Most Memorable 2008 Moment

Okay guys, 2008 is almost over and 2009 is almost a week away. Alot of stuff has happened during this year such as the olympics, the presidential election, the crisis, and not to mention Bush almost getting hit in the face.

So what's your most memorable moment in 2008? it can be about anything in general including SWF.

Mine would have to be fleeing from Hurricane Ike which wasn't a very pleasant trip when I headed to Dallas, but I must admit I kinda of enjoyed it since I actually had a month off break from work.

2008 had many memorable moments. From anticipating Brawl's release to Bush having a shoe thrown at him. For me Obama becoming president elect would be my most memorable moment. I watched the news that entire day and stood up most of the night until I saw the result. Bush having a shoe thrown at him comes close second though. I've always wanted to see that happen before he left office. I can die in peace now.

Edit: I forgot about Bernie Mac's passing. R.I.P Bernie. I cried...

• When the Giants beat the Pats in the superbowl and won me 5$
• The time period on smashboards when every thread was, Brawl sucks, No melee sucks, Brawl vs Melee
• George Carlin's passing, not a good mem, but meorable
• Obama's electoral a$$whooping on John Mccain
• LittleBig Planet!!!!!

-My car got totalled. (by a drunk driver)
-I came out of the closet.
-Brawl came out (not the closet, the store)
-I ate a ton of bugs at Cedar Point, OH theme park on millenium force (my shirt was black almost, and there were bugs cemented to my face, even in my teeth)
-I got plastered at the beach 6 days in a row.
-I got ok grades in the spring, great ones this past fall.
-Playing tons of disc golf was awesome.
-I purchased a 360.

this year was... ehhh, lets just say I have higher hopes for 09

Yeah, come to think about it alot of events really did happen in 2008. I can't quite say which was the most memorable though. Who could possibly forget Obama winning the election, watching Michael Phelps set the record for gold medals in the Olympics, The economic crisis and it's impact on everyone, deaths of Tim Russert, Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes.

For me personally though I'd have to say my vacation to Alaska. Most beautiful land I ever saw. Trees, Mountains, several animals such as bears and moose (Even though I only saw 1 moose ) I also ran up a mountain and threw a snowball off the top of it on June 24 in Juneau and Rock Climbed in Skagway.

When I went to Cedar Point back in August the exact same thing happened to me on the Millenium Force around 7 P.M. I didn't get it as bad but I wonder if we went on the same day. Lol. My favorite ride there.

Obama is up there along with going to my first smash tourney, and graduating.

Personally, I had the two best nights of my life, neither of which I can go into detail with because Azua just closed Las Pictoras for people talking about things far more tame than what occured on said nights. Another great night that I can talk about is going to my first masquerade ball. It was one of the most surreal things I've ever experienced. That was also the night I asked out my current g/f.

On a broader scale, The Giants winning the Superbowl was memorable even from an Aussie's point of view. The whole LHC panic that occurred during the middle of the year was pretty hilarious.

That's about all I can think of right now.

I went on my 1st cruise(Bahamas)
I met probably the coolest chick in the world. She plays brawl watches anime and is sexy. I mean u can't get better then that.

But im already looking forward to 2009. I mean a year where not 1 not 2 but 3 new kingdom heart games are coming out? Umm HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On January 1st 2008: a boy tried to lick a random girl in the street's face. Another boy thought he'd sober up by taking 2 dumps, one on an Audi, one on a BMW. An old man (The New Year's Pixie I swear) told me and my friends about the benefits of requesting the services of ugly prostitutes (I'll spare the details). We witnessed a hilarious fight where one man ran out of the 24hour store with a fresh bottle of liquor, only to smash it over a guy's head (waste of money?), after which he was tackled by 15 police officers. We (a group of about 9 boys) ended up walking a lone, drunk lesbian home, and helping to persuade her angry gf to let her back in the house. We raided the residence halls of University College London, stole every last bit of food and alcohol from every floor's fridge, attacked the entire student population there with fire extinguishers, and camped in an empty dorm room with our spoils of war.
I live for New Year's, 01/01/2009 better be as good.

Gotta be the election. The hype for it, for so long, was huge. I mean, I followed the dojo closer than I did the election, and Brawl's been bigger for me personally, but seeing Obama win? Brawl's a good way to spend a few (hundred) hours. The election's history, and I helped make it. That's a moment worth remembering.

An honorable mention to Phelps, though. That was epic.

Memorable things that happened in 2008 for me:
-I get turned down by the Dutch Airforce;
-I get turned down at my black belt exam for karate, for the second time;
-Dutch football team beating Italy, France and Romania, being THE most promising team to win the Eurocup, only to be beaten by Russia with a Dutch coach directly when we got into the brackets;
-I traveled through Europe by train for 3 weeks, seeing 7 big cities(Paris, Nice, Rome, Venice, Prague, Berlin and Copenhagen); Realized I want to travel the whole world;
-Was planning to go to college, but I decided to not do it on the very last moment(like a week before it started);
-Got hired by a Mercedes-Benz dealer and getting my degree in Car Mechanics right now;
-Decided I want to go to the Rock Academy and thus decided what I wanna do with my life;
-My first performance with my band;
-My first time seeing the man that changed my total look on life: Youp van 't Hek live!;
-My grandfather passing away due to cancer;


But I still haven't got laid . Well, the year is not over yet, I still have a chance!

2008 sucked and I think that last year was better.
However, there is one thing that blew me out of the water and that was Little Big Planet.
That game and Metal Gear Solid 4 (online ) totally changed my opinion about the PS3. The E3 presentation 4 LBP blew me away and gave my creativity knack a *****. That's all I have to say- carry on...
