There is a difference between that and solving the first dungeon of Skyward Sword.

What he said would have been a legitimate complaint for Kid Icarus, but certainly not LoZ.
Oh actually I was just showing how the past Nintendo would try to make a little money off "players not knowing what to do" :p

Shouldn't certain parts of the characters be shown as well? like DK's tie and Diddy's hat in the original. Characters with weapons will have them pop out, so they're more visible, and characters without weapons will have misc highlighted clothing, or otherwise, like mario's hat, snake's headband, or Pikachu's cheeks.
That has already been said.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I think he was just joking...Maybe.

Not certain at all considering who we're talking about. >.>'
What's that supposed to mean...?

:I So it's not allowed to not like Zelda? Sorry, I do like most of the Nintendo franchises, I just think Zelda's puzzles sometimes get too ridiculous and the amount of poking around you have to do IS PAINFUL. Maybe I should play Ocarina Of Time 3D once more to try and look for the 'charm'. I mean, there's not that satisfying feeling like in Metroid, where you feel like you're actually being rewarded for exploring with a cool new powerup.

Also, I don't have an aversion to thinking, I LOVE the Professor Layton games and Ace Attorney...I just think that if you're going to be cracking your head open, it should be the main focus of the game...also, WHY IS IT CONSIDERED A CRIME TO LOVE THE DS ZELDA GAMES? People have the right to have their own opinions, and I think the DS Zelda's were the most memorable, at least for me.

Yeah, that reply was tasteless and some Zeldas are definitely fun experiences, but I think they take the poking-around part of the game a little too far, I want landmarks, guidelines and waypoints...it's like playing The Elder Scrolls without waypoint arrows. (Read: Tedious)

Let me just say I love how you use italics to it's FULLEST EXTENT in a way that actualLy RefleCTS speech (And is also used for Titles of Works in Place of Quotation Marks), rather than using bold and CAPS, WHICH GIVE THE IMPRESSION OF YELLING AT PEOPLE OVER THE INTERNET.

People who do that are almost as annoying as people who use random fonts like a serial killer, Epilepsy inducing colors and excessive font size.

I know I'm a little late to this but... With Zelda confirmed, what are the chances of Sheik being in to Sheik NOT being in? I mean, it's still a possibility that they could change Zelda's down B..

When they were announcing characters for Brawl. Sheik came later after Zelda was shown. Probably the same case here.

I just realized something. There should be an NES Remix stage for Wii U. That would be amazing, and a suitable substitute for GW's endlessly annoying stages, which are sure to be on the 3DS.

How about no? It doesn't give the impression that I'm yelling at people over the Internet, I AM (lol) yelling at people over the Internet. And I just wish Zelda has the Phantom attack as her new down-B, Sheik was good back when Ocarina Of Time was still relevant to the Zelda universe. Also, I don't want Impa to be a newcomer just because Zelda isn't Sheik anymore, I think that'd be a wasted character slot that could be occupied by Dillon, Ridley or Palutena, characters that are actually interesting.

Seriously? OoT is still the most important title in the Zelda series (heck Nintendo even made a 3-way timeline split with that game.)

Not to mention it got a full remake, and is generally considered one of the best / most important games of all time.

OoT will never be irrelevant in the Nintendo-verse

My apologies for misunderstanding, I overestimated your civility then.
Websites like Youtube, which used to not have BIU capabilities have sort of trained people to use CAPS for emphasis, even when merely speaking emphatically.
The thought did not occur to me that you in fact were aware of the proper usage, but still chose to YELL FOR EMPHASIS.

Edit: So, in the post that this comment is responding to, you yell "AM" or possibly "I AM," and then laugh with an inflection that gives the impression of making a talking point? Am I reading that correctly?
Also, I agree that Impa would be a waste (but a kick-*** AT). And OoT can never be irrelevant. It was and is one of the most revolutionary games in the industry, and is the prequel to MM, the other best game ever.

I dont understand why people think OoT is so "great." It's eons behind Wind Waker in story and gameplay.

And dont pull the "WW is too kiddy."

Aye, sir, in a world where solid and consistent mechanics are sacred, the DS games seem to have less "Zelda Logic" whereby one must poke around endlessly with vague ideas. Metroid's model is incredibly consistent in this regard, the 2D ones especially.

Why do you choose to attack his deliverance rather than the points being made? Because they're dumb? I don't want to assume what you think, but you seem to be implying that you disagree with his claims about the other Zelda games. Is this correct?

Eh, it makes sense, a lot of people like it for nostalgia. I mean, WW and TP are my favorites for the story, but it's all personal preference.

I don't know why, but I'm feeling a character reveal this week.

Because it's darker. People love a good grim atmosphere, and OOT did that well (well, until Majora's Mask)...

From what I've heard. Many people loved the open atmosphere of that game and that they could practically do a lot of things as they pleased. Also the whole Z-Targeting thing and the first 3D Zelda game which was a pretty big deal back then. Of course, people also enjoyed the whole time travel concept as well as the horse riding mechanics among a number of other things too.

