How so? I find them to be interesting and quite difficult, but fun nonetheless.

Ok, I'm on what I'm pretty sure is the last chapter (XIII) And so far the maps have been just ridiculous in comparison to every other map beforehand. It's mostly the third one that's been so difficult, because every space is enemy boost +150 and the three (Of course it couldn't just be one) geo symbols are all spread out and guarded each by three very powerful enemies. So if I can't go over to them and destroy them, pretty much all of people get killed in two hits. (or less) If they're still up, attacks do almost nothing, and the only form of good damage is magic, and I only have ONE Skull.

I think this map would be easier if I had more magic users/insane defense people (I recently got a Galactic Knight and I'm training him up now)

I see your point though, I enjoyed several of the late game maps, it's just this one is beyond silly.

Be careful with 3 if you ever get it then Yars, everything one shots you in the endgame.

But you're playing Disgaea wrong anyways, you're supposed power level until every issue becomes a non-issue.

I agree with Rutger, once you power up your army, you should have no problem taking any damage at all, I'd suggest you top of to 9999, that way you won't stumble upon such a thing, my suggestion anyway.

I enjoyed Laharl's game the most, I own the 2nd & 3rd but I really haven't played them at all, i'll probably skip them and play Disgaea 4 next month. ^_^

I enjoyed the Disgaea games more as they went on, definitely gameplay but story a bit as well.

I don't recommend rushing to lvl 9999 right away, you can beat the game just over 100. It will take a while before you can easily grind hundreds of levels and you will be more than ready to beat the game by then.

Yup, and it's fun as hell, grinding to those levels makes me feel like a god.

Well, the best way to level up in my opinion is to fight in places where you have gathered alot of experience from a certain foes, of item world always helps by a definite margin if you plan on leveling up quickly, it all depends whether or not you have a good party to survive, another way to get stronger without actually leveling up is to level up any of your weapons and accessories so that it will increase it's level, you may be aware that after an item is at least at level 20 you should start seeing a notable change in your stats, if you want to go to item worlds to level up, I suggest you go with the lower level ones since they have weaker monsters within, once your character reaches at least level 10, things should start getting alot easier, but like I said an easier dungeon where you've been also helps to play repetatively until you reach level 10 or so the game will start to get easier, at least for me it did.

Also, Item world is the best thing ever.

For Disgaea 1 you want to first go to the Item world and find and combine Statisticians until you have a level 300 statistician on any one item and give it to a character, it will give that character 300% extra exp for any enemy killed. Statisticians are easy to get in that game, just look for items with them on it in the shop.

300% bonus is the max you can get btw.

There are also some stages with enemies on exp multiplying geo panels, I don't know the stages off the top of my head but a quick look around gamefaqs and you should find them.

Try and get the sword skill with a 3x3 attack zone and try to be able to one shot the enemies on those stages and leveling up will be pretty easy.
