then don't tell everyone! You should all know tournaments start 2 hours late. Say it starts at 10 then everyone will show up at 12! Perfect plan.

Oh my goodness. RONALD I LOVE YOU! He's got the whole venue fee covered guys...amazing. What a pro. Which leaves only one more thing to deal with: the damages and replacement fee. It must be paid in check, which I think means they will not cash it unless they have to. If no one has checks, I can get some today and whoever is helping with that can just give me the money to put in my account to be sure it's there, and once this all pans out I can return it to you.

Going to check out the venue now...

Also, I am thinking that perhaps we should drop MK9 for this tournament. I don't want to have too many people in the venue if it only accommodates 80. After I go check it out though we'll see. If this tournament is a huge success, then we can maybe hold another one later and get a bigger venue for that one.

I highly doubt we'll get more than 50 entrants for this tournament, let alone 80. All the same people will be entering SSFIV, MVC3, and MK9.

IDK, have you checked the amount of oos interest? It's huge lol. More than 50 seems likely, considering that there are so many games going on.

Well...the venue will indeed work well. We'll be a bit crammed with all those people, but that's alright. We'll just have to keep everything organized neatly and it will work perfectly. I'm also checking with the Embassy Suites Hotel that is very near UNM and the Convention Center. They have several meeting rooms that are much larger, and would easily accommodate 100+ people. Just doing a bit of pricing comparison to see what happens with that.

But just FYI, the Paradise Hills CC is near James Monroe middle school. It's got a decent size strip mall up the street with many different places for food, and of course the mall about 4-5 miles east of that. Now obviously the Embassy Suites would have all sorts of places to eat, including Frontier very close by.

EDIT: Ahahahahahahahah...lol. Not gonna happen on the hotels I think. I got hold of a sweet hotel in old town, and they said it would probably be about 2-3 thousand dollars for the rental. Nope. Definitely not happenin'.

Also, at what point should we do a cut off for bracket and do pools instead?
A pool of 4-5, top 3 making it out may be necessary to lower the number of entrants to 32 or something of that nature.

Everett and I hosted an X-Topia tourney one time that had 74 entrants or something like that. And we did one giant bracket for it...THAT was hard. It went smoothly, but it's not worth the effort, lol. We won't need to make pools for teams thankfully.
