I'd like to point out that when and if Little Mac is revealed his intro video will say "Little Mac...enters the ring." lol

That would make this move have ridiculously high priority, right?
I don't think it needs priority, since its purpose is to hit them in their start up lag, before their attack comes out.Exactly!
I love this idea. It's not like Little Mac works that way anyway. But making them Dizzy as a counterpunch is PERFECT for his style. Then one could follow up with a smash attack, or whatever.
I reckon Little Mac will be a fast-weak type. But the Counterpunch will be integral to his playstyle.
My only concern is how would this work on air? There is no air-stun status. Unless it leaves the opponent in a Helpless state (which in contrast, would be extremely OP) but on the other hand... it would put a LOT of pressure on his opponents when Mac goes out to get them outside the platforms.
A pressure fighter.... I like that.
Hey , I made up some stuff for Little Mac. I like characters with offbeat styles, like Ice Climbers and Olimar, so I thought about making Little Mac that way. He is my most wanted newcomer, and these are the things I really hope for. I hope you like it.
This Little mac has a unique attack mechanic. 'Feint' http://www.expertboxing.com/boxing-strategy/boxing-offense/5-feints-for-boxing-
tricks
If the input is fast enough he can cancel any attack early in the animation. For instance, he can feign a fsmash and
instead use usmash, or up b. He can simply fake a punch and do nothing, by tapping the same input within a small frame window. He
can do this with aerials as well. This will give Mac an unpredictable quality and help lure opponents into punishable positions.
Special moves
-------------
The strength of Little Mac's specials depends on his star meter, which builds to a max of 3 stars. Mac will gain a star in
numerous ways: 1. By landing any attack that interrupts the early frames of an opponent's attack. 2. By blocking a smash attack or
other powerful attack with the 'guard' technique. 3. By blocking several weaker attacks with 'guard'. 4. By connecting with either
type of 'Counter' 5. By KOing an opponent. 6. By executing a combo of 6 consecutive hits.
B Guard ---> +B Guard Counter
In this move Mac goes into a defensive boxing stance, only vulnerable from behind. It absorbs all physical attacks, and will also
block physical types of projectiles like bombs. Little Mac will not experience knockback when guarding but he will take 50% of the
damage. There is also some hitstun depending on the strength of the attack being absorbed, so it is somewhat punishable, but not
very. If B is pressed quickly as the guard is hit, and the opponent is close enough, Mac will hit them with a quick counter punch
and add a star to his meter. At max stars it's as strong as a smash attack, and will drain the meter if used. Can be used in the
air.
^ B Star Punch
A rising, spinning punch. The knockback, distance, and damage determined by the meter. It is very strong, similar to DK's charge
punch in terms of power with a full meter. With only two stars it still as has the knockback of a strong smash attack, and will
offer an above average recovery. Slowish start-up. You won't be loading up on stars and spamming this.
V B - Slip ---> +B Slip Counter (http://www.expertboxing.com/boxing-techniques/defense-techniques/how-to-slip-punches)
Little Mac dodges from side to side, similar to a spot dodge, only Little Mac at the same time advances a small distance forward
in whatever direction he is facing. Approaching while at the same time dodging. Boxers are a bit more vulnerable in this position,
and Little Mac will experience greater damage and knockback if he gets hit while doing it. If he uses this near an opponent, he
can press B a second time and throw a star-powered punch right out of the dodge. Same mechanic and power as guard counter. In the
air Mac has a unique movement - like an aerial spot dodge.
Note: For the two counter moves, the type of counter punch thrown depends on the direction the stick is held. Up = Upsmash
uppercut , forward = fsmash overhand right, ect
> B - Dash Combo (B - dashes forward with hooking punch > + B jab > ... ect ect
This is a melee marth style continuous combo where you have to keep pressing various buttons in a rhythm to keep it going.
Difference is Mac can cancel his attacks as a feint, so you might use the dash punch as a combo-starter (and it is quick enough to
be viable) feign-cancel the next move in the sequence and use a smash instead. This move, being star-powered, would actually be
more effective for comboing at low star levels, though inferior for recovery.
Just off the top of my head stars could float around mac's head or something... i dunno about making his whole play style about racking up stars but he could certainly have "stars" as part of his character somehow. I think the problem is the word "meter" because it implies it's on the screen somewhere during the whole match next to the % or stock or something, which yeah i also agree shouldn't happen, it's too different from what smash is. However mac racking up a total of three stars like in his game could still be worked into his character... again i picture them floating above his head or something as an example that doesnt mess with the mechanics of super smash bros itself but is just clearly part of his character could work. for instance ice climbers don't have two separate % meters but the game still makes using two characters work, here mac wouldnt have a star meter filling up the screen being drastically different from other opponents but could still gain stars and indicate how many he has in some way.It sounds pretty good, but I think giving him a star meter would be just awful. It would be so different from everything Smash Bros. is, and although I'm not necessarily opposed to it, I doubt Sakurai will do it. He will definitely be for Smash veterans and not beginners regardless of whether or not his move set is like this. Using a star meter, though, it wouldn't be like Olimar or Ice Climbers. Ice Climbers, besides the fact you can lose have of your power, aren't that quirky (but they are maybe my second best in Brawl and Melee and I love them). Olimar, you had to pluck pikmin, but that's not building a star meter. I mean, where would they even put the meter? You'd be too distracted trying to play to look down and check if you have the star meter to K.O. someone, especially since Sakurai has said this game will be much faster paced than Brawl.

