EDIT: I haven't actually watched that trailer before... at the end, when Palutena comments that Dark Pit's returned.. his answer in Japanese is "maa, maa." Which, although the subs interpret it one way, I would interpret it as a "more or less", as in him being an alt color for Pit ??

I'd think it would look poor for them to let Link's do that, but for Palutena's shield just to be transparent. Graphically it'd be an eye sore.

I actually just realized that Palutena was the character I was most hyped about from a reveal trailer.

Here's all the newcomers before Palutena and how I felt about their trailers at initial watch for comparison.

Spoiler

Villager - I was surprised and excited seeing them reveal a Animal crossing rep. However, they didn't do too much with it so I couldn't get as much hype.

Megaman - Kinda had him spoilered. I was rushing to the Nintendo E3 direct, and I saw him in a thumbnail, implying Nintendo announced something Megaman. We get to Smash and there he was. I also don't persoally care too much about Megaman.

Wii fit trainer - I love her now, but before I saw her trailer, lurking the forums convinced me to hate her first.

Rosalina & Luma - Second to Palutena. So first the trailer hyped me up with Kirby air ride music, then it surprises me with Rosalina. I was just staring at my screen going "what." Even when they went to Mario Kart 8 I was still like, "what."

Little Mac - He was interesting, but I didn't care for Punch out.

Greninja - I was surprised and excited. But not by too terribly much.

Mii fighters - Figured it out rather early considering how iwata and reggie were fighting was just too weird looking. I was also too worried about how the fanbase was reacting.

Now that we got the context out of the way. Now for how I reacted to Palutena.

So with Mii fighters out first and with the expectation of a Pac-man reveal, it was obviously surprising when I saw green hair on the screen. My mouth dropped and I was freaking out. Cue epic music and epic anime fight scene and it was all so beautiful. The move reveals were also top notch. I actually liked the voice acting. Also, Viridi. <3

I was jumping up and down after that trailer. No other newcomer did that to me at that point. Really, I just so excited for Palutena. The one thing that will be complete for me, is if she has a color/alt costume that makes her look like Viridi. That would just be perfect. <3

So real talk, I didn't absorb anything from the trailer initially cause I was too busy hyping~
And heck, looking back, my hype was kinda mellowed out after the direct since while Mii Fighter was cool it wasn't anything that I'd say I was holding out for.

Though... that release date delay hurts more after the Palutena hype = =

I'm disappointed by all of those. I may have my liking for Palutena and support her most definitely, but let's just say I'm not as crazy or weird as some people are. But enough of that.
As of now I'm just patiently waiting to gather more data on her style, moves, weight (like will she be middleweight unlike Rosalina?), you get the idea. As I wait, I'm also going through some Pit and Bowser data to pass the time.

I agree with you, nothing wrong with thinking a character is attractive, but somepeople are plain sick, for me it's pretty disgusting, people these days simply don't know how to stay classy.

I think they did a great job on fitting the song in to correspond with the actions happening in the trailer. They also had to do this in Mega Man's, Rosalina's, and Little Mac's trailer iirc.