But hey, Wind Waker is my personal favourite Zelda game too. I'll be playing Wind Waker HD as soon as I get my hands on a Wii U (unless I get it when Mario Kart 8 or Smash Bros Wii U comes out, then it might have to wait.)

First off, I love wind waker, so I kind of agree with you. But you really can't ignore that OoT made it possible.

At the time, it revolutionized the 3d adventure game. WW was better mechanically, yes, but it didn't break ground the same way.

OoT was literally a dream come true for gamers at the time, and changed the gaming landscape for the better. And while it's a bit dated now, it's still an amazing game to play now.

It just bothers me when anybody suggests that it's not relevant.. It'll go down as one of the most important of all time, along with games like FF6, Mario 64, super Metroid / prime, etc etc etc

The anniversary of Ice Climber is coming up for Japan, so it'll be interesting to see if it'll hold any water for the Ice Climbers' return.

Sheik shouldn't be in the game because OoT isn't relevant anymore... Seriously? OoT was a revolutionary game for its time, without a doubt.

Also, by that relevancy logic, those characters shouldn't be in the game either:
- Ice Climbers
- Mr. Game & Watch
- Captain Falcon (Seriously, the last F-Zero game was released a decade ago.)
- Jigglypuff
- R.O.B.

Wind Waker isn't "too kiddy," but OoT is significantly more mature and dark, which I like.

Well, yeah. Zelda is a good series, and he seems to dislike it because the puzzles are "impossible to solve without a guide," which is simply untrue. There are plenty of games with a dark history of, let's call it, "hyper-monetization," such as the above mentioned Metroid and Kid Icarus. Zelda is not one such game. I agree with the person who made the "aversion to thinking" comment.

And I attacked his deliverance partly because EXCESSIVE CAPS GETS REALLY ANNOYING, AND THAT ANNOYANCE IS MULTIPLIED ONE THOUSAND FOLD WHEN YOU CONSIDER THIS SIGHT HAS SUCH TOOLS AS italics, bold and underlining that make for suitable emphasis, even though bold shouldn't be used, as the other two are much more appropriate.

...But also partly because, IDK, I felt like it.

Why do people even use this relevancy thing on Ocarina of Time anyway? Especially when we got the Gerudo Valley stage and Saria's trophy for the 3DS version? Looks like it's pretty relevant for Smash again thanks to the remake.

Wouldn't sheik be more relevant now with the 3DS version of Ocarina of time being out just a couple years ago (and being one of the games that turned the tide on the poor 3DS sales that were going on at the time). I just hope that Sheik and zelda are two different characters on the character select menu and they have their own down B. honestly, I don't know anyone who uses both zelda and sheik, it's always one or another throughout a match, so having them be able to change back and forth is pretty pointless.

From my non-competitive experience, having both is useful. It makes it easier to adjust to certain strategies when you can play as a totally different character midway through a match. It also helps make both of them unique. Without Sheik, Zelda will just be a magic Princess, along with Rose, who will almost certainly be better.

Edit: Is it me, or does the fur in thtat screenshot of IC look better than D3's in Smash 4?

So, people. Next character announced? Who do you all think it will be?

My guess continues to go with Ice Climbers, Falcon, or Ness. If there is a Direct, Snake or Mewtwo.

I can agree with this. I don't see much reason to keep them tied together anymore, since Zelda only transformed into Sheik a few times in a single game. It's almost like having a slot for Wolf Link or Deku Mask Link.
A personal bias of mine: I think Sheik should be replaced with Impa (the one from Skyward Sword) and given her own spot.

Mario only had FLUDD in one game, yet here he is using it again.

The has only used the move in one game is a poor excuse to alter a moveset.

Newcomer IMPA!!! Oh wait, she's not really a new character, just a reskinned Sheik done for the sake of the players' imaginary relevancy clause. See how stupid this sounds?

The last thing I want in Smash is a replacement scrappy. If Impa is to make it in Smash, it's because she has her own merit, not to be the garbage can where Sheik's moveset was dumped in.

Yikes, looks like I touched a nerve. I guess I'll just skulk in this dark corner then, since an ignorant peasant such as myself is clearly unworthy of conversing with such sophisticated intellectuals.

I see you're new here, so welcome to the forums.

It's just that this Sheik and Impa stuff is a subject that really pisses me off, because it has been beaten to death so many times for over a year already. The fact that there was a certain user here who used to bring up this subject at all the time doesn't help at all.

The likeliest possibility is Diddy Kong to tie in with the release of the latest Donkey Kong game.

If there's a Direct, expect possibly a newcomer or an hype worthy character related to one of the announced games.

I'd say Diddy but I can't help but feel we're getting someone in between the 4 week wait for tropical freeze (which is on a Friday). We are in the final year before it gets released and unless the game goes into the winter season, I expect them to release characters more often.
