Hey Frank.
I kept getting hit by shine, then immediately grabbed by your fox quite a few times Thursday from dashing into a shinegrab. I'm DIing bad or crouch canceling the shine? Or does that simply work if you do it fast enough?

you need mad momentum for both to hit, plus I assume if you DI away that the grab will miss, but thats not really my goal anyway when I shinegrab

Smash is in Sift & Winnow Thursday, which is the room at the end of the 2nd floor (go straight at the top of the stairs, turn right after the bathrooms, at the end of that hall) where we were once last semester. I won't be able to go, sadly, so bring setups if you can.

Delay aerials a bit more. Don't get baited into shieldgrabbing everything. Somehow figure out how to get off the ledge. And figure out some alternative instead of being scared of getting hit and throwing out random attacks to cover my fear.

Maybe with some characters. Fox and falco can do it for free, but most people choose not to.

Most everyone has a really good wave land off the ledge, but people tend to have really bad habits on the ledge.

sam, one thing i notice is that, when you're about to stop shino stalling and jump off the ledge onstage, there's a slight delay. you tend to shino stall at a regular rhythm, and when you disrupt that rhythm i know you're usually gonna jump. that's why i keep hitting you with falco fsmashes lol

one really important aspect of mindgames is timing your movements irregularly

you cant really time your movements irregularly to keep invincibility.
he should actually keep his movement regular to stop having a tell.

like mundungu said, ledgehop waveland is beast with just about everybody except like peach, ness, and sorta marth.

Prior to reading some of this thread frootloop was the coolest player.
Sorry, man, but Sanchaz is way cooler.

Sanchaz may be the funniest person, but how is FrootLoop not the coolest player? He's the Silent Spectre of the Midwest.

good fest yesterday it had everything: impossible team synergy, intense rob gamvino discussion, and sanchaz finally said that I am not a bad player.

That seems like it could be very hard to tell what's going on and accidentally SD. I'd rather fix the not enough setups problem by going down to Madison whenever you guys host a tourney/fest or whatever. Alternatively, have you guys looked on Craigslist for CRTs/gamecubes? You'll more often than not find a CRT for $15-20 or less that are about 19" or so. Gamecubes are hard to come by on Craigslist, so you'll probably need to get one on ebay.

we don't really have a "not enough setups" problem
it'd be harder to SD than in teams, since there's never that moment that one attack hits 2 people, which is the only time I've ever seen people get confused about who they are.
The code like automatically adjusts teams after the match too, so for the next match 1st and 2nd place get paired up and 3rd and 4th place get paired up.
It'd be cool to try but I think I'd like teams more

I have Action Replay, and I'm gonna be messin with it to get some neato frame data. I hope to learn as much as I can about this game.

I'm not saying it matters and that it will make me that much of a player, I'm just a total nerd and I enjoy this kind of research.

new smasher, weekly smashfests?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the active smash community, but I've been playing and keeping up with tournament wins and whatnot (via youtube and all that) for a few years now. I moved to Madison in June and would love to become more active in the community around here. Is there a weekly dealio that I could partake in?
