Hey all.

I don't consider myself to be a Ness pro, everyone does his or her shares of errors, but I saved this 3 videos from a tournament on Saturday. I also have more replays from 2008 friendlies I never uploaded, which I'll use someday for a compilation. I've also been hanging out on the Lucas boards more often.

You barely use PKT though..... Learn the mindgames and you will kill much faster. :)

Nice texture hacks too. :p Do you use that Bubbleman Lucas when you play Lucas?

Those were some very good matches there Bubbleman. Your defensive game was very good with your backwards DIed fastfalled fairs and pivoted PKFs.

You may want to learn how to EIDI on Marth though. I noticed he hurt you a bit with his CG.

I was about to comment on that too.
Good matches and Ness:] you have nice spacing with fair +PKfire
aside from the more PKT2 mindgames, you only used the yo-yo once, and it didn't really do much. :[
I would say use more Yo-yo :]

Yeah, I made custom textures for Ness and Lucas. Lucas got to be Bubbleman (which I didn't like much, looks like a walking plant) and Ness wears Quiksilver clothes & accessories now.

I used to use the Yo-yo often, but it was to edgeguard like if it were Melee (charging it near the edge to "cancel" sweetspots). It all depends on who am I fighting, like Falco, Fox or any other character that can't attack under the edge.

Most of those things, I brought them over from Melee, but I had to change most of them in order to apply them to my Brawl style. As I said earlier, I'm no pro, but I'm gonna go for it soon.

Okay, so I managed to find the doubles finals video from one of the tourneys I went to, so I figured despite me not quite being at my peak that day, I figured the vids might as well be posted here for the lulz in the second match.

NOTE: I did grab spam a bit in a couple of the matches, but only because it's amazing for Ness in doubles and fthrow helps to create spacing when you have a charizard behind you waiting to heal your ***. Also, I realize I performed quite terrible in the first match it was early and I still felt rusty 80% of that day for not playing enough beforehand, forgive me. >.>

Hi ness players! I'm a toon link main, but I play ness for low tier and just for fun since he's so badass. I was in a low tier crew battle annd it was recorded sooo here it is =]. Tips are definitely welcomed. I didnt use much pk fire in the second match cause I dont have much luck with it against mario.

That fact that you won the 2nd match made me happy (The error you made at the start of the match...what happened there if you don't mind my asking?)

BTW very nice overall...you should main Ness, **** Tink!

Overall good call on lowering PK Fire use with Mario...afterall that stage is one of those areas where I would rather not use it...plus it is pretty easy for Mario to get out of it to a point...

I wonder if the other guy was tired of hearing PK Thunder by the time this was ending? Nice Ness again...I kind of wish you would have hit the other guy with PKT2 during that PKT juggle event you were doing to him...

Also...don't you love Ness' smash attacks?...They are just like his special moves for how they work...in that they punish errors...but if you miss you are open

Thanks for the kind words folks, and the comments. As for the grablock, I know about the EIDI, but my controller is getting old and didn't want to do it, so I just had to play at the edge. Also, I just can't get it to work as I suck. =( Also, I don't really PKT2, dunno why.

I won another tourney this weekend, so I've got some more finals vids if anyone wants to watch. The Rainbow Cruise one is my favorite, because I totally get what I deserve for the first death.

Oh man...RC just hated your guts in more then one way (although I the way Tink lived from your BThrow at the end was stupid as well) ^_^

You could have two stocked him with a Fthrow I think on the 2nd pass of that stage if you had grabbed him at ground level at around 2:40 or so (it was after he knocked you off the ship and the start of the climb...

Nice...Dair is a set up for Fsmash as you saw...and just a friendly note for you...at 130-140% or so Lucas' kill throw starts to show up on Ness as well...just telling you in case you didn't know...of course do note that all of Lucas' throws can kill somewhat...so remember...even if you live from Dthrow...don't get grabbed again because Uthrow will finish the job if Dthrow failed...

