Was skimming the game during D3 and D4 so I don't know why you decided to massclaim D5 given that town lynched scum three days in a row

My thoughts on the setup is that it was too dependant on the SK to balance it out. Always balancing a setup around a very few key roles is not a good idea (paraphrasing OS here). Positive things about the setup is that it forced mafia to go out and play instead of letting them hide and being inactive (lol ff) due to vig + sk + no mafia kill => mafia wasn't able to make a direct response to those roles. The setup was also very unfair for the SK with a tracker, stalker, rblocker, cop, two doctors and a nurse as backup. Even janitor wouldn't allow the SK to know what faction was he killing (don't know if janitor would hide SK kills though, or if SK would learn what was he killing). I'm usually super against the idea of using third party roles just for balancing purposes, with no real chances for them of winning :/

Game-wise EE lead town as a boss. When I died and learned EE, Chaco and ff were town it was a huge relief. ff dind't make anything though lol. Glyph did a good job imo with the kills :p (I forgive you for killing me
, my reads were super off anyways). Gorf went down quickly due to tunneling the cop (lol), J replaced into a scummy slot, and Kat trying to hide was from the beginning a strategy doomed to fail. I can understand Ryker throwing the towel at the end. Regarding why I ignored Gheb issue D2 when a SK result was on him, it was because I didn't want mafia to relax with the certainty that they were safe that Day. Of course I was willing to lynch Gheb, town should never allow third parties live when confirmed unless it's absolutely necessary. I didn't want to announce my posture until the very end of that Day. Finally it didn't matter, but I think in those scenarios, town should play as if they're willing to leave the SK live through, so mafia doesn't have a free day.

MVP should be either EE or no MVP imo.

Rajam I thought you were town from D1-2 but other people + your seemingly constant need to find minute and almost petty things to question me about seemed really artificial and had me starting to griamce

: crossarms:

EDIT: That sounded a bit more caustic than I intended. I'm just tired. But like, your constant need to question me was getting kind of gnat-like. Yeah I get that I lead a lot and it scares people, but when people just seem to really need a reason to do that, it starts to look like... well like Gheb looked on D1.

You're on point about the SK though. And, yeah, balancing a setup around a few key roles. I mentioned putting your eggs in one basket on the last Day... though, it was apparently worse than I thought with no eggs in any basket re: town being able to get flips...

Really wish he didn't slink away when I fired off that backhand, because my heart wasn't really in it. Just wanted to see how he reacts to it. But I don't want to waste time waiting for his response to mild pressure.

Steve is one of two very (very very, very very very) minor characters on Lost who mostly appears in the first season. Steve is repeatedly mixed up with the character Scott Jackson, and it's played for comic relief. Hey Steve go does this "I'm Scott" "Yeah I'm Steve!" and so on.

I could see Tandora throwing that in there as a joke, especially since (suck it Tando I'm analyzing you too) she said she was willing to drop down to 16 or even 17 players. Who are two completely forgettable slots? Scott Jackson and Steve Jenkins the VTs.

So this one comes down largely to whether I trust Ryker, I guess.

The extreme minorness of Steve (and total lack of any flavor in Laundry's role PM) is the only bothersome stuff here, but I think the stuff I noted about Tandora's behavior before the game filled counterbalances that.
To be honest, the second I claimed, I was practically banking on being the lynch today simply from this. I don't know Lost flavor, I've never watched the show, and my role PM was pretty sparse in information as well. Doing a quick background search told me he was a minor character, and him being a VT just pretty much nailed the coffin lid down in my mind. I was surprised to come back and find five new pages--and the game being over.

So yeh, there shouldn't be an MVP. Town collectively steamrolled through boss investigations and scum handing us the indy on a platter.

Also, EE, now do you see why I started to sink my teeth into Ryker D4? His early D1 play reeked of scumRyker shenanigans and I wanted to see if it was because he was on his phone or doing his usual bull**** that he always does as scum. It's generally a good jumping point, him not knowing his reasons for voting Gorf really didn't settle my worries but I never got the opportunity to handle that because of ****ing J. :glare:

In hindsight, this game should've been even more of a steamroll. The constant theme was no one claiming at the right ****ing time. Glyfe should've claimed D3, Chaco should've claimed D3, Auspher should've claimed D2 (Gheb should've been lynched D1), etc. Would've given us a lot less headaches over the course of the game had people had timelier claims.

Opening credits - The role pms

Town

Evil Eye, you are Jack Shepard.

You are town Doctor. You were on the Oceanic 815 to Las Angeles from Sydney Australia to bring your father's dead body home and bury him. At heart you are a martyr and want to keep everyone alive even at the cost of your own health and safety.

