Considering that Pit's special attacks are being revamped to compliment Kid Icarus: Uprising, I doubt Palutena's Army will stay. Though to be blunt, that Final Smash is pretty ineffective to begin with, so any alternative would be welcomed regardless.

Palutena is a Kid Icarus franchise character, so Toad's fate has very little to do with her.

I'd be fine with whichever Sacred Treasures he chooses. If Pit gets a new Final Smash, then it's likely it will be the Sacred Treasures.

Anyway to stay a little more on topic.

Palutena's main issue from the prospective of moveset is the general direction. It's not exactly a one note thing, there are several possible outcomes to consider. Like from my prospective, my idea of Palutena is to be a defensive character that emphasizes her divine powers to space away the opponent and wear them down. However, a more offensive alternative to this can also be proposed.

Probably a mixture of that and Wario with some changes. Pit moves around slightly faster (not that major Wario Man buff) with slightly faster moves, arrows are surely faster. Using Up-B allows Pit to fly faster than usual and for as long as the 3ST is in effect, while pressing B is an arrow, A is a slashing attack. Holding B allows Pit to shoot the arrow while stationary, and holding it for a bit while pointing it upwards allows you to do the raining Arrow special. Down-B replaces Guardian Orbs with the ever-famous Mirror Shield, but Pit holds it better in a way where he can angle it better when needed.

That's at the top of my head.
And yes, Palutena to be defensive.

Yeah, I suspect it will be Palutena or no one, she's clearly the secondary character in the series. Dark Pit would likely only be added over her if Sakurai was as desperate for feasible clones as he was for Melee, which is pretty unlikely, I'm fairly confident the roster won't need that level of padding this time.

I'd say, at the most, the competition Palutena has is either Magnus or Dark Pit. Magnus because he's already built for combat, and Dark Pit, because... he's Dark Pit. I don't think any god(dess) beyond Palutena really has a chance, though.

I definitely think that Kid Icarus will get a second character. Pit being revealed along with the usual veterans from day 1 clearly established KI as one of Smash 4's main game series. Medusa's got a shot, but really, they usually go with the universe's second most important good guy before the main villain, so all the odds are in Palutena's favor.

Not sure how Palutena would exactly be presented in a sense. You know, first impressions and all that. She's not the type of character that immediately screams a fighter due to being a divine goddess, which are stereotypical about being peace bringers and stuff. Which is what I guess Palutena kind of defies, she's not a stereotypical goddess, she's nice but also has her mischievous and clumsy moments similar to a normal human.

I actually think the 19th or in that direct which I would like to know the date will only be revealed something KI related like Skyworld or an item, but I really would like to see her as soon as possible, just to get rid of the pressure of her not appearing.

Just letting the supporters know that as we're pretty much about 6 days away from the Kid Icarus anniversary, whether or not our Goddess of Light is revealed, at the very least, somewhere, I'd love to see something Kid Icarus related show up. Should nothing appear, I'd be sad. The latest I'd probably wait is March 22nd next year for the KIU 2nd anniversary. But atm, let's hope something Kid Icarus happens this month due to that anniversary.

Don't think I ever posted here yet. Just wanted to say that I do support the idea of playing as Palutena. Though overall, a second Kid Icarus character might not be super likely. I think she'd be a good choice for a spacing and or zoning character. Mostly using light magic to get the job done. She could rack up a lot of damage too. But her weakness would be a having a lack of knockback to her attacks.

So she'd be real good for teaming up with characters like Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Ganondorf. Being able to prep her opponents to get killed by who ever her teammates are.

True. I'm still not sure we'll get another KI rep in this game, I do agree Palutena is the best choice of the bunch. I'm not even sure if we would need to worry about Sakurai's modesty that people mentioned with Kirby characters. After all, he didn't create the Kid Icarus series. But at least Pit and Palutena weren't made by Sakurai.

So yeah, the two of them more or less complete Kid Icarus as a series. No one else is on there level yet. Unless we get a bunch of sequels, where the newer characters get consistent roles.(Magnus would be cool)

Agreed. As of now, I'm 100% sure that Palutena will be in the game, but I'm not sure if she'll be playable or not just yet, though she has fair chances. Besides, she was just part of Pit's FS in Brawl, and with Pit given influences from Uprising as shown via his new moves, not to mention we have a KI stage (for the 3ds so far) and the X-bomb as an item, it's quite possible that she'll indeed have a greater role this time. At the very least I want her to either be playable like I said before, and/or be part of potential secret codecs she could have with Pit, which are perhaps the most likely roles for her imo.
I know Japan has Palutena as popular, so who knows? But til then, let's hope this month delivers, and more importantly, the Kid Icarus anniversary this Thursday be a great one, and at least show us some new KI goodness.

It looks like we're getting a Nintendo Direct on Wednesday at 6am pacific time and 9am eastern time. It's actually a day earlier than the Kid Icarus anniversary, but hey, that's pretty dang close for a potential Palutena reveal. You think it's still possible? If anything, she should be shown one way or form. If not, I can only hope that something Kid Icarus related appears on during that direct at the very least. So for those who got the time, set up your alarm clocks and all, and hope that we get what we're hoping for. If Palutena is shown playable, I promise to be cheerful, and celebrate and party while providing Drinks of the Gods... and hot springs.

If we get a newcomer tomorrow, Palutena seems like the most logical based on the information we have, but we cannot forget Sakurai works in mysterious ways… or as most people simply refer to him as a troll

The main reason why I'm so into this is because well... Sakurai is the brains behind Kid Icarus Uprising, Kid Icarus anniversary is the day after this upcoming Nintendo Direct, Palutena is popular in Japan (well, Pit is too), you do the math. Sakurai would be crazy not to mention something Kid Icarus related this Nintendo Direct, but we know Palutena's chances are pretty good here. I pray to the light that this direct won't be a disappointment like the last one.
