I'd say you know nothing about the music industry other than trying to sound like a typical "oh lol I don't like mainstream stuff because it's considered more individual for me not to".
Honestly, who does she sound like to you? Your father or something? She really sounds like nobody; writes and is involved with more songs on one Album than Madonna has in her entire career and basically per sales to Madonna, based on Madonna's first few years (which are all completely boring to me), obliterates her (and Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera, and Kylie Minogue (even during all of their peaks - Vogue, Baby One More Time, Dirrty, Can't Get You Out of my Head/Locomotion)).
She sounds NOTHING like Bjork. And if you fall into stupid pop culture (like you just did) and ignore songs and fall on "she seems like a blah blah copy - outside of music, because you know, I'm saying now that they don't sound alike but somehow they are alike outside of music", then lol.
As much as I hate falling on the sales bandwagon, the minute she's compared to "Madonna" who copied artists from the 70's, it's brought up.

Everyone copies everyone now.
I don't give a eff about acting different with music tastes, which is what a lot of insecure people tend to do, lol.
The irony is the Internet's big mouth on it all, and it's of course much more accepted (safe) to just take some dumb elitist stand when it comes to almost all artists/copycats/people we're not forced to listen to/need an excuse to spout off mouth.
So basically, everyone has different tastes and if it bothers you at all that someone who you claim will die off in a few years (then 2 seconds later cover your bases in case she does last, lolwut?), then lol.

I agree with your stance on her, though, Nova.
But I still think she's no more than a money *****.
Yeah, everyone copies or sounds like everyone else, but it's the small differences that matter.
She has a terrible voice, not nearly as bad as Beyonce or Christina Aguilera or ANYONE before her, but to me it's still bad.
I liked Telephone, I got over it in a day.
Her songs are meaningless and generic, just like all the others, and if she makes (or has made) a 'meaningful' song, it's only for the money and reputation / attention.
It's just like movie/tv stars, I hate them all.
Michael Jackson, though. <3 He was awesome, till he looked like a total freak, but he was still awesome.

I think she is just a fad.
Like Beyonce / Destiny's Child, it was good, got stale, now she's milking herself for all she's worth, even though she has no talent, at all. She's just a big enough suck-up ***** ***** to get that far.
Like most other 'mainstream' singers.
I don't listen to non-mainstream to make myself an individual, but because it's not ****.

Yah, she's one of the better female pop artists around, but so was beyonce a few years ago and what's-its-face a few years before that, and that other person a few years before that.

I've started to get into classical music a little bit, but mostly just piano and stuff like that. Been listening to a lot of Erik Satie (apparently he was friends or went to music school or something with Debussy, which is why a lot of his work got overshadowed, but his stuff is really nice) and Alexander Borodin.

Everyone should just listen to stuff that sends their feet-a-tappin' or their heads-a-banging or their bodies-a-swayin' - whatever you're feeling at the time, or whatever type of person you are... I don't really get bothered with people who say they hate my music, and I expect that they not get bothered when I say I don't like theirs, as it's all subjective anyway...

That being said, it's very easy to draw similarities between most artists nowadays, and it's gotten to the point where it's near on impossible to be unique AND well received... Usually the points at which this happens coincides with the upcoming of a new generation of people (or at least that's what I'm observing at the moment)...
