I think he meant Light House.
The main reason why I come here is because my room is more inactive than the Computer Café.

I used to be just a mod for Creative Minds for like years and years.

when I stopped coming to the site around 07-09 I kinda forgot to tell anyone and nobody noticed I wasn't around to mod because the CM is that dead.

That's about right. I'm just happy to mod one of the best rooms (IMO) on SWF! :)

God I'm so happy it's Los Santos.

Though for a second there I thought it was Vice City which would have made me even more happy.

I hope the main character isn't as lame and ****ty as Niko was.

I liked playing as Niko...GTA IV was the first console GTA game I ever played. (Played GTA Advance before that.)

The graphics for the game have been considerably improved IMO.

Another Vice City would have been pretty awesome.

What was your gripe with Niko, LT? I never played GTA IV and I'm genuinely curious. I thought the premise was pretty neat (immigrant with a shady past coming over to the States to get a fresh start). What made him unlikable?

So help me, if they introduce another garbage element like that, I am modding it out first chance I get.

Niko was all about "I'm a redeemed man, no more violence here, I'm gonna live a good life"

and five minutes into the game you're performing multiple homicides for money. I hate how Rockstar tried to make GTA4 a serious dramatic game. It really falls flat to me, because once a cutscene ends I'm going to steal a van that's named Group Sechs and use it to run over 100 people. You are supposed to be chained to this hackneyed moral compass that your avatar is constantly spouting about, but it goes against the very nature of what makes GTA fun. Add to that, he had his stupid **** cousin Roman, and his depressed friend Dwayne and you have to go bowling or play darts with them every couple of hours or they get depressed.

CJ from San Andreas was the same way, but not quite as bad. Here's a kid who came from the hood, has no qualms about killing enemy gang members, jacking cars, blowing up airplanes, stealing government property, money laundering, and on and on and on...oh, but he crosses the line at drug dealing? Give me a break. And to top it off, at the end of the game CJ has billions of dollars and owns property all over the country and what does he decide to do? HE GOES BACK TO THE GHETTO. It's a good thing SA was such an amazing game because the story and characterization was completely bonkers nonsense.

Now Tommy Vercetti...THAT'S how you make a GTA protagonist. Tommy gives no ****s about anyone or anything besides himself, and he makes this abundantly clear. He's a psychopath who will do anything he needs to get what he wants. And that is awesome. This way, there is no disconnect between the character and the player when I go out and kill 23 hookers with a dildo. That's in-character for Tommy.

>_> Wow, really...? I could kind of understand if there was a good reason for him to start going out and offing people. That kind of blatant contradiction is kind of lame.

I'll admit, I never really played any of the Grand Theft Auto games for the story. I kinda kept it to the spirit of the first couple of iterations for the PS1: I jack cars, mow down pedestrians (****ing green shirts), and blow **** up. However, I didn't completely ignore the story details with the newer games, and putting it in that light I'd have to agree with you about C.J. and Tommy (at least). Especially Tommy. Oh, he was a sonuva***** and I loved him every waking moment; he fit the GTA mold well. Plus, his "era" was just perfect for those kinds of off-the-wall antics of the setting. C.J. didn't really strike me as being as ruthless (his one-offs were hysterical though) like Tommy.
