I don't think that's what he means, he said one of the stages because he hasn't revealed the stages name or exactly what it's meant to be (besides coming from Kid Icarus). He just means one of the stages selectable.

I'm gonna stand by the same I said on Ridley's Pyrosphere, if anything, this is an indication both are in the game, I think both of these would be great stages to showcase them the first time they show up.

Cheering over the disconfirmation of a character is just plain douchebaggery in my opinion. There's characters that I don't like, and even then I won't laugh at their fans if they don't get in.

The problem with that is he wasn't, the statement was just as vague as the one here (especially the Japanese one which just said "trauma"). Really, the situations are similar, said character is mentioned offhand in accordance to a stage they're heavily connected to and yet have severely different treatments in how they're responded to.

People weren't freaking out over Ridley until the caption. The stage initially caused people to declare his chances got boosted, there just wasn't much time between only having the picture and then getting the caption.

So...what could happen is Diddy is revealed in Feb and then sometime around late Feb, we get a Direct with Palutena and hopefully a release date. And then shortly after we get Yoshi in March. Kinda like middle-late Dec we got Rosalina and shortly after Zelda?

I think it's what you grab on to when using the shield for defense by wrapping it around your hand. Link's equivalent has a metal handle.

An appearance as a statue is very different from "an enemy that caused Samus trauma appearing at any moment" is. The statement is more ambiguous and open to people's worst fears and expectations, so people reacted according to those expectations.

Also, Ridley wasn't "leaked" before the pyrosphere stage.

Taking a close look at it, I've found that the statue appears to be lacking several pieces of jewelry hanging from Palutena's belts, among other things. It's not a perfect match.

Been looking at the chapter where Pit and Palutena clash -- Chapter 20 in case anyone was interested --and a lot of the architecture matches up with the portrayal of Skyworld in that stage. Right off the bat, the statue in both games have wings. The structure of the base of the statue is definitely from Palutena's Temple. You can even see the outline of the ring surrounding the statue in the bottom, right-hand corner of the Smash shot.

My only hangup is the pillar protruding from the ground on the left. There doesn't appear to be any pillars like that in the architecture around Palutena's Temple. Maybe it is a cosmetic leniency by Sakurai.

At this point I'm once again reevaluating Sakurai's words about the Pyrosphere, and him explaining how the back ground hole is really big. Pics of the day like this one really have me lean towards the playable Ridley camp. It's not like Sakurai is oblivious to the controversies that surround his games. Ganondorf's sword taunt in Brawl comes to mind with Sakurai saying something to the effect of "he taunts using one of the Sage's swords, many fans make fun of him for not using it."

This could all lead to nothing but, as I said, the coincidences are just piling up. The day after the leak Sakurai shows off the Kid Icarus 3DS stage for the first time in three months with the last two girl characters confirmed on the site being the main focus and now he shows off a new Kid Icarus stage for the Wii U a week after the leak and the picture specifically focuses on Palutena. Of all the stages and of all the details he could have shown off, he just decided to show those by chance? It's possible but it's so uncanny that he has to at least be aware of what happened last week.
