If Palutena doesn't a least have an expanded role in the game I will be a sad Panda... or human... or washing machine. I'm not sure of anything anymore.

If Palutena and Medusa made it, I can imagine an event match where you play as Palutena and take on Medusa in a classic 1v1, where the title is "Goddess Showdown", and the description is along the lines of "With Pit currently nowhere to be found, it's up to Palutena to defeat Medusa by herself."

I've been replaying Uprising from the start lately and I've decided that I don't really like Palutena. I don't care for the way she treats Pit. I find it particularly jarring in the first couple of chapters with Viridi (who is right about literally everything she says) where Pit is just regurgitating Palutena's illogical statements.

But I'll continue to support her as I do all Kid Icarus content. I don't have to like her for her to be a worthwhile addition.

Its been nearly a week since there has last been a post in this topic. There is only 3.5 days left until we get the first round of newcomers for Smash 4, of which Palutena is a really good candidate to be one of them, yet in her own support topic, there has been a relative silence.

I honestly don't mind more talk. I just feel sad when it gets quiet sometimes.
But on the other hand, we're getting closer to the trailer, and likely a great chance. If she is shown, then I hope we can have a heavenly party in some hot springs... That, and it will only expand my support of the Pit+Palutena pairing. <3

I don't feel like her chances of being in the trailer are very high... as far as building hype goes, Palutena isn't as recognizable as a lot of their other options. So, in any case, I wouldn't lose hope for her inclusion if she's not shown right off the bat.

Well, the thing is that even if she isn't revealed right away, there's always a chance that she could be a secret character. Only time we'd have to be said is when the game comes out and see that she isn't part of the roster. However, I do hope she'll have a greater role than what brawl made her out to be.

Pretty much, and that's also why I don't support those characters. Palutena's actually reasonable and has great potential, but that's just me.

Just had this thought recently, if Dark Pit was to be revealed instead of Palutena, that possibly could mean there would codecs between them instead of Palutena being a character. It would probably be shocking though.

Palutena over Dark Pit, it has to be. I mean I just am not fond of clones, which is also why I don't support "Dark" characters. Even if DP was chosen, he'd just have the Silver Bow which was his main weapon of choice in the game, different tone of voice, and I wouldn't see many different moves if they had worked on it, besides the kick.
But Lady Palutena would most definitely bring us something new, besides a true playable main non-blonde female character (melee Zelda counts as blonde). Like I said, it would be fun to play as that hot Goddess with humor that even I can enjoy. <3 And we just have less than 3 days to wait for the trailer, too.

He's one of the top tiers in their Brawl tier list, they even had KI:U choco snack promos exclusive to Japan I think, so the next step would be improving the returning Pit, and making Palutena playable as well for Smash4. It's possible, right?

Yep, beat KI:U too. You'd love the humor. Well in the game, Palutena (and most other characters, even the villains, but the majority of em are females) seems to tease Pit often, from seemingly reading Pit's mind through laurel "naughty" thoughts (says perverted in the JP version) in Chapter 2, to mentioning different delicious foods (including octopus and Phoenix eggs), mentioning how easily embarrassed Pit is, and even teased him when she put monster pheromone on him to lure a Hewdraw head so Pit can defeat it easier, in which Pit freaks out saying something along the lines of "WHAT!? Are you trying to kill me!?"

I wish, but that'd mean we'd be thinking about more... naughty things. Proportional is okay by me. I just hope Palutena is playable. I'm more fond of Palutena's "heavenly" bust, and she can hug me there any time she wants, but that's just me. <3


I think it was. Pit definitely is returning for Smash4. Sakurai did create KI:U iirc (he does seem to like Viridi a lot in the game) which helped revive the KI series, and we know he is the creator of Smash Bros. So I'm sure Pit is staying, and Palutena is very likely. And them choco snacks seemed like a promo product for KI:U in Japan, which even came with 1 of 20 randomly selected AR card per purchase. Add all that with the 3 anime shorts that were also promotions for KI:U, and I'm sure Pit will be joined by Palutena in the roster this time around. She did play such a huge role after all, not to mention Pit's Final Smash (provided that they're in the game) is likely to change, too, making it all the more likely for the Goddess of Light to come on in.

I can see how you come to that conclusion, but I personally imagine her to be a bit heavier/slower because she has a lot more things to carry.

I'm betting that her specials will still be unique. It make no sense for Palutena to use Din's Fire, Nayru's Love or Farore's Wind.

Other attacks might be copied, but they will likely be heavily altered.

It's probably because Peach and Zelda do have some similar-looking moves with different properties. N-air, spotdodge and air dodge, and Dash attack are perfect examples, along with a few others. But remember Palutena does have that big staff scepter thing in her right hand, and a shield on her left, both can be used as weapons, and said before, she's more likely to be a heavier character as well.

Yeah, look at the impression Pit made, and he wasn't exactly iconic at the time to say the least. Wario was arguably the most iconic character in the Brawl trailer. (I think Snake doesn't count in this case)

I'd also argue that K. Rool is technically more iconic than she is, but I'm one of those that really wouldn't expect him in the trailer. I still think Palutena's got one of the best shots for the trailer, regardless, even for reasons I don't fully understand. Except for, y'know, that whole "Attractive character with an appealing personality and design" thing. That's trailer material right there.

She'll use the staff if anything. I mean it's a big weapon that she's holding like almost always. She held it during Pit's Final Smash, during the "offering hearts to the Goddess" thing, and even used the weapon during the boss battle. Now that I think about it, I believe she used the shield of hers to summon that slow projectile that shoots projectiles. She definitely has to use that staff. D:

They could do whatever they want with Palutena, because she's a GODDESS. They don't even have to follow what she did in Uprising because we only ever get a glimpse of her power. With literally unlimited scope for move sets, there's no justification or excuse for them to land on clone.

Dunno, I don't see Palutena's chances being that great as portrayed. I still do see a chance, but I find it quite more possible to have Magnus, who we at least can se a few kicks and slashes here and there on the game to justify a moveset, then again, Zelda makes my argument invalid.

But Palutena fights during Uprising, and can clearly do anything given she has the power of a goddess. Why people want Magnus so much is really beyond me, I mean, maybe I could be convinced (I really doubt it) but considering his minor role in the game versus Palutena's HUGE role, as well as more developed and I think generally agreed upon given her popularity, much more interesting personality, she's just...a better option overall for all parties.

Look, I think you're getting the wrong impressions about me. My point is that there are many reasons for Palutena's inclusion, and by the way, Wolf was a more popular character overall than Krystal, particularly in Japan. Her fanbase was more vocal, yes, but not more prominent. I didn't support Krystal back then anyway, I supported Wolf, but that's not the point.

The point is Palutena has all of that originality, but also has all of the popularity, as well as Sakurai's hand in her creation. It also helps that Sakurai didn't even know who Krystal was when he did his poll after Brawl's announcement and people asked for her. And by that point, he had already decided on the roster. I'm pretty sure Palutena, who's essentially in her new form one of his own creations, doesn't have that problem. Word.

That's kinda true, knowing Sakurai, he might even add at least 2 more reps for Kid Icarus just cause he "adopted" the franchise. We'll just have to see what happens this Tuesday, if there's a day to announce her, I would say it is quite possible she will first appear in this trailer
