I'm of the camp that we don't need another fire themed brawler, but the fact Incineroar has fans makes it a hard critique since he would make many people very happy, including my roommate who was vocal about Incineroar superiority when Sun and Moon first released.

Like, would I have preferred Decidueye? For sure. But Incineroar is a fine choice too, and even if you disagree, there's no reason to be rude about it. Every character has fans, and we don't need to come across as the fanbase that dunks on every other character. Geno fans already don't want to come here because of the vitriol!

I get why they say Ken, but what makes them say Incineroar? If it's Vergeben, he also said we're getting another Square Enix character... Which doesn't add up with the box theory. I believe in Vergeben more than the box theory and music theory, but I don't think we're only getting 2 or 3 more characters either. At least, four, counting Echos. At most, counting Echos, 6 or 7.

Well, of course. He's gotten a few inconsistencies, like with that whole Castlevania bundle thing coming to switch with Simon's announcements, but he's been pretty on point when it comes to characters.

You could argue that characters like Chrom, Dark Samus, Isabelle, and Ken were predictable, but you can't quite exactly say the same for no one being cut, Daisy and Ridley getting announced, and Snake being back in as predictable. In terms of Smash Bros. content, he's extremely reliable. But he doesn't seem to know everything, and if he does, he leaves details out.

There's the possibility that he'll end up coming out as a fraud in the future, or he'll make some major slip-up on a character. But, aside from a real Nintendo employee, an employee of another company involved in Smash, or Sakurai, Vergeben is the most reliable source. Not perfect, but he's got a far better track record than any other leaker out there when it comes to smash.

Heh. Much like I am with the other SK in this game, Shovel Knight, I was happy he got the nod at all for Smash 4. But obviously I'm hoping for a promotion this time around!

I'm pretty sure he was added in Legends due to the backlash of him not being in the MM DLC pack.

Well, that's embarrassing. I think I confused that bit with some other leakers. I think it's safe to replace Chrom and Dark Samus with the Ice Climbers in what I've said.

From what I can remember, Skull kid was added to the game as a playable character not only because of high demand from the fans, but the devs of the game were huge Majora's Mask fans and were really pushing for Nintendo to let them put him in the game as playable for DLC.

He might not be able to have many that work, I keep thinking TP Skull Kid, but if the mask plays a role in his moveset I don't know how that would work

Speaking of disappointed, the fact that Toon Link has never had an Outset or Conductor alt is a travesty. But every Link needs a Dark Link outfit, right?

I miss his plain black tunic, it looked way better.

Well, maybe not changing the whole mask, per say, but giving the mask it's own costume-themed palette swaps definitely sounds appealing.

There is some hope for at least one MM alt skin. I don't think it would be that hard to add an alt skin with a different sword and shield.

Speaking of MM themed alt skins, it would be great to have some masks for YLink alts (not the Deku, Goron, Zora, Giant or FD for obvious reasons). A bit like what they did in Hyrule Warriors with the Keaton Mask.
