So you're telling me that two female ponies can't hang out in scenes together without it being, "Oh, they're lesbians!"

So you're telling me what you can't use the name Derpy without someone going, "OMG! That's an insult to the mentally challenged!" (When it clearly isn't, I'm fairly sure this person is offended for the sake of being offended and nothing more).

And you're telling me that people can't ignore a silly children's show that happens to be super popular for the moment, but will probably fade once it's done?

it's not just about the name of a random background pony

the fact that a few people can pressure a studio into changing their show, by pushing their political correctness/hatred of gay marriage onto others, means that something is wrong with our society

Well then something's very wrong with that part of the fandom. She's had one major appearance for a few minutes of one episode, there's absolutely no reason for her to be part of the "core of the show" in any way. I can see why she could be important to the fandom to some people, but even then her no longer being called Derpy or whatever shouldn't be a problem because that's how it was for her up until a few weeks ago and people have been liking her for over a year now. This whole thing isn't important enough to care about, it's not like they're writing out Applejack or anything like that.

The issue isn't, at this point, about the show. It's about what these actions' implications are, and what the outcomes mean. You can say, "Sure, it doesn't really matter what they do, let them whine, it's a kid's show." But I think that the fact that this sort of influence can be exerted over anything someone feels it "offensive" or "insulting" means that this isn't going to be the only consequence of this era of political correctness. Other things will fall under attack.

Sorry, soapboxing. But I think the future applications worry me the most, not necessarily what happens with the show.

So apparently the only difference between Lyra and Bon Bon and Marceline (sp, don't watch AT that much) and Bubblegum is that Lyra and Bon Bon do not talk to each other, ever. AFAWK, BFFs.

And as for Derpy, if it's just one person complaining, so be it. It's completely up to "censorship" that we oh so despise. Also Faust has little to no influence in this as she continuously reminds us through her dA replies that storyboard wise, it's been completely up to the producers.
