Mother almost certainly isn't going to get more characters, but I wouldn't worry too much about losing either of the ones we already have. Sakurai thought they both merited inclusion in Brawl, and I really don't see him running into such time constraints where he'd have to cut one (Lucas) this time around. Plus it's not like there's a new Mother protagonist to "replace" anybody.

I'd be upset if one of the Mother/Earthbound characters was cut in favor of a new character. And I'm neutral on the idea of third Mother/Earthbound character.

Am I the only one who thinks that we aren't getting ANY Mario rep newcomers due to the 4-character cap? Other than Waluigi.................who will be put under Wario's franchise......

That doesn't even make any sense, considering Wario is representing Wario Ware, and Waluigi isn't in any Wario Ware games to my knowledge.

But yeah I don't expect new mario characters. Honestly though I don't know what to expect anymore.

It's hilarious that people say Toad has no moveset potential or isn't interesting/iconic/important enough, then go about requesting Waluigi and Bowser Jr.

There is no damn cap. Can't believe people still think there is. We had 5 in Melee! We had 5 planned for Brawl (in addition to Zelda and Pokemon having five planned - at least).

And no, as evidenced by Brawl, Waluigi would be a Mario character. Assuming he doesn't make an appearance in a Wario game before Smash 4 releases (which he won't).

Ya you have a point on the double posting. For a Mario Newcomer, I'd personally say Rosalina, and I think she has a pretty good chance of getting in do to Super Mario 3D World, the new Super Mario Galaxy stage, and the technical confirmation of Galaxy 3.

Didn't they have a petition for Reggie to be in the game? I believe he dignified it, but I don't know what happened to it.

Toad is iconic. Just not important or interesting.

Waluigi is interesting, but not immensely iconic or important.

Bowser Jr. is none of the above.

Out of the three, Waluigi is the most wacky of them with plenty of potential for a decent moveset, as showcased here and on the entirety of this channel dedicated to a very well done moveset made for him.

Well, to speak out of butthurtness.....I don't recall any mass critical downfall of the Zelda series past WW, in fact, I myself like all of the Zelda games that have come out post-WW better than, well, Wind Waker. Now I am content.

Okay, at first I was indifferent or possibly even apposed to having Waluigi in SSB4, but this video made me think that it would actually be hilarious if he joined the cast. He even looks like he would be fun to play as! And it also makes me pumped for the awesome music on the new Skyloft stage. :p