Each Night you may pick one target with the PROTECT option. If that person would die from another's action, you protect them instead. You may not target yourself.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chaco, you are Kate Austen.

You are Town Tracker. You were on Oceanic 815 because a US Marshal apprehended you for the murder of your father. A crime you insist that you are innocent of.After the plane crashed, you have used the chaos as an opportunity for freedom. At heart you're a good person and wish to help your friends alive. You have proven yourself quite capable at following tracks of those who have infiltrated your camp and trace them back to their own headquarters. Occassionally, you find tracks of your friends as they go about their own nightly business.

Each Night you may pick one target with the TRACK option. You will be told who that person visit at night if any one.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Auspher, you are James "Sawyer" Ford.

You are Town Cop. In the "real world" you were a two bit con man. But the same qualities that make a man a great criminal also could have made him a great law enforcer. Despite your selfish, arrogant demeanor, you actually care deeply about others.

Each Night you may target one player with INVESTIGATE. You will be told if that player is a Survivor or not a Survivor.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DtJ Glyphmoney, you are Sayid Jarrah.

You are Town Vigilante. You were on Oceanic 815 to Los Angeles to be reunited with your childhood love, Nadia. In the real worl you were a communications officer for the Iraqi Republican Guard and a skilled torturer. You feel your past makes you a bad man, especially since you must use your ability to hurt others over and over again.

Each Night you may target one player with KILL. That player will die.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rajam, you are Juliet Burke.

You are Town Nurse. You were not originally a passenger of Oceanic 815 like the other Survivors. You came to the Island many years ago to be a doctor for The Others. At the time, you thought you would only be here for six months, but that was three years ago. You've had enough of The Others' insanity and have thrown your lot in with The Survivors.

At the start of the game you have no abilities. However, if the town doctor dies, you will step up and take his place. Each Night you may pick one target with the PROTECT option. If that person would die from another's action, you protect them instead. You may not target yourself.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mentos, you are Jin-Soo Kwon.

You are married to Sun Kwon and that makes the two of you Town Lovers. You love Sun more than life itself and would sacrfice yourself for her safety. In the event one of you is lynched or nightkilled, both of you die.

Because the two of you speak Korean, you are able to have a private mason QT (http://www.quicktopic.com/47/H/J2VuQi8yzHjcD) with Sun (KevinM).

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KevinM, you are Sun-Hwa Kwon.

You are married to Jin Kwon and that makes the two of you Town Lovers. You love Jin more than life itself and would sacrifice yourself for his safety. In the event one of you is lynched or nightkilled, both of you die.

Because the two of you speak Korean, you are able to have a private mason QT (http://www.quicktopic.com/47/H/J2VuQi8yzHjcD) with Jin (Mentos).

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acrostic, you are Mr. Eko.

You are part of the Tailies, the survivors of Oceanic 815 who were in the back part of the plane when it tore in half. In the past, you pretended to be a priest to help smuggle drugs. This lead to your brother Yemi (a real priest) to being accidentally killed leaving you behind to take his place in the church. You have repented your wicked ways and become a true Priest.

You have the disadvantage that you may not cast the hammer vote for a lynch.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soupamario, you are Steve Jenkins.

You were a passenger on Oceanic 815 when it crashed. You are a Vanilla Townie with nothing but your voice and vote.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

frozenflame751, you are Scott Jackson.

You were a passenger on Oceanic 815 when it crashed. You are a Vanilla Townie with nothing but your voice and vote.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Red_ryu, you are Charlie Pace.

You were a passenger on Oceanic 815 when it crashed. You're a washed up singer and guitarist who was trying to convince his brother Liam to stage a comeback tour of your one hit wonder band Drive Shaft. Unfortantely, he refused which leaves you desperate. You're a drug addict which has lead to most of your bad decisions in your life, but you're basically a good man and will help and protect those you care for.

You are a Vanilla Townie with nothing but your voice and vote.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joey, you are Alex Rousseau.

When you were a small baby, you were kidnapped from your mother, Danielle Rousseau and raised by the Others. You believed that Benjamin Linus was your father until recently. Appalled by his deceit, you have joined the Survivors in their attempt to leave the Island. You are a Vanilla Townie with nothing but your voice and vote.

You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Circus, you are Michael Dawson.

You were originally a survivor of Oceanic 815 when it crashed. However, you found the survivor's attempts at rescue unreliable and turned to the Others for help. They were able to get you and your son off the island successfully, but you have returned because of unfinished business. You are a Mafia Roleblocker. Each Night phase, you may send me a command of ROLEBLOCK:NAME and if they have any abilities, those abilities will not be used that night.

