London 'Out of Con'Trolls' Tournament - 14th January MELEE + BRAWL

Swizzy beat Jolteon at the Brighton event. He's also faced him in pretty much every tournament and always wins. He also beat crystalnite and AmcD. Only Tamoo has ever beaten Edwin in the past and Edwin told me he didn't even care about that. He lost 3-1 to Swizzy and I'm pretty certain Swizz would do it again.

PMS lost to Beast and would definitely have gone out in pools if he hadn't have got Unreal to fake a loss against him. Obviously there's nothing that can be done, Beast was pissed off at the time but being a nice guy didn't really do anything about it, just went off and played street fighter. I know this happened for a fact and I don't think this kind of thing is acceptable at all and will be keeping a close watch over matches where this could happen, it's massively bull****.

You guys may well be better than us, the only thing I objected to was your implied dismissal of our team as not very good when the last time you played us you lost and it wasn't that long ago (no Fuzz, 3 months ago isn't ancient history in this game with our regularity of meaningful tournaments - if I dismissed your performance at Genesis 2 last summer, getting out of that death pool etc, as completely irrelevant I doubt you'd accept that).

@ Prof - we don't take offence that good doubles performances don't translate into perceived singles proficiency, as long as it's recognised that good doubles performances DO translate into perceived doubles proficiency (may sound mind numbingly obvious but I'll put it out there)

@ Tamoo - just so you know all those people who were supposed to be coming with me now aren't (one might still be but it's unlikely), so it'll just be me needing the housing on Friday night.

I remember before we knew the Internationals were coming I was hyped for doubles of this tournament cos of all the top teams and how tight the competition was (and it's even tighter now with the Europeans) and I listed it as

Well seeding isn't confirmed for this tournament as I said before, so I have no problem switching anything around

And a T.O. I guess can intervene in that situation, it's VERYYY unlikely to happen at this event as we are going to try our hardest to seperate pools by location, people who reguarly play plus fair and balancing them.

I am all about the love and the support, I would never want to hurt anyones feelings, all I care about is equality for everyone.
I have recently become a fan of remaining quiet during other peoples sets as I think it's important to give players personal head space to think about everything and respect the match, and no matter who wins I think both players should get a round of applause.

I hope we both have good sets in doubles, I really enjoyed last time and I think you got the edge, I hope we can match you this time XD

The cockiness is fairly evident and the mere fact you feel it's necessary to offer a £40 MM shows defensiveness, especially as I never said 'we are better than you', rather 'please don't talk about us like we're shit and don't belong among the top 4/5 UK teams.

Both Tamoo and I have said we'll happily MM anyhow. The fact that you both consider yourselves poor and will still put up reasonably high stakes is irrelevant to me - it's not how I do things. If someone I was very sure of beating asked for a MM I would never ask for the stakes to be higher than a couple of quid; an opponent of similar skill level to or higher than my own (in my own estimation of course) I will treat the same.

Why are you trying to read so deeply into this? I merely offered you a MM to prove my point because I think writing text walls on smashboards is not the best way to do so. I believe that you're completely wrong by saying that 3 months is not a significant time period in any competitive environment. There is going to be 10 pools, top 3 get through. Would have done [11 pools top 4 go through and the top 4 from amateur bracket take up the 4 slots left creating a 48 man bracket] but I doubt we will have enough time to do that.

Also Anaky will be doing seeding, plus a little help from Hoe4u and CRZ maybe. I will also be checking it to make sure people are separated evenly (don't really want to have all the M and M gamers in the same pool. And I don't want to have two Europeans from the same country to be in the same pool either)
