I don't really like to character argue before potd, but I'll say this anyway:

In theory, Paper Mario is Mario. Since the character is literally him, that's undeniable.

In practice, he doesn't ACT like him and it;s even far from it. He doesn't HAVE to act like mario and it would even feel less natural.

Honestly, I'm waiting a reveal to clear some scepticism. It did for me on the Mii so....

The first thing we must see of Wario is a shot of him scratching his butt.

I really want a shot of him sleepily driving over characters, preferrably children, maybe Toon Link, Villager, MegaMan, Rosalina, Lucina, or others with his motorcycle with a caption saying something like "Sorry I'm late or whatever."

Toon Link "has so much he could use to be an original character." Sakurai just chose to ignore them.

I know he does. But he was 100% copy pasted from Brawl to SSB4. So therefore I hate him (but like him a hair more than YL.)

Have you ever seen Mario literally use a Fire Flower (as in not absorbing its power) in order to shoot a horde of fireballs?

Have you ever seen Mario team up with Goombas and Koopas?

I could go on and on...

The last "filler" picture we got was last monday, everything since then has been fairly significant. I predicat a nintendo direct will be announced (or perhaps another smash direct) this week or next for August.

As for the announcement? We've been getting a deluge of stages, which leads me to believe the stages are basically done at this point. Perhaps we'll get to see an official pic/name for the Kalos League stage on Wii u?

That's actually not true. You'll even be surprised how possible it is, but the true question is why doing it in the first place?

If I use "infinite potential", that implies that it includes clone possibilities. It's just not natural.

Lol, I know, I know. Of course he's Mario. He is extremely different from human Mario though. That's the whole point.

My point was that Paper Mario's 'B' won't make fireballs shoot out of his hand, because Paper Mario doesn't do that. He uses a Fireflower that spits out fireballs at his foes. I can see how similar that is to his original fire power, but the concept was made in a separate fashion.

And on the contrary, in my opinion anyway, it is a separate 'dimension' or 'universe' for the Mario series. Goombas, Lakitus, and Boos don't assist Mario, that I can think of. There aren't Koopa villages. And there are many different kinds of enemies not found in other Mario games, (though in the first game, there are mostly Mario-relative enemies).

I would much rather see Paper Mario than a lot of the speculated characters out there. And I am all up for series representation, though I haven't played a Metroid or FE game in my life. Why do we want Chorus Men, again? I'm confussss...

EDIT:: P.S. Seeing as the Paper Mario stage was shown on 3DS, makes me think that is all they want to represent Paper Mario with, so I am not so hopeful about his confirmation...And...

I think it's safe to say that anniversaries, fridays, patterns, etc really don't necessarily matter to whatever is coming out on the POTDs but hopefully the approaching release date has to influence it more by the day.

True, Sticker Star tried to implement the main series into the Paper Mario series. Which gave us one of the most disappointing sequels. However, in all the other ones, the flower does all the work.

Paper Mario is an unlikely, though I suppose not impossible, character in the first place. Can't we just look forward to tonight's picture of something other than a character reveal because random Wednesday character reveal is unprecedented?