Your safeclaim is Walt Dawson.

Gheb, you are The Man in Black aka the Smoke Monster.

You were born on the Island a long, long time ago and you want to leave. You will stop at nothing to accomplish this goal.

You are an Independent Bulletproof Serial Killer with the special ability Faces of the Dead.

Each Night phase, you may target one player and use the command: KILL: NAME. That player will die.

You may also use the command ASSUME FORM: NAME. You may choose from the following list. You may only assume one form per night. Not all forms do something. You may also choose to take no form.

Christian Shepard

Yemi

Any player who has died

Your safeclaim is John Locke.

You win when you're the last player surviving or nothing can prevent this.

----

Unknown to Smoke monster, these are the results of the forms he takes. Any form not listed has no effect.

Christian Shepard - Jack cannot use his protect ability that night. Jack will be informed of this.
Jack - Kate cannot track that night. Kate will be informed of this.
Juliet - Sawyer cannot investigate for the night. Sawyer will be informed of this.
Yemi - Mr Eko may ignore his inability to hammer restriction. Mr Eko will be informed of this.
Alex - Ben will receive no information from his stalk for that night. Ben will informed of this.
Goodwin - Juliet (if she has one) cannot use her protect ability that night. Julie will be informed of this.

Note: If the Smoke Monster decides to assume a Face of the Dead, it will be included as part of the flavor for the next Morning post. For example, if the Smoke Monster chooses Jack Shepard, the opening Day post may include "Last night Jack was seen walking on the beach. How can this be possible when everyone knows Jack is dead?"

(Post game note: I would have included a "you cannot assume a face of the dead twice in a row" to prevent the possibility of only Christian being used over and over.

I would have loved to have seen more of the Smoke Monster, but unfortunately Gheb died very quickly.)

Narrator: Previously on Lost

Jack Shephard (Evil Eye) : Kate, we gotta go baaaaaaaaaaaaack

Kate Austin (Chaco): Where?

Jack: We gotta go back to the Islaaaaaaaaaaaand.

Narrator: No, wait, that's not right.

Previously, the Hatch had exploded when Scott (Frozenflame) had died while manning the Button. We now see new footage of what actually happened that night.

Scott is sleepily sitting at the desk with the button. A huge 23 clicks loudly into place on the countdown. Behind him, we can see a shadowy figure walking towards him making not a sound. As Scott's sleepy head bobs forward, a dark skinned hand touches his shoulder startling him awake.

"Hello, my friend," says Sayid (Glyph), the Middle Eastern former communications officer. "Do you need a break?"

"No, I'm...I'm good," Scott stammers. Sayid had quite a reputation among the Survivors. Gentle and kind most days, there was a terrifying intensity about him that kept some of the more timid members away. There were rumors he had tortured Benjamin Linus (Gordito) for days before the man had been killed. Scott didn't want Sayid to turn his gaze to him.

"Why don't we go for a walk? I'm sure some fresh air will do much to help you through your shift," Sayid suggested.

Scott glanced at the clock. More then twenty minutes still remained before he had to push the button. There was plenty of time for a walk and the exercise would revive him. He nodded and the two men went outside.

Scott didn't really know Sayid that well. They didn't have the same circle of friends. In fact, it was kind of a running joke in the group that they often got him and Steve confused. Personally, Scott didn't think they looked anything alike.

After a few minutes of walking, Sayid put his hand on Scott's shoulder again. This time there was a steely strength in that hand. Scott suddenly found himself sweating in the cool night air.

"I know what you are," Sayid hissed.

"I don't know what you're tal-" Scott gasped as the hunting knife slid into his stomach. That's strange, shouldn't that hurt more? he thought as he slid to the ground. A fog clouded his vision as he curled a hand around his stomach. Warm blood flowed through his fingers as Scott lost consciousness.

-------

Sayid stalked through the jungle quickly setting a perimeter. Someone had been hiding his kills these past few nights leaving him unable to find out more of his victims identities. He was determined to catch whoever it was and question them himself.

A quick patrol found nothing. And when he returned, Scott's body was gone. "Blast it!" Sayid fumed. He checked his watch. Only a few minutes remained before the button must be pushed. He would return to the Hatch, push the button, and continue his search.

Upon returning to the Hatch, Sayid discovered to his dismay that the door was bolted shut. Whoever was balking him was good. A shudder rippled through the Hatch as the warning klaxon screamed. Sayid decided discretion was the better part of valor and faded back into the jungle. Tomorrow night would be another chance to rid the Survivors of a foe.

----

Flash to present time.

Boone (Ryker): I'm telling you these deaths make no sense. I don't think it's the Others. What motive could they possibly have?