Granted Lucas' Fsmash is better than his kill throws by far...but just saying...

Dsmash is a fun kill move as well for what it does (punishes spot dodging and rolling) it pretty much makes Ness' yoyo tricks look like **** IMO ^_^

Now that I just remembered... sorry for not have sparred with you for Ness dittos not even once at the first SCSA Vice. I saw you, Oats and Blanco having a MOTHER only fight and I was -ABOUT- to join in as well but my friend said it was time to jam since we had to leave ( he was my ride ;__; ). Next time for sure, we're Ness ditto'ing. Or if we all 4 ( MOTHER mainers ) happen to be in the same room together, we gotta have a FREE FOR ALL.

Clinton, yea once I hit that dmg range i start to remember about Lucas's grab lol. i actually don't mind being in that range vs him cause that means he's thinking of going 4 a grab more than usual and If I'm looking 4 it I'll have an easier time punishing him when he whiffs it. Basically it's the 90-110 percent range I'm scared of cause i don't want to get hit bythe stick lol. the dsmash is pretty hard to get hit by, u just gotta be aware of it's range. If the 2nd two hits of it hit u it's not very likely that it's gonna KO. It's the first hit u gotta watch out 4. This lucas never really used nair because I kept him at bay so much w/ fair, it's too risky using nair againt a fair spammer like me lolz.

Fupoo-I really liked your video. Someone your clips were just your opponants being big dumbs (like the fox using his up B right next to u charging a bat wtf lol) but u had sum really good footage. Good spikes, good fair to double jump nair combo's, and my favorite part of the vid was when u daired a peach and followed it up w/ a jab lock bat. i have trouble remembering to jab lock when a situation comes up so it's cool to see a ness do one in a match. Ahhh, wish you coulda jumped in, woulda been fun. We'll play for sure at teh next tournament we go to, can't believe we didn't then. Do'h!

I wouldn't exactly call it spectacular by today's standards, but considering it's from April 08, that was really good. No doubt if you picked up Ness again you would be pretty ****, just if you do pick him up, try not to use fsmash so much and don't get so risky with on-stage pkt2.

I love your use of Dair, PKT and PK flash (rarely works but great for mind games). Epic DI. You seem to use a wide array of moves to pretty good effect. You might have won if not for the questionable 2nd death. Avoid toe to toe with Ike as his AAA move is so annoying (awesome if you are Ike, though).

-spike on the recovering fox
-all the 'my PKT is way out there so you think you can get me but suddenly you are KO'd by PKT2'
-your mastery of Nair

The music makes me wonder; is there a correlation with Ness fans and fans of techno music? I listen to trance/techno/house 90% of the time.

only thing i really noticed, was alot of times when u dash attacked u could have dash grabbed and probably got a K.O. other than that it was pretty good.

It's like I really exist and the things I experience really happen! :laugh:

He seemed vulnerable to PKT on account of not being used to it, and meanwhile, yes, I simply did not know he had frame advantage with jab on my shield. That's a noobie mistake, but I won't make it again.

AND OMFG you have no idea how pissed I was at that second death. ... well I mean I didn't freak out but even now, looking at the vid it makes no sense. It must be that I lost my second jump, but I don't see where it happened.

I find it interesting you would compliment my Dsmash and DI. I noticed I didn't DI his dairs... it didn't cost me a stock, though. And I only used Dsmash once, didn't I? And it just lured him into Usmash.
I'd appreciate an elaboration on strong points as well as weak. 'Cause I'm just egoistic like that. :dizzy:

I only saw one of those, when Ike was on ~150, right? I was surprised how often I was dash attacking, actually... since before that day it seemed I was neglectful of its use while practicing. I tend to grab excessively. I guess I overcompensated?

It's cool to know I can decide to "Do X more" just before an event and actually succeed, lol.

MY BAD! I am sick today so my head must be cloudy. I meant DAIR, not Dsmash. I also forgot to compliment your airborn PK fires just before landing on the platform; they successfully surprised him.
