*insert random trolling brawl post*

In all honesty, I'm not really sure which game I prefer the most. NO ONE in st. louis plays 64, and the only people that play melee get together on fridays when I'm working. So the only game I actually get to play with actual people becomes brawl, which makes me focus on it more than 64 or melee. I do have more fun when I play 64 or melee with people, but I don't know if that's because they are faster and more skill orientated, or if I just like them because it's something fresh.

True, same **** here...
The problem is that people stick on the new stuff, no matter if its good or bad (Brawl) and forget about the old stuff no matter now good it is (SSB64)

Melee > Smash64 > Brawl

Smash64 is better than Brawl not just for AT's and combos, but the game also feels a lot more cartoony, imo. But I still love Melee more 'cause of Falco and Ganondorf.

lol brawl's online is such fail. It's sad that an emulator can offer about a 10x better online service than Nintendo can. I never play online.

But then, I also can't seem to get an emulator running on my computer, which truly sucks ***.

that's why I'm currently playing chrono trigger in my spare time, since practicing melee is bleh and practicing brawl is more fun (only because lvl. 9 computers do more than spam neutral A) but does just about nothing.

um I'd say that "problem" is called evolution or "upgrades", so to speak. without the new, things like nostalgia wouldn't exist.

i don't really think it's fair to dog on something just because you either don't like it or in other words, doesn't suit your preference... so all in all, play what you like, but at the same time don't put down what other people like. I know you CAN put down what ever you want but that's ignorant. anyway, IMO melee is better than SSB64, but brawl is better than melee.

back@topic:

i'd saaaayy, if i got into the competitive scene for melee back in the early 2000's i would say
Melee > 64

but since i didnt its eh

so 64 > melee

meowkitty gives reading lessons but he has not been around for a while D:

sucks to be you i suppose

my advice would be to start with some thing easy like "green eggs and ham", then work your way up to big kid books

Melee is definitely the better competitive game.

Nothing is more fun than 64 Yoshi though.

Hmm, I have to compare.

64

Kirby is gawd
Hyrule Temple
Star Rod

Melee

Kirby can turn into Lip's garbage block
Lip's Stick item
Fountan of Dreams theme song
Star Rod return

So there you have it, I pick Melee compared to those two.

SSB64 board to tuff for you little man?

lol still here but first of all, when did i ever say "bawwwwwwwww" before this? and secondly, read the first sentence of my last post carefully. This board is far from tough, everyone here is just caught up on how ol...awesome SSB64 is. I think it's a great game but I think Hal Lab made nice improvements all the way through brawl. It's not like i came in here and randomly started trolling with things like "hardy har har SSB64 is old and dumb and brawl pwns :p". I came here and simply stated my opinion. We're all entitles to our own opinions so hop off my ****

Like tripping, slower pace, no combos, ridiculous DI, very overpowered characters (Metaknight), no aerial attack lag cancel, ledges that can be grabbed from a mile away, and amazing recoveries for every character?

Wow, those are great improvements. Brawl is so awesome!

Did this thread turn into a Brawl vs. Melee vs. 64 thread? If that's the case then I will vote on the game that has Lip's Theme in it.

You're not leaving? Crap.

Lol fail.

SSB64 is awesome
Yes it is.

Yes melee did have some improvements...

...through brawl.
LOL no

You come on here acting like SSB64 is some outdated game for which there CAN'T POSSIBLY be a reason for playing it because Brawl is out and Brawl is in every way better than 64.

Your opinion sucks ***. Not only that, but you can in here uninformed about anything pretending that Brawl was just all the smash games before it with improvements in everything. This is my opinion, so hop off our ***** and go back to the barf... brawl boards.

well I will agree with you on somethings but like i said earlier, what we like is based on preference...and i prefer brawl. Yes I have played all 3 of them and I liked them all. Anyway like i assume you do, I also hate tripping. But the those other factors of brawl doesn't bother me at all.

tripping-fail =/

slower pace- I like it. It suits MY style of play more.

no combos- there are combos in this game. It may not have AS MUCH combos as melee or SSB64, but they're there.

DI- i wouldn't say its ridiculous, but I will say some characters have way more DI than others. (obviously):ohwell:

OP characters- ok so there's meta knight. If i can recall melee and SSB64 had broken characters too...Fox and pikachu?

lag cancel- stop b****ing about exploits found in melee, if you were any good you would know how to use brawl aerials efficiently.

mile away ledges being able to be grabbed- uhh in my own opinion, i say it makes edgeguarding an important part of your game.

amazing recoveries for every charcater- I almost LOL'd but i'm going to assume you were using a hyperbole. there are more characters with bad recoveries than characters with good ones.

MK
Rob
Sonic
Charizard
Dedede
G&W
Toon link
pika

i'm not saying snakes or pits because their recoveries are horribly gimped.

you know what. you're right about something. I did give off the impression that NO ONE plays SSB64 which i didn't mean to do despite me hinting at the fact it was old. i still play Oot and ALTTP. But i never hinted at the fact no one should play this because it's old, it's an awesome game.

and your opinion of my opinion sucks wood, in my opinion  and i didn't come in her uninformed of anything. I'm not you. and your last sentence kind of removed all doubt that you sir, are ignorant...go live in your blissful world.

you forgot kirby and ness.

plus l cancelling isnt an exploit. its in smash 64 also as zcancelling.

and everyone has amazing recoveries in brawl.

i bet you think wavedashing is a glitch too.

learn your s***.

well I should have excluded Pika from my list since he's always had a good recovery along with kirby but as for Ness, his recovery is also easily gimped. Lucas' on the other hand is pretty good. and no, i wouldn't call wave dashing a glitch, more of an advanced technique. I should have placed L-cancel under that category as well.

so is there anyone intelligent who doesn't have to curse in their posts? cursing doesn't make a stronger emphasis on your points, it just makes you look as stupid as the previous poster.