Jack (Evil Eye): I feel like I'm missing something. Maybe if I were to just go back to my tent and evaluate all the clues.

Boone (Ryker): Um, I don't think that's really necessary. If you could just trust me, I know we'll get to the bottom of this.

Jack (EE): I trust you! Even if you do like your sister a little too much.

Boone as Jack turns away: Hey, what's that supposed to mean?

Kate and Sawyer (Chaco and Auspher) approach. Sawyer: Hey, hoss. Freckles and I were talking and we think it'd be a good idea for everyone to line up and identify themselves. We could use Hurley's manifesto to figure out who's who.

Agreement is quickly made and people introduce themselves:

Alex (Joey): I'm Alex. I was a kidnapped baby.

Mr Eko (Asdioh) : I'm a reformed priest....and black. [Everyone stares at him for stating the obvious. The big man shrugs and moves to the back of the line.]

Goodwin (Ryker): I'm Boone.

Ethan (Kataefi) : I'm Penny.

Jack (EE): This is getting us nowhere. Kate, we're gonna have to go back!

Kate (Chaco): *blink* What?

Jack: We're gonna have to gooooooooooooo baaaaaaack to the beginning.

Goodwin (Ryker): Oh, for pity's sake you fools. It's me! It was me the whole time.

He leads the to a pit where he had cleverly hidden Sayid's victims.
KevinM and Mentos - Sun and Jin Kwon - Lovers
Rajam - Juliet - Nurse
Frozen flame - Scott - VT

Jack looked at the raving Goodwin and then at the mangled bodies of his friends. "THIS IS MADNESS, THIS IS THE ISLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!" he yelled before kicking Goodwin's madly laughing body into the pit. A smattering of applause followed.

Sayid smiled widely and pulled out his hunting knife. "Excuse me," he said with a small bow as he headed off to find Kataefi. "I have a small conversation for a certain someone."

I kinda kept up with this after I died and wanted to yell at town so much for wasting the days and quicklynching. I hate to see days go to waste like that.

If I had known mafia didn't have a kill I would've claimed D1 and we woulda lived XD I was avoiding claiming because I didn't want mafia to know that hitting me was a 2 for 1 deal. The most I was going to claim(and I was getting very close) was to say if we lynched Ryu(who was really the only viable option other than myself at that point) we lost at worst one townie, if we lynched me we lost two. It didn't get to that point so I was like yaaaaaay and then Glyph killed me >_<

Kevmo called a Ryker and Kat scumteam n1, I found that awesome XD

Huge thanks for my co-mods Hida Jiremi and Swiss. Hida helped a lot in picking pics and double checking my flavor before posting. He was also very dilegent on watching for prods. Swiss was good as an IC to pounce mechanic questions and ideas before confirming them in thread or privately.

I'll sure I've forgotten something, but here's my run down:

Auspher - Good gut instinct on your N1 investigation. I feel you played a good game. I don't know why my result emails to you would not send through. I distinctly remember writing them and emailing them, but there's no copy in my sent folder. Maybe the Island was trying to help the Others? XD

Evil Eye - Being Jack was both awesome and sucky for you. I loved how you accidentally called your character before RNG gave it to you, but I feel fear of NK kept you a lot more back seat than you would have been otherwise. I could see it warring with you as you wanted to take leadership role, but had to be careful to not draw the night kill.

I really enjoyed your rants and hope you'll keep messaging me on Aim.

Your curses are rather...unique. -_-

Mentos
- Thanks for being a last minute join. I really appreciated your enthusiasm. I wish you could have had a more vocal mason partner, but I think you and Kevin did the best you had to work with.

Kevin - Relatively quiet, but insightful as always. You did the best you could to keep your partner alive.

Rajam - I think you've improved since that first game we had together as scum in Tales of Symphonia. I think you did an excellent job of showing how you can post rarely but still participate in the game.

Acrostic - I'm sorry you had to drop out.

Asdioh - Thanks for replacing. You definitely phoned it in, but honestly you didn't give me any reason to expect more. You stayed active and I appreciate it.

Chaco - Good tracking. You did a good job this game.

Glyph - You told me at game start you'd kill a lot of people. I hope it was satisfactory. Good job staying low profile, but Mafia figured you out pretty quickly.

Frozenflame - Your activity was terrible. I watched pretty closely on prods for you, but the last several days ended less than 48 hours IRL and prod time never came up.

Red Ryu - I'm sorry for your lynch on D1. I blame myself for mishandling the situation. Please forgive me.

Soupamario - I don't remember much from you because of your lack of computer access. I know you tend to be very vocal, so it was strange to have you as a nonpresence.

