Are members being accepted at the moment? I'm thinking about applying as I'm about to dive into stage hacking.

YA SURE. JUST APPLY THROUGH THE USER CP. OH WAIT THAT ISH IS BROKE.

Seriously though. The application functionality in user cp is broken.

I have plans to fulfill soon though.

Not that I'll get in, but more than likely tomorrow I plan on putting an application through. Aware of the situation you're having, but I would at least like to have something ready for the review process.

Okay, it's time to spill the beans. None of the applications are ever looked at in much depth. We mostly just ctrl+F to see if specific people we want have applied yet, and if not then we skim and check the supporting links. This is mostly because in previous years, the easiest way (and subsequently most common way) of gaining admittance into the MBR was any of being grandfathered in, being European (since we had a quota of required Europeans), or sleeping with a random member of the recruitment staff (in those days, I would recommend Cactuar but he's married now). Alternatively you could have tons of useful posts handy that you can flaunt that illustrate how well you understand Melee but - let's face it - almost none of the applicants ever have that so usually the above three methods are the best. However, one basically relies on SWF social status and the other requires you live in Europe. So the only real one that's readily accessible to everyone is sleeping their way into the backroom.

I recommend Cactuar.

If that's what it takes....

KK, Cactuar, brace yourselves. You're about to get the big ol' Dempt. And a lot of him.

Casual homosexuality just makes everything go down smoother.

Take that however you want.

It's like an entendre followed by an entendre.

I got nothing for that last one though.

Wow why is everything so easy to twist into a sexual slur?

Just curious, who was the last person who was accepted and when were they given the title?
Probably Terral, near the start of the semester i think? Hes the guy thats working on the new SSBPD equivalent

but also know that he had to be manually added by the admins and it took forever. Sometime early in the year, smashboards made it impossible to publicly apply for user groups. Idk why. Now we have to beg and plead with the admins every time we need something done, which obviously isnt ideal.

Yeah, I get that. But that's what part of being an admin/members of an online forum. Trust me, I've admined/modded plenty of forums, but **** got done. Wasn't exactly ideal seeing as how I had a job and barely had time to do anything else, but I still did it because it had to be done.

Not saying our staff/MBR isn't active enough, but wouldn't it make since to swap out for those who are a bit more active? If I knew there was any openings in the Moderator field, I'd be more than apt to sign up there with the experience I have (Admin/Mod Resume, LOOOOOL). But still, definitely something I'd be more interested in than MBR, although a purple name would be sexy as hell compared to that of a green one. I'd just like to see and put some the areas voice into what's going on back there, if anything is at all, and if it's more of just a Poopchat deal, then nevermind.

as far as i remember you need more than just admin rights to Smashboards in order for things like this, you need developer rights, which afaik there's only MLG members in that position(maybe Xivii/Ankoku? not sure)

And trust me when I say the administrator staff is made up of a lot of people more competent at this than you. I know that seems harsh, but trust me, if there was something that could be done about this, it would be done. It's not "We dont want to do it" it's "Its literally so unreasonably time consuming to do this just to add one person that it would be easier to just raise money and buy Smashboards back from MLG because MLG sucks"

MLG Sucks
