From my experience, this is not the case. Almost every game I have played where town thought "All right, let's name claim and then all the pieces will fall together!" doesn't end up that way. If they have a janitor (which seems highly likely), then there is at least one scum that has a good claim.
Are you expecting some mafia member to break under pressure after the claim and just completely blow a claim? From my experience that's only ever happened once and when it did happen we all considered it a fluke.
I used to be in favor of nameclaims whenever (due to a personal conviction that if I knew all the roles I could sort it out) but that isn't the case anymore. If it's lategame, yeah, depends on the circumstances. But not now when we know nothing.
@ Gheb, yeah I completely agree that a some of the cop's primary jobs are to both survive and try to have as many living investigations later in the game as possible. What I was criticizing was the assumption that Tom/OS were "prime NK targets" because they simply weren't, and my analysis in my previous post covers why.

I'd still rather wait and see Riddle's flip before agreeing with that. If your theory holds true and Riddle does flip scum then I see no reason why we shouldn't do it. Right now however I'd consider it somewhat distracting since we have a pretty clear lynch target for toDay already. Riddle's flip will give us a good chance to see if your theory has some sort of empirical back-up so I'm sure it's in your interest as well to keep patient with the mass claim for now.

I think that new topics of conversation sounds like a good idea. It makes it very possibly for people to skate by without having opinions of their own.
I literally read that post as "Please talk about things other than me". I'm not joking.
Anyways, I'm willing to end the Day if we don't get any other worthwhile discussion going. I think FF's flame out of Tom was TvT for several reasons, but pardon me if I don't elaborate at the moment. I still think Steel is skating by today and don't like it.

Sorry guys, sister's grad party was yesterday and i've spent the last 3 or so days helping prepare for it/set it up. I have to go tear it down in a few minutes but I'll say my two cents.

I find them to be untrustworthy and mods can easily work around names so a game isn't broken through one. We learned that in Dinomafia, I believe it was (a game being broken by a nameclaim, that is).
If Riddle flips town, there's obviously a couple scenarios that have to do with Summoner we should consider, but I think we should take a look back at Steel as well.

Gah I missed the end of the lynch day. Not sure if everyone saw but I was L/A on Saturday for a big concert, and some stuff kept me away from my computer most of the time since there. Regardless, yay scum lynch!(It's pretty obvious based off Riddle's comments before anyone tries to use this against me) Assuming that the obvious proves true, any potential docs may want to not overthink their action too much.

Yea....because we all know the chances of the SK not killing one of those three just because you say you will believe they are a Vig if they do so -_-.....I would also laugh so freaking hard if one of the other 2 turned out to be a PR.
Coming to think of it, If you don't think the indy is a SK, what role do you think it would be then Tom? =P