Thanks for your comment. I liked shinhed-echi's post. The star count can be indicated on his body somehow like Game & Watch's bucket or some other effect. It sounds pretty good, but I think giving him a star meter would be just awful. I can see people spamming that to the point where I'd want to choke them. I like it!Nice ideas, ErictheLone, shinhed-echi.
btw, I thought of how bad it would suck if you managed to get 3 stars, but then you blew/wasted them.
Missing, etc...
Therefor, Down B:
Stick and Move: Time this with an Enemy Attack to neutralize the attack and sepparate yourself from the opponent (duck, move/slither away, or push them away).
This deals no damage, but earns you a star.
Then, if you have 3 stars and use down B when an enemy attacks, Mac moves away and counters with a garantueed Star Punch.
28% High knockback.
Well, if they spam too much - grab them, or smash them right after their "Effect Frames" are over.I can see people spamming that to the point where I'd want to choke them. I like it!
Now I could see that! That's not a bad idea! But if they wanted to simplify it more, they could build him like Lucario, who I'm sure most of you know got more powerful the higher his percentage was. Hence, themore damaged Mac gets the more he glows, etc. Or even do it opposite and make iIt the lower his percentage is the stronger he is, and that would make the regeneration taunts/counters further based in strategy.I see good ideas. But say, IF they were to implement a star system, I picture the ideal way to represent it, would be through a golden flash emanating from Little Mac.
Like how Mr. Game & Watch represents his bucket by 3 different frames, Little Mac would represent star power as follows.
1 star: Brief yellow flicker (with the Star-get sound effect)
2 stars: Stronger, prolongued yellow glow. (With a higher pitched Star-get sound effect)
3 stars: A big, and strong golden glow (With a higher pitched Star-get sound effect, with an added echo)
(These glows appear only the moment he gets a star, they don't stick to Mac throughout the match. Just when he gets them, and when he delivers his Up+B)
So each time you successfully land a counter attack, Mac would charge his star powers this way. Leading to a super powerful Up+B finisher.
Or maybe something more like a taunt available for use every 20 or 30 seconds that regains 10% of his health.Another thing I thought of that could be cool is the in-between-knockouts/rounds stamina regeneration. (see 2:12 of Hotfeet's video above)
Maybe something like doing Mac's Taunts repeatedly in between waiting time for KO's (of if your opponent is foolish enough to sit back and stare at you from afar and not be able to hit you from a range) could do something like regenerate 1% per second or per "movement." The downside to it could be if you get hit, any Stars you have accumulated up until that point are lost, leaving you with 0.
man, think of all star mode.Or maybe something more like a taunt available for use every 20 or 30 seconds that regains 10% of his health.
Are you referring to All Star mode in Smash or a mode in Punch Out!!? And either one, what do you mean? Lolman, think of all star mode.
it would be cheap to just restore all your health in the waiting area of smash's all star mode. that way it would be too easy. Are you referring to All Star mode in Smash or a mode in Punch Out!!? And either one, what do you mean? Lol

Naw, wouldn't be too hard for them to just turn it off in most Single player modes. That being said, I still don't really like it... It's a mechanic that encourages players to break away from combat and do sneaky things as everyone else beats each other up, and Smash Bros. doesn't need things to slow down the fight.
But...but...it might be a generic new Smash stage that just happened to coincide with the revival of the Punch Out!! series! Don't jump to conclusions!Thing is about people who deny the boxing ring being a Little Mac stage is.... Why the **** would Sakurai add a boxing ring and not link it to Nintendo's iconic boxing game? It's SAKURAI for gods sake. He doesn't do anything without linking it to a game.
The worst part is that the Animal Crossing example doesn't even apply anymore. You are being too modest.But...but...it might be a generic new Smash stage that just happened to coincide with the revival of the Punch Out!! series! Don't just to conclusions!
And it definitely doesn't solidify Little Mac's place in the game, since, like Animal Crossing and Electroplankton before it, the Punch Out!! series clearly has no obvious fighters.
It would be ridiculously trolly of Sakurai's part to, not only add a Boxing Ring stage without Little Mac, but going the extra mile of not even aknowledging it as a Punch Out stage, despite the obvious EXACTITUDE minus the logos.
I know it's probably going to be a scenario where a new update will be made to the site, where he says "You might be wondering why there's a boxing ring in Super Smash Bros..." and a trailer will follow.
I know that a small part of me is worried, kind of how Animal Crossing fans felt last tine. Thing is that apparently the Villager had been planned for Brawl after all, but cut somewhere along the development process.
I don't think he'll let something like that happen again. (But it does trouble me that being a generic boxing ring stage will be his trump card if Little Mac never appears).
Maybe it's not a boxing ring. You ever think about that?Thing is about people who deny the boxing ring being a Little Mac stage is.... It's got four ropes, if it were a wrestling ring, it'd only have three.Maybe it's not a boxing ring. You ever think about that?
Oh, okay. I didn't know there was a difference. My bad. It's got four ropes, if it were a wrestling ring, it'd only have three.

Still waiting for an image where Little Mac is gettign punched in the face by Villager.
Oh, okay. I didn't know there was a difference. My bad.
It was just something I realized. Whenever I watch professional wrestling, the ring's shape may be different (mostly square), but the amount of ropes is almost always three. Boxing rings are mostly consistent, a square ring with four ropes.I didn't know that either, but now I've looked it up, and Little Mac is pretty much solidified in my head. I mean, if it were just a generic Smash stage a wresting ring would make so much more sense.
