I'd like to watch some recent replays of your tournaments Smash64. From what I've seen, we have a similar playstyle but you use PK Thunder less than me. It would be pretty cool to play you irl sometime :)

I will post the results from my first tourney when the results are published.
I've become 10th or 15th from the 6o people.
Only Ness.
I was unluck in bracket. Had to go against Istudying who became 2nd. He used diddy ad IC didn't know the matchup.
And after that I had to go against Kaak a GAW main. I know the matchup but I wasn't prepared for that.
But I got them every time to 1 stock high percents. So.... I did petty well for mah first tourney.

(waits for iMac)
I need to get in some practice with some of you guys so i can at least attempt to do well in a tourney. I haven't played anyone in a while...
Good stuffz! keep it up! i'll try and ketchup, but I'm somewhat feeling that i suck and won't get any better for a long time (but i haven't tried out my new skillz yet on anyone, so who knows)... yay negative attitudes!

Don't doubt yourself. How can I put this. If you say you suck, then there are things you can improve on. If you lose a match, then there are things you should figure out. For example. If you were to play someone and lose in less than three minutes, you should save that replay, even if you did lose. Just so you can see what your opponent was doing and what you were doing. This is a great way to see how your opponent plays.

First, check if they have a pattern. Chances are they do. What are their most common attacks? Do they like to block or dodge? You want to look for the smallest things and figure out how to punish your opponent. If you lost, then you obviously did something wrong. If you were close to winning, then maybe you're almost on your opponents level.

See where you went wrong. What attacks worked for you and which ones didn't? Do you roll a lot? Do you like to block or dodge? You most likely want to mix that up. Actually, you want to mix a lot of things up, but don't think so hard on the process? Subject? I can't figure out which word I'm looking for. Anyway, what attacks left you open and how can you make better use of these attacks?

The majority of players suck. I know I do and I'm not enjoying it just as much. That's the one step it takes to realize that there are better players than you. Until you realize that, you're not going to get any better. And so like you, everybody needs to figure out their mistakes and hopefully learn from them. Also, read my sig. Maybe you'll get the motivation.

l don't mean to jump in ( I was lurking here to see that FOW kid ****** or something he 2-0'd everyone in his pool lmfao), but I seem to have that problem where I dunno how to figure how to punish my opponent. I use Ness for some lulzy time in friendlies, but since it's a player-related thing, that's like my biggest problem. I have really good observation skills and pick up most fighting patterns / playstyles quickly but, the problem is that l cannot never find a way to punish that pattern :(. I'm always scheming through my head to look for a way but l end up losing the set :( Help a fellow player out?

You should probably ask this in the Q&A thread. But I'll go ahead and do my best to answer. Let's say you're fighting someone with a tether grab. Someone like Link, Toon Link, Samus, Lucas, whoever. You've got a couple of options to punish them if they missed you. You can go with just about any attack you want. But the quickest and possibly most effective method to go for would be to grab them back.

Now, this isn't exclusively for Ness only. Whoever you're using at that time can grab the opponent. Same thing applies for a slow attack. If Marth decide to SH > dair, for whatever inexcusable reason, you can do whatever you want to punish him. If you're Ness and you go for an f-smash on him, chances are he'll be able to block it or even perfect shield it on time. That's where again you go for the grab and not the f-smash.

Now if your opponent likes to spotdodge, see what attacks delay or have start up lag. Something would be like Lucas' u-smash. If D3 decided to spotdodge because he saw you coming, Lucas' u-smash would most likely hit D3 because it has start up lag. That's another thing, Lucas' u-smash has start up lag. So if Lucas missed, you can punish him with any attack since it also has ending lag.

It's somewhat difficult for me to explain how to punish an opponent. If you're observant and they have a pattern, follow that pattern of theirs and then punish from there. I don't know. If Mr. Game & Watch likes to attempt grabbing you, you can spotdodge that and grab him or hit him with another attack. Preferably a neutral attack or whatever is safest. Of course all of this is easier said than done. Sometimes you know what someone is going to do, but can't exactly figure out how to punish it. I've been there.

You guys should have seen it. FOW's Ness beat up on Inui in the west coast vs east coast brawl crew battles. While not a tournament result, I just had to let you know everyone there was watching how great Ness can be =)

That's good to know. Though it would have been so much more better on live stream if you ask me. ]:< Is Genesis already over? I heard that it is. I'm a bit disappointed. I thought that would have been a lot longer.

Would it even be worth it to post tourneys we entered about 6-18 months ago? I never realized this thread even existed XD.

That is the best thing I have heard about Genesis, and I followed the entire tournament.

Lol @ Inui bashing Ness in the SBR character discussion.

Inui looks like a n00b for writing that. That could be said about any character.

I don't think I've ever literally done more than snicker at a post from smashboards until I read Inui's in the SBR Ness discussion. Seriously DIED laughing. And am a little irked, haha.

Going to a tourney this weekend, Ness all the way! Will post results when I get back! Might only do teams though, because I am SILLY poor right now :p
