NO ONE LOCK THIS THREAD UNTIL I GET A RESPONSE FROM MLG_JV

Alright JV, I need some answers.

Remember about a month or so ago when we were talking in PMs about me being the MK boards mod?

Remember how you said you thought I would be a great mod for the MK boards?

Remember when you asked me for contributions and and other things showing how I'd be a great mod, and I did?

I remember this quite clearly. I waited a long time for a reply, and never received one. I messaged you at least 3 times over the past month or so, and you never responded. At the time, I just figured you were busy and had more important things to attend to.

Looks like I was wrong.

When I visit the MK boards this morning, I see that someone else is the new mod for the MK boards.

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=221830

WTF?

JV, I proved to you how I would be a great mod for these boards. I'm very active and have contributed here greatly. And, for some reason, it seems I was just ignored by you and you had no consideration to even respond to my messages.

No offense to the new mod, but who the **** is Aiko? What qualifies him more than me to be able to mod these boards? Has he even posted is these boards before? What has he contributed here?

JV, I'd really like to know your reasons for choosing Aiko as the MK boards mod over me.

Honestly, I'm really ****ing confused.

In conclusion, I just don't understand. Please explain.

Awaiting your response,

-Affinity

im just going to point out the obvious fact that this isn't exactly "mod-like" behavior. honestly, take this up in a PM, we don't need you to publicly call out JV here. JV does more for this community than anyone, and if you think that making this post will help your case for becoming a mod, i believe that you are mistaken.

seriously though, this post is fail. we love u JV

^all he's looking for is an answer (which seems more than reasonable), not trying to justify his position as best potential mod.

DON'T LEAVE HIM HANGIN JV

Rofa, this isn't Mod like behavior. But honestly, it's obvious that doesn't matter at this point, as clearly he isn't being given the position of moderator anyway. If he wants answers, his PM's are being ignored, and he has a legitimate reason for asking these questions, I believe he has the right to be answered by someone.

I'm not the one to make the decisions, but I see nothing wrong with Affinity being appointed Moderator of the Meta Knight boards. He's here often enough, he contributes, he's polite, he helps out, he's created guides and generated discussion, he's a decent player, he mains the character... And I've never heard of this new Moderator ever. I think he has at least a little justification, even if these measures are a little selfish.

I am going to have to back up Affinity here as well.

What Ulevo said, Affinity would be an excellent mod here for the MK forum. He does everything you could ask in a person and I have not heard of Aiko at all until he just got the red tag.

Okay okay, the last thing I want is to create a flame war here. I have nothing against Affinity. I know he is a great contributor to these boards and whatnot. My point was that this thread isn't the best way to ask the question.

Now it's turning into a public debate. Affinity is vilifying JV, and forcing him to publicly apologize for not choosing him as a mod. I mean, comon man. So what? Your big dream of becoming a mod is broken. . . big deal?

Anyhow, I never meant to get involved here, so you guys go on and do your thing. JV = the **** was the point of my earlier post. As members of this community, we owe almost everything to JV's countless hours of hard work (especially as members of the Midwest).

Affinity, you can still help people out and be an "unofficial mod." The ability to lock posts / create polls isn't THAT cool.

I'm out.

Please read the entire OP before responding. I made it clear that I PM'd him several times over a long period of time and received no responses.

Its not like me to ever make threads like this, but it's a last resort.

Wait.

Where in the OP did I ask for an apology? I just want answers, that's all.

I'm not flaming. I have no intention to. The whole point I'm making is that Affinity is limited in what he can do to get answers. I mean, if JV isn't responding to his emails or PMs, then I don't see how Affinity can really talk to him unless he gets his attention. He's just looking for answers, he's not looking for a position, or for JV to say sorry. Just a justification as to why JV made the decision and never contacted him.

That's all. I have no intention of arguing.

Personally, I am against the MK forums having more mods since it'll get in the way of my trolling.

That said, I believe Affinity is a good candidate for a mod.

In summation: The Internet is Serious Business.

hey guys. I was appointed to Mod MK boards because I volunteered to mod it.

Yes I am unknown to most US players because I am one of the top players in UK, not America. I'm actully ranked no.1 in UK at the moment and have won and placed highly in tournaments.

However modding is not character specific. I'm a mod because I know the rules and stuff in between.

As to why affinity isnt a mod, I have no idea about him volunteering and stuff, that was beyond my scope. I'm quite happy to reference you to JV but the point of this thread is debatable.

Affinity: I'm happy to continue this in PM's, infact I actually believe that was the first thing you should've done.

Ok, so heres the deal. I did respond to your pms on multiple occassions. I took the time to ask for posts and read them.

Then in a larger process I started to revamp the staff and staffing procedures as well I start to redo some staffing resources for mods. Putting you on as a mod had to wait for this, very simple. I didnt forget about you, in fact I a have a colorful nice excel file with the names and room for some potential mods to hand over to Azua (the new director of staffing) and your name was on it. So yeah I get 100s of pms, and given that I was trying accomplish other things before I adding additional mods, i didnt respond until I finished them. That should be understandable. Aiko was not picked over you, he was on for Europe already and offered to help with the boards so Azua had him added on. But instead of waiting patiently and acting like a mod you had to throw a little temper tantrum.

P.S. Rofa is the man!
