I just don't see the point of Christmas. The whole thing just seems like an empty charade with no meaning. To me, anyways. And there's only one Christmas song that I'll actually listen to. I just appreciate the 2 weeks to myself.

The meaning is business. Businesses get taxed at the end of the year based on product count (from what I've heard) and 1 way to get taxed less is to sell more. Thank the government for making this holiday into a shopping holiday

I can see the point behind this, although there's a lot of things I find worth being exultant. Christmas is not among my favorite holidays, even though I love them all at least a smidgen, but I enjoy the jubilant feelings I can gift to others, and that's my one reason that holds integrity.

I just appreciate the 2 weeks to myself.

That's what it's becoming to me with all these buying rages tbh. But people usually buy stuff for others because they care about them right? That's fine imo, but the buying gets so much stress

I usually don't go out of my way to get anything for anyone...

But on the return side, I don't really feel bad when people don't get stuff for me. IDK, Christmas doesn't feel all that special to me :\

Don't worry. It's only for a few months. You get to spend the other 10 or so months learning how to hate mainstream media and elevator music.
Also, some stores will start with the Christmas stuff as early as October, so you can start Hating101 as early as then.

I disagree, but I feel the need to specifically mention MJ's "Give Love On Christmas Day". I love that song, and really goes with how I do Christmas: sitting back and relaxing

Also, Christmas music is really fun to play.

But not nearly as fun as American military music and marches in general. Played some of that last year and it was by far my favorite year in band.

Also, some stores will start with the Christmas stuff as early as October, so you can start Hating101 as early as then.

Far too commercial. And no one gets me anything anyways. If they do, it's only my parents, and it's always something that they have to do, because it's the holiday. And I'm sick of hearing about Christmas when it isn't even December. Just another thing that commercialism makes me hate.

On top of all that, the few things I would like I never get. So that doesn't really help my feelings about it, either. If you wanna give to someone cause you appreciate the/like them/love them/friendship/whatever, that's fine. Let's just not make it a corporate deal. :/

I love seeing my family

& in the past two years I've learned the amazing feeling that giving gives you
I LOVE seeing people happy and Christmas time is the time I see people the most happy

I wish the good part of people would come out more often and didn't need a holiday just to see people be good to each other but I'm not going to complain

yeah, it's their job and how they support themselves, but unfortunately, their efforts do force the materialistic side of Christmas a bit much.

For me, someone being my friend or caring for me for an entire year is more than enough of a gift. Anything else is just extra and I don't really see it as a necessity.

I agree, she really should further her career in Canterlot. If her friends are really her friends, they'll let her leave to follow her dreams. Plus, they can all still stay connected through PonyBook.
