That wasn't a criticism, I was just annoyed my several people saying something that was clearly incorrect, followed by "the more you know."
I still hate that they broke a rule of Smash in the ugliest way possible, but I was more annoyed with the above.
I guess I feel you bro :grin::):ohwell:.

I got bored today and started doodling. I was happy about King Dedede's announcement, so I drew this:
dedede is back.jpg

It's not great, but whatever. My sleep schedule got messed up cuz I was so hype for Dedede.

Captain Falcon was also the original concept behind Smash Bros. Before they made it a game about Nintendo characters it was a platform fighter called the Dragon King, with Captain Falcon being the Dragon King.

I don't usually try to expect stuff, but that would literally be the best time to show him. Not to mention with all if the redesigning, move set changes and visual effects in Smash 4, Falcon is gonna be something fierce.
Where the hell did you hear that? Super Smash Bros was a PINBALL game, featuring Nintendo characters. Then it was turned into a fighting game. That's why in SSB64 Mario's level, as well as many others, had bumpers and DK's stage had a barrel below the stage, ala saving the pinball. I don't know where you heard that. That's not true.

The developers themselves talked about it.
Umm
From what I read, it says that the makers were inspired by pinball games, not that Smash Bros. was originally a giant pinball crossover.

inspired by =/= going to be

And yeah, Dedede expressive faces, good good.

Yeah a guy who has very little to do wtih nintendo says Smash is inspired by pinball. That is great evidence
I don't think you understand the fact that Nintendo is PICKY with content and decided to post that to their official account, to be viewed by millions of people? I'm certain he was filled in on that information, and he's a credible designer for Capcom.

I'm not starting any fights here, but its true. You all can stop acting like harpies now.

You said Smash was originally a pinball game. All you could prove is that it MAY have been inspired by pinball.
You said many levels in SSB64 feature bumpers. Only Peach's Castle does. You said the barrel in Congo Jungle is a reference to pinball without giving a source and the barrel is probably more a throwback to the barrels in DKC not pinball.

Also info given by someone like the guy in the video often has to be taken with a grain of salt. It isn't uncommon for people to give out incorrect information in things like that. Whenever I read Nintendo Direct summaries on official nintendo media often incorrect information is posted.

Okay, hold up there hot cheeks. First off all, that video is not the only source claiming that smash was originally based/inspired/whatever by pinball.

Secondly, I was talking about the items as well, and the fact that all stage hazards threw people around back and forth, like a pinball game. There's an item in the game called the BUMPER.

And what do you mean the barrel isn't a reference to pinball? That's clearly the case, as many pinball machines have a "savior" mechanic that attempts to give a chance to stop the ball from falling to the bottom. I'm not ruling out the fact that its a reference to DKC, as it clearly is, but in SSB's case, it's inspired by both.

If I misspoke, I apologize. But the evidence is pretty clear that it was inspired by Pinball as well.

Responding to my post was so important that you not only had to double post, but even make an all caps post too? Incredible. Simply astounding. =D

But no, seriously, you're either a nutcase or you're--

he's a credible designer for Capcom.
...Obviously trolling.

Nevermind. Carry on. Have fun and goodnight. ¦D

Unless one of those sources is from something like Iwata asks or an interview with Sakurai, they don't really hold up well.

Being thrown back and forth happens in a lot of games, so I guess they are all pinball inspired then?

There's a baseball bat item and things get smashed around like a baseball but Smash isn't inspired by baseball.

I didn't say the barrel isn't a reference to pinball, I said it's more likely a reference to DKC.

It has to be from "Iwata Asks" or a Sakurai interview to be legitimate?

Did you not watch the video? He stated the company he works for, which is Capcom, as well as the fact that he was a lead designer of certain areas on the Street Fighter games. I'm not trolling. I've been here for 7 years, I have no reason to.

And I responded to you because you...quoted.. me.. I don't understand that, and you were mocking me in the first place, and yet you are again.

I'm so tired of the attitudes on here from new members.

Regardless, I admit I was wrong about the Dragon Fighter, but it still is obvious pinball inspired elements of the game as well. But there's no reason for you all to be rude. It's not lady like.

I heard SSB was originally a fan fiction that was going to have a violent love scene.

They liked the scene so much the decided to make the entire thing violent

Then decided to love part was too boring, and just kept the violence

Not necessarily legitimate but they seem to hold up more.
In other words, Sakurai saying something about Smash is more reliable than say a Nintendo employee saying something in Official Nintendo Magazine or on the news section on the Nintendo website.

Here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7CXVL_rhms

Official Nintendo Channel.
I just want to take a second and laugh at this series of videos, and he refers to KO's as kills, the phantasm as a teleport. He says you pretty much have all standard attacks down if you know them for one character, he lists smash balls and AT's when talking about stage control in a competitive environment. He also basically says spam B until side smash for a kill.
This guy is priceless, i can't believe i forgot about these vids

You haven't been here for 7 years according to your join date. Are we to just assume that you are telling the truth when you don't have evidence from "Iwata Asks" or a Sakruai interview? :troll:

Oh god the prima guide. All of my kek

It's hilarious how little these people knew about brawl, the guy who wrote the guide honestly thought that lucario's extremespeed only went up, it's like watching smash speculation vids and seeing how many moves they don't recognize or mislabel.

I know right, half the ("news") people I see talking about Smash Bros. know nothing about it. It's like, how hard can it be!? It's one of the more simpler fighters IMO. Like do they even have any actual Smash players in those places lol?

I find this absolutely hilarious considering that while I've lived in Virginia for most of my life, I was born in Indiana. XD

So now you make a "Hobbit" reference?! When I do one that is actually funny and relevant, you don't know what the Hobbit is... but when you do one that doesn't make sense it is okay?

Morbid.

Lord of the Rings.

It's what I watched first.

And I'm calling him a dirt-old wizard since he seems to think how long he's been here matters so much. XD
