Sakurai's like a girl with instagram. He takes a handful of cleverly composed ambiguous narrative pics and now he fancies himself an art photographer. Don't get me wrong, these are fun and I enjoy everyone of 'em, but I wake up every morning hoping to get blown off my feet with a heavy reveal. All I got today was Mushroom Kingdom love. Oh well, here's to Wednesday!

Nothing interesting in this picture but... Dat detail! Peach's gloves look like they are actually made of silk but Mario's look like... felt... possibly even wool? They look like the gloves of my plush Mario and I imagine that they'd be super uncomfortable to wear.

I'm sorry, but I can't get over how polished and amazing Samus looks. I mean, I know she didn't get a complete design overhaul like Bowser, Link, or (in a coloring sort of way) Peach, but she looks great.

I know Brawl Link was based on TP, YL on OoT and MM, and TL on WW (so many acronyms), but which game is the Smash 4 link based on?

TP, only difference is that the colors are more saturated, every little design thing is still left over from TP though. It's most likely so Ganon can keep up with the rest of the cast, since he missed out on SS.

I actually have to revise my statement. I've been wrong, terribly wrong.
"Hope, in its widest acceptation, is described as the desire of something together with the expectation of obtaining it. . . ." - Catholic Encyclopedia.
But, I am still right in my claim that hope does not cause disappointment, sometimes while one may expect something, they convince themselves they are entitled to it by any measure, and when it does not come about their pride is hurt, and rightly so, the simple acceptance of what has happened being against the expectation suffices to dispel disappointment wherever it is involved. In that way, arrogance is the source of disappointment.

Luigi having his classic leg flutter is going to be hilarious whether it has gameplay implications or not. That being said, while Luigi already could jump high and was floaty, if he has increased air control to match the "Luigi feel" from the games in which he has tradtionally had this animation, that would be pretty nice for him.

I must say I'm very pleased to see Luigi getting the flutter jump. I really wanted Luigi to get the move, especially when it was featured in the trailers of New Super Luigi U and Super Mario 3D World.

I agree. It's the little touches that truly make Smash something else. For example, I think I mentioned this on another thread, but the fact that Peach's walking animation was changed from a simple walk into a skip for Brawl delights me to no end.

It was 7:30am when I checked smashboards this morning and at that time the OP was not updated with the pic of the day Sakurai quote I only saw the most recent photo get-up. I then had to proceed to go to college and now I am in class while a lecture is going on replying to your comment.
Point is now that I have read the Sakurai quote and not just seen the pic of the day, your right. Luigi's jump animation has changed to a kind of flutter.

Yoshi hasn't been confirmed for Smash 4

to be a little more specific, in many mario games luigi jumped like that. I remember even back on GBA, the difference between mario and luigi was:
Mario was faster, and has better traction
Luigi could jump higher, and slid around like he was on ice
