The whole point of it is to be unfair enough to those players that they don't auto win because of their skill though. Looking at Gnes's Snake, Razer's Diddy Kong, and Ally's EVERYTHING makes me think its kind of pointless to just imply "they won't be using mains, so its anybody's game. I'm not trying to hate on the event, but it just seems a little pointless to punish some players in A tier, when the REALLY REALLY good people aren't going to be handicapped much at all.That wouldn't be fair to those players. While some are good with Dorf/Jiggs, others aren't.

If we handicap them that much, what's the point of them entering in the first place? This is just a fun side event so that people get the chance to play with people they would otherwise not play with. It's only really a problem if two of them get paired together. That's possible, but Razer got paired with a bowser at our last one. It's not meant to be super competitive, it's just for fun. I don't think putting that strict of a restriction on anyone is a good way to make it fun.
