Utilt is a rapist since like melee. It gives a free 20%-30%, and does abit more on heavier characters. It's always a niceset up for the air. Comes as afollow up after Nairs, it somewhat kills at around 110%s+. It can clank with alot, *WITH MARTHS FSMASH LOL*.

Utilt (Wrist Fling? He like bends his hand backwards when he does it) is pretty good against rollers since it hits behind Luigi. I don't use this move nearly as much as I should, I've gotten used to spotdodging and buffering a turnaround F-tilt against rollers, but U-tilt would probably do the trick better.

pretty much everything else has been said... *wants to contribute* =(

I love the journal format

Aw, Delvro, you just get the next move discussion. Also, the Wrist Fling inspires me to call it the food fight. Repeatedly fling government created crap at each other. Anyway, I'm updating now. We have enough info.

I think you should put the real name of the move next to the title of the journal entry. I can't really tell what move "food fight" is, and some people might get confused.

Also, this is a great idea, and i'm learning the moves and getting some laughs in. This moveset discussion is great.

Anyways, for the F-Smash, I think it's possibly the quickest strong kill move when tilted up. Either that, or Kirby's F-Smash. It's for sure one of Luigi's best moves in his arsenal.

Holy jesus. The fingerbang is just plain godly. Kills light characters late 70%s-80%s, kills mostly on 90%s, It has IASA frames, it literally has no lag at all. The gey thing its short ranged and hard to set up.

So I've been using WAH! (Or the Throat Jab, an up tilted WAH!) for about a month now, and it's amazing. It beats people up like they owe him money. Which is an entirely feasable explanation... he extends his hands out like he wants something from you...

There's a topic about how broken it is on here somewheres.
It kills at 90% or less, and can be cancelled on frame 28 or something?

My fave setup is SHFFAD Throat Jab, biggest surprise move ever.
Spamming it is also surprisingly effective and scares people more than Luigi's Mansion.

Only downside is that its range sucks, but we've found plenty of ways around that, haven't we?

I haven't tried that out enough, it's so fast, I need to practice AD's more because the speed up all gameplay.

I forgot who it was on these boards who said that they call the move "Pizzaman" and when you hit with it you yell "HERE IS YOUR PIZZA SIR!" I thought that was hilarious, so I'm going to name the move Free Delivery.

Lol @ the inclusion of the "fingerbang"

for up-smash, I think it's pretty solid, and is Luigi's balanced smash, good power, decent for set-ups i guess, and pretty fast especially if the opponent is behind you.

I love upsmash and its deceptive range. I sometimes can fully charge an upsmash and my opponent will run into it not knowing it has so much range lol.

I have done a dsmash to a usmash, the dsmash puts them behind you and usmash fires them up. But I think that only works consistently with big characters.

If you hit them with the second hitbox it sends them in front of you and up. At low %s it's possible to hit with both and it does like 30%.

Sweetspot for Usmash is epic win. Kills at like 90%
Sweetspot? Do you mean hitting an aerial opponent at the top of its range? Cause that kills at like 90. Mostly because knockback on aerial people is higher, and they're closer to the top to begin with.

Up smash has pretty good range behind him, but the range above Luigi isnt the greatest.

Ex: It cant reach an opponent standing on the low platforms on battlefield.

If someone is standing on a platform in BF, if they are at all vulnerable I go for UpB. Come up from below and kill.

Eh, I don't know. I don't want to take it upon myself to do an entire entry without discussion...

Dsmash shouldn't be used to kill, revel in its range and use the tips of his shoes to knock people away and space yourself (the tip of the shoes knocks them more horizontally, while the top parts are more vertical, goes without saying).

This is a great move against rollers, and if you are in the optimal position, you can hit them twice (doing the full swing of the move).

At low percents you can do a Dsmash > Ftilt and go from there.

This is the easiest smash to buffer IMO, so its great to swoop in and land a quick Dsmash. I find it fast enough start up lag wise to do out of a jab cancel, but I think that's too predictable and easily punishable.

All in all, this is your heavy hitter move, but its not strong enough to be a reliable kill move.

I've been learning to Upsmash out of shield. I heard about Luigi being the best level 9 CPU and I was checking them out because I never vs. CPUs(and my testing easily showed that Luigi is by far the best CPU, computer's perfect reflexes+uptilted Fsmash/Firejumppunch = deadly combo. It short hops double aerial dair to nair and dair to tornado and everything) and the weegee ******* kept popping this Upsmash out of his shield and it was really pissing me off because it totally can screw over how much you expect to space on Luigi's shield and go unpunished.

Also, dtilt is Luigi's fail move, since I missed that discussion. It's kinda like "aw crap, I just accidentally used dtilt" sort of move.

Oh and to upsmash out of shield begin jumping from your shield and in the jumping frames input upsmash before you leave the ground. The hitbox(which is behind you) is out by the 8th frame, I think, which is fast as a rising Nair from shield.

EDIT: We're on to Dsmash already? Dang!
Dsmash is fast(comes out in 5 frames), does 16% damage, you don't need to save it to kill so you can spam it for it's damage, walk to Dsmash to slide while doing it is nice, on heavy/large characters it can hit twice at 0% for 32% damage, and for the same reason it hits twice you can also follow it up with an upsmash sometimes. The move is uncomfortable to DI for some reason, probably because of the weird trajectory it sends you at, and so it can be pretty annoying to get hit by for your opponent. The trajectory sends them up towards you and over your head(what Samus's Dsmash did in Melee actually). One of the weirder trajectories in the game. It's a really good move though because the ability to walk into a sliding Dsmash makes it much more comfortable to use and it has nice damage.

Oh and the fact that it has a hitbox behind is just a bonus, it's fast enough that you can just think about the front hitbox and ignore that it hits behind you too.

Personally I like Mario's Dsmash better... Luigi's Dsmash is meh.. I liked it in melee better, it was always a pureset up for a Fair to their face =P

Dsmash has iunno. Weird physics? Like alias said, it has horizontal/vertical weirdness. Sometimes I find myself landing it more often by walking to sliding dsmash. It increases his range by a little though.

Dsmash is good against your big characters because if they are trying to recover, or they are about to grab the edge, a Dsmash actually has some downward motion. Not a spike or anything but good to keep them off the edge to where you can go out and kill them with fair/dair.
