really? I check the list daily and I've seen no one but Me and PP on the Melee side. Did you sign-up as DJRome? And yes, I'm housing with NC, but I'm not paying, at least no where near $60. I don't have that money. If I had it I would pay it right away, but I don't, and I know I won't. That's my problem.

but yeah i never got why we never did character specific stage bans. 64 does it with ness/saffron city. i think mushroom kingdom 2 should be legal if theres no fox.

I agree with Great Bay, amazing teams stage. But MK2 should be banned, it's way way to small of a stage.

also , why can't we have character specific stage bans? if foxes camp that stage easier, it's autobanned against fox. there are too many stages that get banned just because fox is gay as hell. GREAT BAY IS A GOOD STAGE!

It also has those weird fall-through places on them(it's not just the seel).

There's probably more to it than that but I can't think of it right now and I don't know any other arguments against it since I've never heard of such a weird concept.

character specific stage bans are before even melee's time. in 64 you can't pick saffron city if someone is ness. i don't know why melee and brawl don't do it, because there are stages only banned because of one character.

Pretty much all of the votes cast were against Floats and Japes, NC's favorite stages.

What I'll never understand is the fact that you can still play on your favorite stages without it being mid-tournament. Friendlies, and even MMs can have those stages allowed. If it has been decided by the MBR that Japes and Floats(among others) are unfit for competitive play in tournaments, then why do you just assume that you can never play on them again?

I think Japes, Floats, Rainbow and Mute City should all be banned. I love playing on all of them, though, with the exception of MC.

So is there another tournament before Christmas? My exam week is kinda soon and I'm sure it's like that for most of you.

I don't care who, but someone has to host a Melee tourney, before Pound. I would, but I need a venue because I can't use my house.

I should talk to JMH and see about him doing something at his shop place. He's wanted to for a long time now, but something always comes up. Usually another tourney pops up, and he ends up worrying about short notice or whatever. It's very possible (although not certain yet) that he can provide the location. If that works out, would someone(s) be willing to help out with TOing and such? Also, what upcoming weekend would be best, if any?

I mean, I knew stages were banned because of a single character, but I've never heard about the concept of autobanning a stage vs the character in which the stage is banned for.

Random lasers suck too.

And there's supposedly some dumb Ness strategy there(involves the lower gun).

And I think you can do that weird fall-through glitch there.

tbh, when i first saw the classic Neutral/CP/Banned chart, i was wondering why that stage wasn't all red, like Hyrule, cause those ships are ****ing shooting you...

which now makes me sad since those two were my favorite stages before i played competitively.

Lol, I remember when Gofg tried that strategy on me at Pembroke when I was playing mewtwo. He took me to corneria and went down there. So I just sat up on the wing and he was like, "You know you have to come down here after me otherwise I'll just tech the shot and then heal to full every time and I'll win." I was just like, "Nah dog, you'll mess up." Eventually he messed up.

The MBR needed to turn a neutral into a CP so we could do stage striking. It was decided that PS is the least neutral of the 'neutrals.'

Also, with stage striking, PS is rarely the stage that is decided upon(when tested between several matchups), so it would be CP'd if it was going to be CP'd regardless.

When I play Pika when I CP depends on the character its usually a Neutral or Corneria.

Well BEHR, it's kind of hard for me to answer this without saying something that sounds totally mean.

MBR is supposed to make rules that are best suited for competition, not fun, or fairness for that matter. If you want to have fun, you should friendly or go to fests. If you want competition/serious matches, then you enter tournaments(obviously I still want you to show up to tournaments because of bro love, but I'm generalizing here).

though i think the new stage selection set makes melee look more like brawl. there are soo many stages in brawl and none to choose from. i miss the good ol' days of mlg.

edit: now that i think of it, fox ****s everything up. We used to play on corneria as a neutral when our memory cards were erased/we didnt have them. tampa bay was the ****.

i'm a noob, but it pretty much depends on when you run the tourney. it seems like NC has something every weekend, but i guess depending on certain things like venue and location and the chance to attract new people into NC Smash, i bet a good bit of us would come to a tourney hosted there.
