I'm pretty sure 90% of people worry about the future. I wouldn't call you an idiot for that.
Sorry to say this but not many do so to the extent that I do.

It literally drove me into a catatonic-like state of depression about two weeks ago.

Surely I know everyone worries about the future, but I always take into account, sometimes far too much, the thought that I will fail at my life.

It's horrendously unnecessary considering I'd actually have to try pretty hard to truly fail at something, but the thought always plagues me.
That's why I'm seeing a psychologist soon.

Well I hope you manage to turn it around. I seriously don't know what's wrong with me though. I don't know what I like if I do like anything anymore. I don't know why everything is so bland. I just don't know.

^ Lol. It's the same for me aswell. It's nothing unusual. Just don't resort to stupid **** just to stop this ''blandness''. It will blow over, or fluctuate throughout the days. Just depends on how your mood is affected by billions of everyday factors overall.

at times everyone has to go through a bland period, but if you make mistakes you could end up missing and regretting losing what you have now. sometimes the best thing to do is to take a huge look (from an outside perspective) at your situation and pck out the few things that could or would motivate you.

For me I always had trouble working hard, and always gave up after a few setback.. then it was blah, then super exciting, then blah again... this cycle continued well and far into my life, until I met my fiance'. Things happen by chance, but you could use your time to effectively modify your trajectory in life and make some changes that you want and need, whilst not making crazy mistakes like drugs/booze/whatever.

Maybe it's time for you to take a healthy risk and try something exciting and fresh.. ? Either way I'm sorry, really sorry for what you are going through, and I hope you can figure it out.. whatever may end up making you happy could've been with you the whole time...
