Thats Shadowloo Showdown, OHN is 28th-29th May, our qualifier is acutally this weekend at Retrosmash

the last ohn only had something like a combined entrance of 50 people. shadowloo showdown and bam each had between 150-300. the centre of the 2d fighter world in aus has shifted.

also consider there hasn't been a proper mvc3 tourney in syd since the game came out -- and melb's had 3 already. ever since sig/fab stepped down as principal ohn organisers, it's been downhill for them ever since

The last OHN was mid July 09, SF alone had 86 entrants so I'm not sure where this 50 has come from and the Fact still remains that OHN9 is the only Evo Qualifier in Aus and that it will be the first acknowledged Aus Major for the year.

I will agree that more Melbourne is a bigger community now, just a little weird to compare Tournaments over a year apart

Keep in mind that the 'last OHN' was a while ago (2009 if memory serves), and last year evo apac was essentially the OHN for the year. It had ~120 entrants, and was purely a SSF4 tournament (with Daigo in attendance no less.)

(I did get 2nd in TvC in a tournament of 6 players though >.>)

And sydney has had 2 mvc3 tourneys since release. So...who are you getting these numbers from? >.>

MVC players in sydney. i was there last week, so i take it it's a gross underestimation -- the shrinking size is apparent nonetheless

also test, '09 melb hit 250 ppl with the first bam, so it was really bigger from that year onwards

also, pretty sure momochi choco blanka mago tokido & gamerbee makes anything evo-officialised not as good

Not quite sure where this statewise one-upmanship is coming from, but hey, lemme know as soon as Toxy beats Humanbomb in tournament (OOH I WENT THERE. But not really, I dun carez). Also you missed Uryo and Poongko. >.>

Funny thing with sydney at the moment is that the scene for everything (well, sf/mvc3, tekken is still going fine) is in an awkward spot since the place we've been having our meets really isn't accommodating our needs in various ways and so people aren't turning up like they used to, etc etc.

i think i am stuck with the hard ones with hard characters like

yeah tak... after you and redact agreed the game was bull**** because of x factor, which was my reason for being happy the game is dead. also combo dmg is just stupid, theres no metagame outside of hope you get the first hit. and for the record i dont play online mvc3 anymore, only ssf4 its actually playable
