I think the floating would be reserved for a recovery move, while she just walks/runs as if she's not bothered by her heavy armor. She's a goddess, after all. Perhaps strength comes with the territory?

I know I already noted the possibility in another thread, but I'd like to explore it further. Palutena supporters, what would be your reactions to Palutena and Medusa being semi-clones? Not that I find that particularly justifiable or probable. It's just "clones do happen" type of stuff.

The clone stuff doesn't bother me. What would bother me is Medusa being in this game over any other character. I don't think she belongs, particularly with Sakurai making the decision in Uprising to decrease her importance in the KI series.

I would rather have both and have them be semi-clones than only having one. As a strictly non-competitive player clones don't really bother me very much, though of course I would prefer unique movesets. But if it's a chance to have Medusa & Ganondorf vs. Pit and Toon Link without sacrificing Palutena I'm all over it.

I strongly prefer only Palutena even if she was just a semi-clone, but I highly doubt that she'd be one if she gets in. I just don't think Medusa should be in... Granted, that would be a major push for KI, but I don't think they should go that far. For Palutena's case, at least she's been in all 3 KI games that of which even Medusa wasn't, not to mention she wasn't even the main villain in Uprising.
But before I get off topic, Palutena only for me, don't care if she is semi-clone, though she most likely won't be one, considering that if she did make it, Palutena would be the only character wielding a staff, theoretically speaking. Medusa just doesn't deserve a spot on the roster yet imo. However, she could finally become a collectible trophy that of which she wasn't in Brawl back then if anything.

I assume you mean the series that have no fighters yet, right? Otherwise your statement could be reversed and make just as much sense.

What I mean is, if Sakurai wants to add semi-clones, there are other series that can use more characters before Kid Icarus. I just don't think KI will make the jump to three characters, even with the possibility of semi-clones.

I wouldn't be annoyed if Medusa made it as a semi clone of Palutena but both of them being semi clones of somebody else would be very questionable and I'd rather he not do that. I'm not against Medusa but the priority for me is Palutena.

Let her walk. She may be a god, but that doesn't make her too good to walk like normal people.

The way I see Palutena working out is that she'd be a slow character, in terms of movement. However, she would make up her slow speed with her long range efficiency.

I agree, but Sakurai isn't the creator of KI, unlike Kirby. The only thing he did for KI is breathed life on it. So I oubt his modesty would get in the way.

The only thing that gets in her way is whether or not KI even deserves another rep.

I agree. Like I said, it all depends on whether or not Sakurai wants a new KI character, which would make sense. Despite having a quite subtle fanbase, she has everything going for her, which most characters cannot say the same thing.

To be honest, if MOTHER can warrant 3 reps, so can Kid Icarus.
More so KI actually, because it got a huge revival that made the series very important and, according to the Smash 4 trailer, is now one of Nintendo's big 8 franchises.
Mario, DK, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Star Fox, Pokemon, and none other than Kid Icarus appeared in the beginning of the trailer, showing me just how important KI has become.

Hm, so it is one of the 8 big franchises after all. I just hope KI will get more love than just a highly modified Pit and some KI stages (that of which we only seen 1 of)... and a few items, hence the X-bomb. If they have shown Pit in that trailer with those Uprising weapons, I do expect KI to get a 2nd rep, aka, Palutena.
Theoretically speaking to say she was in, I don't think Palutena will be shown for a bit until character voices are done. iirc, each newcomer will get their own little entrance vid as you've seen WFT, Megaman, and Villager have. However, to make Palutena's vid tons effective, she, accompanied by Pit, need to bring some of that hilarious dialogue like they do in Uprising (and messing with Pit) to us. But it could happen December due to 12/19/86 being the KI anniversary, right? If I was to assume when this was to happen, I'd probably say during a December Nintendo Direct. Sure Sakurai could do it on 12/19 this year as it's a Thursday, but he does like to be unpredictable, so... Anytime this December is where I'm putting my hopes up. It'd be a great Holiday gift too if he did reveal the Goddess of Light during that time.

It's just getting exposure due being already under hands of Sakurai before, but no, it's not instantly a big franchise. Especially if it looks like none in Nintendo EAD or even any of Nintendo's subsidiaries has shown much interest on keeping the series going since 1992.

I don't mean to look down on you or anything but so far there's nothing that can get our hopes up about KI actually getting back to Nintendo's interest as one of their go-franchises along with the current ones.
In fact I just still consider the series getting merely lucky as hell (not that it didn't deserve it), but like I said, I hope this won't be all like KI going back to obscurity in truth despite getting exposure. Only time and interest from the other subsidiaries will tell if this series will be kept afloat.
Because really, keep that boulder rolling if you so think it's profitable and would make a great franchise with it's newly-grown fanbase!! Don't just fake us here and truly tell you just don't care about KI aside from Sakurai or Smash Bros, right?

I worry myself that I probably was blinded. It's still a small franchise but am glad it was revived. I just hope it doesn't die quickly after Smash, for there wasn't much love after OM&M, and the revival began when Pit was in Brawl with the exception of that "hint" in Pit's melee trophy. If it does still pick up after SSB4, then I hope it'll continue to do great.

I completely agree with your post, I think people are way too quick to claim that KI is an important A-list series for Nintendo just because Sakurai revived it (but it does sure in hell deserve to be one, and should have been one in the first place). I do however worry that no one else at Nintendo besides him has interest for the franchise, because after all, it took THIS long for a third KI game to happen, and it was all by chance too. I would loved to be proved wrong.

I don't want to be a downer or anything, but I honestly don't find Palutena or any second KI newcomer as likely as everyone else believes. But what do I know, this is Sakurai we are talking about here.

I hate to think like that, but you're totally right. I think she has a good chance, but she is by no means a shoo-in. I can only hope. I mean, I really want her in the game, but I wouldn't be too upset if she doesn't make it.
