Feels like the mario boards are dying a little bit.

Just gotta win tournaments. People gonna flock to Mario once we take out a big name.

In fact, I'm gonna try to fight Ally again next tournament. It seems his Pit is getting annoying for the rest of MI, and I think it's high time I forced a character change. What better way to get the Mario boards revitalized than forcing an international player to counterpick?

Especially when I feel like beating his Snake, too.

...I hope he doesn't CP to MK though. Then I really don't stand an icecube's chance in hell. But I'm confident against his Pit, and his Snake... Jab like your life depends on it when you're close, and pay mind to his setups. They're sexy, but dangerous.

So i check out the melee tier list & saw dr.mario being the 9th best character in the game and mario being 13th. lol wow

That tier list has changed a lot since I played melee.

Mario's representation is extremely low in Melee IIRC. A lot of high level players consider Mario to be the better of the two, overall...but Doc definitely has the edge in a lot of match-ups.

Doc has a Ph.D, there is no way regular mario is better.

Doc is better than Mario...the only difference between the two is Doc is heavier and has more kill power...everything else is the same...right down to the combos basically

Cuz Mario has the edge in a lot of them as well, lol. At least, as far as I remember. I haven't been following the progress of the metagame for awhile now though. I don't even know who the top Marios are anymore.

I just know that Mario was a little better in some match-ups and Doc was a little better in some match-ups, but they were generally the same. Some of them were just a preference thing.

Mario's Fair and Utilt were amaaaaaaaazing on Melee, btw. Too goodz. Doc's Dthrow to Fair were also toooo goooood.

Melee's amazing.

Personally, I think Doc is better because of his ko power. Also, LOL@ Ph.D reasoning.

Doc's higher on the tier list, so his edges are probably a little bit more valuable.

Doc is generally better due to his CG on a lot of characters and the extra kill power+damage output over Mario and his heavier weight allowing him lo live slightly longer, while Mario is better as some MUs because his utilt would combo some characters better and his less weight made him slightly harder to combo. Ex, Captain Falcon; while Doc's CG works, its not amazing against him+hes hard to grab with doc, while Mario's utilt is easier to get and works really well, plus Doc is pretty much the perfect weight for Falcon to combo, while Mario is actually a bit difficult sometimes.

Hey guys long time no see!!! Sorry I haven't been on the boards in a while! Haven't been playing much brawl lately because of trumpet… Ha Ha I actually just got back from touring China with a Jazz band yesterday. It was a great experience. Played 8 concerts in Beijing, Xi'an, and Cheng Du, with the last concert having 4,000 people in attendance. And I kicked off the last concert with a kick-a$$ trumpet solo, if I do say so myself. Got mobbed by about 60 Chinese girls afterwards who all wanted my picture. It was a fun time. So what's been going on?
