You guys serious about the "Too many hosts" problem? Honestly thats a first for me.

I've lived in GA and FL and both of them. GA has the problem of having literally only one host in the entire state. CFL had a solid host, but their tournaments we're spaced apart pretty far. That, and they lost their main host recently.

So I can expect lots of tournaments frequently here?

I go to UMBC and the gameroom there is big. Also tourneys have been run there in the past by people. When I go back to school next week I'll check to see if I could host UMBC tourneys with Brawl, Brawl+, or melee. Most likely we will be able too. Just gotta talk to people there. There are plenty of TVs just need Wii's really.

They also have pool tables and table tennis for anyone who would want to play that as a side tourney or just for fun.

Throwing out an idea -- and don't flame me for it -- designate Melee and Brawl on specific dates on a calendar.

1st and 3rd Saturdays -- Brawl

2nd and 4th Saturdays -- Melee

5th Saturdays -- Smashfest/Practice/Brawl+ (the first two are Omni's idea...plus, 5th Saturdays only happen 5 times a year)

Tant, WTF happened to that laser tag venue you had? lol

And I'll be able to help out with livestream/recording setups as always...I play neither Brawl/Melee anymore (yay B+) but I always help out everyone.

^I like that idea. Being able to host a large B+ tourney once every other month without having to compete with a local Brawl tourney would be pretty nice. I have no problem bringing in OOSers, it's getting the local B+ players to come that's tough when there is a Brawl tourney every weekend.

With a deal like this I would gladly bring my 3 TVs to every non-B+ tourney I can (or let Tant borrow them), as long as I can keep one for B+ friendlies.

Oh and if anyone is still on the fence about picking up Brawl+, the set we used at Pound and Hackfest is going to be used for a long time. We have a new leader and are going with a new philosophy of stability. So you don't have to worry about practicing for nothing due to characters constantly changing anymore.

also smashers are some of my best friends and hanging out with them is funner then hanging out with my "other" friends

I hate it when there's a Brawl tournament every weekend. Really annoying and I don't want to go to them so consecutively.

Plus Pound 4 reunited me with all of my fallen MD/VA brethern. I miss these guys and the only reason why they're not involved with us anymore is because Melee tournaments are never being held anymore. It would be awesome to get Melee back on and going again to revive the community in more ways than one.

Let the players and TOs decide that. If no one around here wants to sacrifice one weekend every 2 months for Brawl+, I'll be content to just continue running side tourneys at majors or stealing whatever attendance I can from Brawl tourneys. I'd rather discuss this like an adult though, which means not with you.

I can bring in more OOSers for Brawl+ than any random Brawl tourney gets around here. It would be a pretty big, serious tournament if all the people in MD/VA who enjoy Brawl+ actually came because there wasn't a competing Brawl tourney that weekend.

I would also gladly help out other tourneys with my 3 TVs. MD/VA tourneys tend to have a severe lack of setups so I know this would help out.

I'm not going to force it on MD/VA though. It's just a suggestion. 1 big Brawl+ tourney every 2 months and a few extra TVs at the weekly tourneys, or continue with the status quo.

You completely missed my point here.

5th Saturdays could go either way. There would be a huge smashfest OR practice OR Brawl+, there would NOT be one main event here and each one could go either way with the community itself.

If some people want to go to a Brawl smashfest on a 5th Saturday? K. To Sassy's!
If other people want to go somewhere to Melee on the 5th Saturday? K. To UMBC!
If the remaining people want to do Brawl+ on the 5th Saturday? K. To JCz farm!

All 3 could happen on the 5th Saturday. Or 1 thing. Or zero. Nothing is limited.

If you were referring to something else, then tell me.

To be honest, I don't think anything good is going to be the outcome of this thread...it's probably going to stay the same.
