The better one: 64

It was really a great game, Everything was balanced and had awesome combos.

Too bad Melee didn't have the stuff that 64 did :ohwell:

well I should have excluded Pika from my list since he's always had a good recovery along with kirby but as for Ness, his recovery is also easily gimped. Lucas' on the other hand is pretty good. and no, i wouldn't call wave dashing a glitch, more of an advanced technique. I should have placed L-cancel under that category as well.

so is there anyone intelligent who doesn't have to curse in their posts? cursing doesn't make a stronger emphasis on your points, it just makes you look as stupid as the previous poster.
brawl ****ing sucks. the game feels like complete ****. youre a ****ing idiot ***** ***** **** you *****.

rofl. brawl does suck.

its a piece of s***.

this other guy just cant see that. and how little skill it takes.

wow, looks like you guys can barely finish your words with all that meat in your mouth XD

well i find it funny how mostly everyone is on the brawl boards while there's like 5 of you here. Instead of wasting your time throwing fuel to the fire, why not actually get better at brawl instead of hating it because you suck at it. ;)

hmmm, seeing as how i consider 99.99% of the world to be comprised of complete ******* (such as yourself), i would say the ratio of whatever:5 sounds REALLY accurate

I never flame, so I will resist yet again.

But this post, this post you made... this is the attitude that misses the point. This is the understanding of the Smash community, and even gaming in general, that is utterly deficient and nearsighted.

I could say what I want about how ignorant of each game's qualities you are making yourself out to be, but that's already been done by others here.

You may as well leave, but if you want to have more fun and also make the boards more interesting for everyone then by all means hang around and argue :chuckle:

Seriously, no one disrespects your opinion (hopefully) and forums almost always equate to nonstop debate (at a high or low level), you're just not getting the essence of everyone else's opinion, as indeed the history and community of smash may have flown right over your head, as have perhaps the subtleties and mechanics of the games themselves...

P.S. Debating Pro Tip - insults don't count as any kind of refutation. They also make all your previous posts less valid because you start sounding like a moron.

As said before no disrespect. Just understand where everyone is coming from, and also notice the title of the forum section you are currently discussing in :p

no combos- there are combos in this game. It may not have AS MUCH combos as melee or SSB64, but they're there.

lag cancel- stop b****ing about exploits found in melee, if you were any good you would know how to use brawl aerials efficiently.

mile away ledges being able to be grabbed- uhh in my own opinion, i say it makes edgeguarding an important part of your game.

first of all, let me thank you for not being like everyone else in this topic; you actually seem pretty cool. But how are my posts and I ignorant? People have listed some of brawl's "faults" and i have defended them. I'm not denying SSB64 is in anyway bad nor did i ever say it was, it's still a good game. But slightly mentioning the word brawl seems to rattle the monkey's cages around here.

What I was trying to say from the get go was, just because something doesn't suit your style(Brawl) doesn't mean you should go insulting and bashing it to death, just simply avoid it. something like: "brawl, in all honesty, just doesn't play how i liked the previous SSBs". now something like that is cool but so far all I've gotten was "duuuuuuuuur brawl sucks SBB64=best durrr" :chuckle:

Also, it's hard to get "the essence of everyone Else's opinion" when every other "comeback" is brawl sucks. That is their opinion but it's not backed up by anything and the reasons people did list, is all about preference :p except tripping..i think it's safe to say everyone hates that.

lol at the insult part...tell me about it :ohwell: but i do get the gist of where these people are coming from. but wow XD

Wow, harsh words Dyan. D:
Coming from Dylan regarding Brawl, this is nothing haha

It's totally true though, now that I finally have Melee, meaning I can switch easily between 64 and Melee, my urge to play Brawl has dissipated almost entirely.

I'm still leaning towards preferring 64 because of the sheer comboability of the game, and the familiarity which allows you to play as the WHOLE cast and do almost as well with every character as you do with whoever you consider to be your mains.

My belief is that most people don't regard 64 as highly as they should because they never knew how intense and competetive it can get. Everyone will play it if you pop the game in, but barely anyone will play it at nearly as high of a level as they do when playing Melee.

i can almost 100% guarantee that if you start playing melee competitively you'll find it more fun...everything is so much faster…takes more accuracy and with sweet spots making for good KOs...things like...Falcons Uair combos (which are a LOT harder and far more sexy…er, the Knee and Marths tipper killing at 50% make melee an awesome game to sit down and go

WTF...dun hax!

I -love- melee, but since I have a lot of responsibility with my child plus a band to play in im always busy, I dont have the time I used to have to play melee at a friends house for 5-8 hours. But I miss playing melee a lot.

Ssb64 is good for me because its my favorite of the 3 gameplay wise, and the online is pretty ok.

The very first post of this thread was trolling brawl........

Anyways, you guys are so dumb, quit getting so worked up over a game that didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. That doesn't give you an excuse to cry and throw a fit and flame everytime someone mentions it. It goes the other way around too. Most people that are great at melee and 64 would **** *** in brawl if they wanted to play it because they are extremely experienced, but they choose not to because they like the gameplay better in the older games. If you don't like brawl, then don't mention it, or when you do, just say I don't like brawl rather than starting an argument that goes on for seven pages. The fact is, brawl is going to get mentioned because it's part of the series, even if the gameplay is completely different, so it's going to get discussed anywhere you go on this site. You can't pretend it doesn't exist.

everyone should do this...give straight forward opinions without trying to accomplish why

Politics would be more fun

Brawl sucks.

I'm mixed between 64 and Melee.

On 1 hand, Melee's combos aren't quite as lethal as 64s. And the game is much more faster and advanced.

On the other hand, 64 is more balanced (Pikachu and Kirby can be punished just as well as they can unleash it) and Kirby is truly good (not that dumb Melee Kirby).

All I CAN say is 64 & Melee> Brawl.

Though I might play hacked Brawl more (L-cancel and Wavedash hacks FTW).

omg, there is something new, a smash 64 forum topic that turned into a flaming war......oh wait never mind, its the normal

for brawl vs melee vs 64
i prefer 64 for its balance besides Pikachu and its great online emulation
I like melee for its speed and its depth
If brawl had the depth of melee and the balance of smash 64, I would be playing that game a whole lot more often.
The only thing I ever disliked about melee was the simple fact that at least in the other games, It is a whole lot easier for a lower tier to beat a higher tier.

Why Nintendo guys don't get rid of the brawl failure?

All they should do is get SSB64 with the same physics, improve the graphics, add some more characters (balanced ones), more items and more stages D:

I wouldn't really consider it a failure to there games because it wasn't. From what I heard there were people complaining about hitstun, wavedash, waveland, etc. Plus on one of the threads they said Sakurai didn't like the big scence of competition. Melee was the best in my opinion, then 64. In the long run though all these games are over C average.