Washed Laundry
- Thanks for replacing! I think you really jumped in feet first and loved your activity.

Kataefi - You did the best you could in an unwinnable situation. I really liked your ideas for safe claims and appreciate that you tried as hard as you did.

Ryker - Ha, you were scum again! You also did the best you could in a lost situation. I don't blame you at all for throwing in the towel. I had considered offering it to you guys, but felt I should stay neutral in the whole matter. Thank you for approaching me first privately and for the feedback you gave me.

I do feel you gave town information that lead to your scummates's deaths and although it did help clear you as town, it ultimately killed your faction.

Circus - I'm sorry you were overwhelmed and hope we can play together in the future.

J - Thanks for subbing in! You did an amazing job as always even if your activity did fall off towards the end. It really is wonderful to know I have someone who'll help me out in a pinch.

Gordito - I laughed my butt off when you got Ben. I loved watching you play and I think you did a good job over all. I was WTF? when you called Chaco out as the tracker. Still not sure what you were going for other than wifom.

Gheb - I got a phoning it in sense from you all of D1. Not sure if you were trying to lay low or if other matters had higher priority. I realize you had no way to know that Gordito was lying about his claim, but I feel if you had tried harder to challenge his claim, Auspher would have had enough time to come in and give his guilty result on Gord which would have saved you.

I apologize again for how bad you got screwed on the set up. I blame my novice status and hope to have a better one in the future. I doubt it's much consolation, but I did a lot of head slapping over how badly I handled your role.

Overall, I had a lot of fun despite the situation deteriorating out of control. I feel the game never lagged too badly despite the holidays. I hope everyone else had fun (or at least enough) and will consider playing under me again in the future.

Namaste!

Actually, since it's a stalker and not FBI agent it's really not that bad. It was just terrible luck and / or Ryker / J / Gorf being gay about deciding to stalk me.

I was so not part of the game that I didn't even get a shoutout xD.

Sorry about not really playing. I forgot my reads after we went through two day phases thanks to investigations, and I felt that the fact that I was a VT and major play based on roles left me completely useless. It was a fun game regardless. Great job hosting, Tanny~! ^^.

In any case, my team was mostly a sinking ship. Gorf was screwed, J/Circus never played the game, Kat had no real influence in the thread. I tried to set up for the Death Star run, but couldn't.

I was actually starting to consider Ryker to be a userper of sorts, who was to have all of his scummies killed in as his wincon lol.

Gorf I didn't like at first, but that claim was all too sweet and I was ready to watch him sail off to endgame.

I totally bit on Ryker's claim too

also by D3 we were kinda screwed. It was just a matter of time before we were all dead. All town had to do was believe the vig, no lynch, and proceed to investigate everyone into oblivion.

I did think Auspher investigating Dooms should have got a guilty because she wasn't a survivor of the flight iirc. ggs though!

I'm still mad salty I got lynched. Still think that was the worst lynch that has happened to me on this site.

Tan, you did nothing wrong outside of some balance issues in the set-up an one replacement problem.

I was so not part of the game that I didn't even get a shoutout xD.

I told you'd I'd forget something. =p

Thanks for playing, Joey! I was really tickled when you joined after I asked. I'd would have liked to have seen a little more from you, but having you on board at all was an honor. *hug*

Wait, Kat was scum? That explains the vibes, but did they both just give up at the same time or something?

I totally didn't catch that when the game ended.

I kinda kept up with this after I died and wanted to yell at town so much for wasting the days and quicklynching. I hate to see days go to waste like that.
Any day that results in a scum lynch isn't a waste.

Seriously, I don't buy the "WE HAVE TO DRAW THINGS OUT TO DEADLINE" mentality. It kills games. Wanna know why this game remained active (not counting the numbskulls like Soup) despite being a large game? Days moved at a timely pace. There was still enough evidence to draw connections, and I'm sure **** wouldn't have happened so fast had there not been investigative guilties.

I agree with Laundry. It's good to draw stuff out when you need to, but otherwise, ending too early really isn't that big of a deal. Unless EE dies without getting to say what he needed to say.

I'm not saying draw it out to the deadline, I just don't like to see it be finished up extremely early without much consideration going on(or, as with J's lynch, when EE wanted to return from V/LA and read prior to the lynch but J was put at -1 to self hammer). I guess I should rephrase it to not discussing anything but "investigative says (blank) let's go blank." I feel there should always be at least a period of discussing anything else prior to doing the lynch(i.e. the weirdness of the night kills from a mafia perspective) that just kinda got skipped over as long as scum kept getting handed over. If that makes sense.
