The version of Dracula's Castle where you actually fight Dracula is different than the stage itself. It's completely flat and the background is different.

Speculation: It could be the single player campaign version of the stage? Maaaaaaaaybe.

I'm pretty sure the Monster Hunter stage and the flat version of Dracula's Castle appear in a boss mode or Spirits mode.

For the whole stage to change while playing sounds really odd, as does the Monster Hunter stage not being revealed as an actual stage you can select.

From what I make of that, it sounds more like you encounter Dracula as a regular boss in a mode similar to that of Melee's Adventure mode, where you can uncover alternate paths by fufilling certain conditions.

The bosses footages never show players fighting each other. They are always single player or coop, these are not normal stages that appear playing the multiplayer matches at random. When stage bosses we're introduced in 4 they were clearly made as a weapon that you want to use to your advantage in normal brawls. These guys totally feel story-mode like.

I said this earlier in the topic, but I'll say it again: I think most bosses will be fought on flat versions of multiplayer stages. After all, that is the case for Dracula. If Skull Kid were to be a boss, he would probably be fought on a flat version of Great Bay. The Moon is already on that stage, so it would be a fitting arena. They would probably implement some time limit gimmick.

With that being said, I think it's unlikely that Skull Kid will be a boss. It's not impossible, but there are much better boss choices from the Zelda franchise.

If he's in, then we're probably getting the moon tree as a stage or something. No way they're using great bay.

It's merely a prediction. I agree that Great Bay would not be the best setting for such a boss fight. After all, he's never seen there in MM. Gyorg would be a more suitable boss for Great Bay. Still, the Moon and the Four Giants are there, all characters heavily linked to Skull Kid. I guess Sakurai might use that as justification to put Skull Kid on Great Bay.
It's honestly pretty difficult to come up with a fitting boss arena for a Skull Kid + Majora's Wrath fight, because the two are never seen at the same place. This is one of the many reasons why I'm not expecting a Skull Kid boss fight.

A potential counterpoint that doesn't really mean anything to me because I think the idea of Skull Kid as a boss is a joke, but Metal Face was never fought or encounted on Gaur Plains/Bionis Leg, the closest to meeting him there is just outside Colony 6 Ether Mine.

Great Bay is a Majora's Mask stage (currently without a Majora's Mask character), and Zelda already got a new stage in this game. I don't think it's getting two.

After the last week I don't know what to think about the 10:00 announcements..... there were more directs announced at this hour in the past or just the september one?

Directs are commonly, but not always, announced at that time. But usually, a Direct announcement will be the first thing they post in a given day.

There are exceptions, of course; the January Direct was just dropped at 6AM (PT) one day, not even streamed or announced.

Very true, I actually don't expect a direct at all, I just think we'll get a lone character reveal trailer like how they handled Robin back in the day.

As much as I want tomorrow's rumored Direct to be true, I think you're probably right. We might get a reveal this month, but I think November is the likeliest time for a full Direct.

Pretty weird knowing that the playlist was updated and the "new" button in the website hidden (it's visible right now btw?)... usually there're only 10 days between them and an announcement, and now we're in the 15th day.... I don't know if they'll keep this for 30 days or more, I'm sure they already have a character that playlist...strange they're not showing it.

Regarding it being unlikely that Skull Kid is a boss, I just remembered that one of the characters is both an Assit Trophy and a boss, so I feel like if Skull Kid were a boss in that way his Assist Trophy would have been shown by now. If they wanted him to be a surprise boss they could still have his Assist Trophy.

The fact that they haven't along with all the other AT stuff, not seeing Young Link's Final Smash, etc., still has me convinced Skull Kid is a playable character.

I do feel like if we don't get something this week, we're not getting anything this month. I can't see them doing a character reveal next week and then a full Smash Direct less than a month after, and I don't think they're going to do a Smash Direct like...two weeks before the game comes out.

You're right though, the fact that there's at least one reveal video just sitting in that playlist and they haven't shown it yet is very odd.
